Why such a beautiful river would not have a ferry is beyond me. Are there no pleasure cruises even? We still have the Manly ferries in Sydney, but in typical government decision making fashion, the great old ferries are being retired, and the new ones can't handle the voyage! It does get pretty rough passing by the open ocean between North and South Heads, even on a calm day. I find it terrifying and always assume that we'll capsize, but what a journey it is! If ever you're in Manly, come and say g'day and hop on a ferry!
