I watched a different video Friday after my dryer wouldn’t come on. I ordered two parts, after ordering , I figured I only needed the door switch. Lol. The parts came today, and after installing the door switch, my dryer is now back to normal! Thanks!

Great, concise video. I bought the part and installed it myself in a short time. The trickiest part and the part of the exercise that took the longest, was prying open the top. You have to insert the putty knife at just the right height or you would be pressing under the tab. Although he clearly showed this in the video, it still took me some time to get it right.

A few years back our dryer wasn't heating at all and we paid a repairman quite a bit and I watched what he did and the part he replaced and said to myself "I can do that...and for a lot cheaper too" Now if there is air but no heat I know what to do. Last year, there was no power to the dryer and I found a video that said the fuse was most likely the culprit and it was and I fixed that for the cost of the inexpensive part and now this! Appreciate the info on this video!

This is the most awesome video ever! My dryer door switch broke the other day. I guess I'm lucky it broke in a way it thinks my door is closed all the time so I can still use it but the light doesn't work now because it's connected to the switch. Anyway, thanks for the video especially since I can't afford a repairman and don't need one after seeing how easy it is. I will definitely search your site for the part.

Great Video!!! I was about to start looking for a new dryer until I read that a dryer should last about 10-12 years. Had a clue it was the door switch because for 2 weeks the clothes kept tumbling even with the door open until it died completely. Found the correct Whirlpool switch (3406107) by looking it up on appliance parts pros link. Dryer door switch was $5.97 on Amazon. Took me about 15 minutes with the wonderful instruction on this video.Thanks so very, very much!!!

My dryer worked intermittently and I could not figure out why until I found the switch had broken half way so the door would hit the switch, thus making the dryer start, but as the clothes turned the load would soon press against the door just enough that the switch would release, shutting off the dryer

Very helpful thanks. One suggestion: If you are clumsy like me, the screws by the lint screen will find their way down the screen shaft. I put a shop towel over the opening before removing and replacing the screws. Thanks again.

To check to see if the switch is working do u have to close the lid all together
My dryer light won't come on and will continue to run when I open the door. So the door switch is suck in the 'on' position. I need a new switch for safety concerns. This weeks project! Thanks for the great how to video!

I have a hard time opening the top as was only able to release one side by pressing the locking clip on one side but not the other. is there a trick not mentioned in the video? I have whirlpool dryer model # LGR5600JT1. do I need to remove the screws in the back of the dryer to facilitate pressing and releasing the other clip of the Top in order to change the door switch?

i can't seem to get the lid up. can't find the little tabs or rather get them to release.
I replaced the push to start switch and the door switch. my maytag dryer still wont work. any ideas? it lights up but nothing.
