Loved this video. I visited my brother in Colorado and visited Jareds gym and he helped me improve my snatch from 210 to 225 with a few technical cues. Keep it up Jared!

You taught me how to properly Snatch at CF Pandora's Box 4 years ago Jared and this video was a GREAT refresher. THANKS!

Great cues, especially the hip snatch, keeping the bar close and getting the hips to be underneath the bar to generate power. Thanks heaps for the vid 👍

This is a brilliant video - thank you! I really struggle with the Snatch and recognise all 3 of those errors. Really well explained!

Great video and clear instructions. Thank you. I’m pretty sure I’m making all three of these mistakes.

Jared, do you have any tips/pointers for someone who is taller? I'm 6'4 and am having the issue that my hands are as wide as possible on the bar, but it still sits below my waist when standing straight due to my arm length. Instead of pushing with my hips I'm forced to bounce it off my thighs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The reason the back is rotating downward at liftoff is because the squats and pulls are out of sync with the clean & jerk. In other words the velocity of the squats and pulls are decelerated instead of non-decelerated and do not stay in sync with the times in motion of the snatch and clean of 1 second. The slower heavy grinding squats and pulls cause the fast fibers to be trained as slow fibers and they lose their ability to react quicker and aid the lifter in maintaining their position through the sticking point. It's not a technical problem, but a problem associated with how the squats and pulls are being trained.

Great vid, question in your second correction where does the Scoop come in to play or is it a case of my my arms pulling the bar in from my knees to mid thigh?

Hey, great question. Your lats are always activated & pulling the bar back into you. The most common spot to activate the scoop is right around mid thigh. All the way until that point your knees are extending before they rebend.

just practice, you´ll get there. Mobility needs time and effort.

As a power lifter, this shit looks ridiculous. But I guess everything looks stupid the first time you see it
