In today's review, I'm trying UBE (purple yam) ice cream for my first time, and I'm surprised! In what way am I surprised? Check out the review to find out!
Thanks for watching Ice Cream Meltdown 👊. 🍦

wow- that was fast getting a review from that request. glad you enjoyed it more than you thought.
and by the way the u in ube is pronounced more like "oo" from what I've seen.
still, neat. I didn't realize that there was ice cream out there with boba in it.
I could definitely be wrong on how it's pronounced
Thanks again for that recommendation! I really liked it, and had some more this afternoon. There's a good grocery store here with Asian products, so I was glad to find this one there. You're probably right about the pronunciation...I was guessing that I probably didn't say that right 😂🍦
I thought you’d give it a 6/10 (“worth recommending to ice cream lovers, but not serving at home”).
7 is getting into, “I’ll offer it to fam and friends at my home” territory!
You're probably right, but I actually did convince my wife and daughter to try it the next day, and they agreed with me that it was pretty tasty! I wish they hadn't put artificial blue color in it though...I like to see what its natural color is.
The chunks are boba. Basically tapioca.
Yeah, it took me a few bites to realize that. Really tasty little boba! 🍦👍
Ube's taste is hard to describe. You should try Pandan (Ube's rival flavour and also a native ingridient here) next time. I'm from the Philippines BTW ending up here for I've recently read Ube is trending and I'm curious. Subscribed! Best of luck to you!
Thanks for subscribing and for the flavor recommendation! I'll try some Pandan ice cream if I can find it. 👍🍦🕺
@@IceCreamMeltdown thank you!
If you visit my country someday Sir, you can see ube everywhere all over here in Philippines, in grocery stores, in public market, in vendors that sells vegetables in bakeshops, because ube is just a local root crop here in Philippines..I recommend you to try Ube Halaya, ube Calamay..
but reminder again sir. it pronounce as OOBE not YOBE😅😅😅
That's great! I'll have to visit the Philippines sometime, and try all of the different Ube varieties. Thanks for watching and commenting! I'll try to pronounce that one better :)
Actually it pronounce as OOBE.. not YOBEE..hehehe😅😅😅
But its not the Real Magnolia tho the Real Magnolia is the San Miguel ice cream some greedy businessman stole the Magnolia name but if u want the real magnolia go with the san miguel ube ice cream
Thanks for that recommendation! I'll have to try the Miguel ube 🍦😋
I hope you know the background story before you judge the brand. ☹
