Great Show!! 👍
Thank you for your show.
You guys are awesome ❤
We’ve all heard the phrases, “The horse has left the barn” and “You can’t put the toothpaste back into the tube”? By withholding features, Apple is, basically, trying to prevent the horse from leaving the barn and the toothpaste from leaving the tube.
If Apple just, blindly, releases features without assuming the government agency in charge is going to force a significant change to the feature, to the point where the feature is compromised in its usefulness/security/ease of use, then there is nothing stopping current or future government agencies from telling Apple how to develop its operating systems. It’s the EU now, and then it’ll be Japan, Korea, China, etc.
It’s easier for Apple to say, “Meh, we want to protect these new features from being open to regulation, so no new features for you” to certain markets.
Audio seems a little too loud at the start.
sorry, couldn’t hear you over how much fun we’re having ☀️😎🌴🌴
@@josieMayday lol
If you’re a trillion dollar duopoly with no prospect of actual competition from even a third party you should be regulated as a utility. If that stops them making features, then maybe it will allow actual competition who does. Kind of tough shit if it’s not in Apple’s best interest. I understand the instinct that ‘limiting’ apple will give consumers less features but I think it’s the opposite, restricting them will increase the competition.
Building DMA compliant features isn’t harder, you’ve never done development if you think so. It’s actually harder to be flexible if you close it the way Apple does, as you have to build it all yourself in house.
FIRST!
I wonder if Android will become more interesting because 🍎 Apple will be regulated to BORING and Controlled by the EU
