  • Hey Modelorian-Crew,
    this is video 1 of 4 step-by-step build videos of my US Army CH-47 Chinnok build. The Chinook is my son's favorite helicopter, so I had to build one. I had several ideas for this helicopter.
    First I wanted to paint it in JASDF snow camo and skis on the wheels. But that failed because the kit doesn't have an option for "long nose" Chinooks which habe a radar in their nose. So this option was off the table.
    The second idea I had was to build it as a Canadian Chinook, BUT (you guessed right) there was no option for this version, too! The Canadian ones have way bigger fuel tanks on their sides.
    After a lot of research, I ended up with my favorite option. A US Army Chinook with some special purpose and really cool markings...
    Enjoy the video and please give me a LIKE and SUBSCRIBE, if you like what you see. Thanks a lot!
    Cheers,
    The Modelorian

      If I were to build this Chinook Kidult, I'm thinking of converting the interior dashboard to an all digital [LED] instrument cluster! 6:44

    I've had the worst luck with that Vallejo plastic putty. Since it's not sandable, what are you using on the cotton bud to remove the excess?

      Hey Antares, sorry for the late reply. Been on vacation. 😎 It’s just simple water on the cotton bud. But youngsters to swipe it away, while it’s still kinda wet. Apply it, wait 5-10min and then wipe it away with the bud. There’s a good video on this topic on the Vallejo YT-Channel. Cheers!!!

    Great video. What super glue do you use that is that thin in the Tamiya bottle?

    • @TheModelorian
      @TheModelorian  Před rokem

      Hey Darksouljah, thank you very much for your comment. Do you mean that glue at 1:20? That is „Sprue Glue“. It’s selfmade glue from Tamiya Extra Thin Cement leftovers. You put sprue parts into the Tamiya Extra Thin Cement bottle, which melts the sprue to liquid sprue. I use it as a filler… I hope that is what you mean. If not, the Tamiya bottle is ordinary Tamiya Extra Thin Cement. Cheers!
