  • The video explains in an informal way as to how we can learn the 10 Thaats of Hindustani Classical Music. The author has devised an interesting 'Formula' to remember the names and notes used in each Thaat.
In this video you will learn how to easily remember the names of 10 Thaats of Indian Classical Music, how to remember their differences, and how to remember the number of vikrit swars (flat/sharp notes) used in each Thaat, and finally how to memorize the group of swars (notes) applicable in each Thaat. The way this information is shared by the author is unique and is nowhere to be found on internet or in any book. The author is a self-taught flutist and keeps sharing his experience of self-learning with the audience. Remembering the names of 10 Thaats through an acronym sentence is very fruitful as the author explains in this video. Then, he also explains how you can memorize the number of notes used in each Thaat through a fictitious "Telephone Number" and finally, with the help of a tune, how you can remember all the notes that are used in Thaats. Harih: Om - Excellent usage of Mnemonics - but I feel that the Thaat's Mnemonic should match the 'phone' number, because now they are both different and remembering them separately possess a challenge. You should create the Mnemonic that matches 0112223344
