Thanks for sharing your classroom set up. In our school, no fluff stuff like pillows, personal teacher items, comfy chairs, rugs, etc. can be in the classroom. The goal is to maximize space by spreading out the student desks and to leave just essential things. This would also help the cleaning staff to sanitize without having to deal with extra stuff.
Our district has not released any of that info yet! I’m sure there will be some changes I need to make!
Same in ours. No common areas, cloth materials or seating, shared materials, etc. But, of course that was the plan when we though we were going back to in person. They’ve now announced all distance learning at least the first quarter. I have mixed feelings. Ready to be back, but want to be safe. I’m a sped teacher though, so teaching my kids virtually is just so very hard!

my district announced that they are doing online school until the end of january, i really hope that we can go back because it’s my last year of middle school. quarantine has really taught me not to take school for granted 😭

As much as I would love to be back in the classroom, I think teacher and student safety is first. I’m glad you’re motivated to be back teaching in person. I was having a lot of anxiety. I teach in a state where the cases have been increasing 😐.
I totally understand. It’s a weird time right now! I do have my anxieties about it as well but I’m just moving forward with what guidelines we have been given so far. Best wishes! 😊

For the bright neon buckets, to change the color you could just spray paint them to the colors of your choice instead of having to buy all new buckets, spray paint can be very affordable as well at places like Walmart

Interesting -- none of that will be allowed here as there is no sharing of communal things, *at all* - books, art, soft stuff, games, file folder games, cushy areas, etc. None! All desks are 6 feet from edge to edge, masks on kids, etc. In fact, districts are slowly announcing online only as there is just not enough space to make this happen safely.

And nothing paper on the walls and boards, so that everything can be sanitized. Staff had to take as much as possible home in June, including anything fabric, all furniture, smaller items, etc. I no longer have a dining room, and am not looking forward to teaching in an empty room. :(
I am a first-year teacher in teaching ELA. I want nothing more than to be in my class with my students. A lot of my students don't have great home lives and need school as their safe space. I love your classroom space, it seems warm and inviting.

y'all are starting school way after me... my school starts on aug 13th it will be mostly online school but some classes will be on campus I'm so ready for 7th grade so yeah! (btw love these vids)

My school doesn’t allow pictures or bright colors they only like black and white the only area that I like in my school is the art and history department up they put all of the six form art up on the walls! Love what you did with the classroom!!

You need one of those bead sorter cases to sort your letters for your felt board!!!! They have them at Michael’s & Walmart for sure like $10

Jessie Crisp I know they have them for $7-$10 right now at Michaels!!! I just purchased a felt board so I will be getting one. I also have one for my light board letters too!! It saves so much time!! Love ur room I can’t wait to see it! I am trying to hold off on decorating mine but have been in there working to clean & organize everything! I moved grades & classrooms so I needed to purge!!! We just got word that our August 17th start date is being pushed back to September 8th now. And we should know more Monday.

The plastic neon bins could be sprayed with the spray paint for plastic. I did a few daily use bins last year and they looked fine at the end of the year.

This was before guidelines were set in the district. I have recently moved to a new district and have set up my room with the guidelines! It’s my newest video! 😊

What part of Kentucky are you in?(not to seem weird lol I’m from Kentucky as well) I start college this fall to become an early education teacher
What state are you in? In my Georgia district we were originally told we were returning with kids August 4th, but a couple of days ago they announced we’d be all distance learning for at least the first nine weeks of school. But, most likely longer. I know we still need to set up classrooms for when we finally do return. But, when we do guidelines say no common areas or shared materials. They also are going to get rid of our small group tables unless they can raise money for partitions. Kind of feeling unmotivated to set things up since I don’t know when we’ll be in the room or what the guidelines will say it’s allowed to have. We are allowed to work from our rooms for now though, so decorating may cheer me up at least. 😊 I like watching these setup videos though, because it gives me some sense of normalcy, which is much needed right now!
I’m in Kentucky! It’s so hard right now to stay motivated and plan for the classroom. I’m sure mine won’t stay the same but it’s nice to feel “normal”.
I really want to be able to do small group instruction and we just have to keep our fingers crossed 🤞🏻❤️

We all need to take a stand, like the school boards have. If your child's school is only offering online school, withdraw them so the school doesn't get paid from the feds. We all need to take a stand, enough is enough
Spending too much time getting you class room to look nice with pillows and the no nessesary stuff is a waste of time a lot of school are allowing the basic for the class room and decorating is not allowed but getting furniture ready is the only thing allowed desks chairs and that about it. Classrooms will look very plain this year.
