- Dickies - Manny, Moe & Jack (Music Video)
I made this video using 1979 video footage of the Dickies when they lip-synced several songs in a studio to the original album tracks. I also utilized other public and archive footage and synced the all the edited video footage to the original digital audio track for all to enjoy.

Dickies - Manny, Moe & Jack 1979 Video by ATOMIC - Hudba
1979… it’s an absolute tragedy that these guys aren’t mentioned in the same breath as the Ramones.
I saw The Dickies with The Runaways open for The Ramones at the Santa Monica Civic in either 1977 or 1978.
Dickies were MUCH better than the Ramones.
They are where I'm from.
They still are@@chrisfurius
Absolutely. I used past tense since the Ramones are no longer.@@steveeslinger1299
Underrated band/song
I love that Len says "automo bee o" hahaha that's so quirky and special and funny!
One of the best Dickies songs ,for me.
Also you know who reminds me of Leonard is the excellent actor Crispin Glover! And the guitarist's face reminds me of the face of the character Felipe from 🥰Three's Company(but they don't really look alike. Only vaguely similar as he looks in this video).
Another thing I love in this video is: look how fastly Moe's and Jack's legs are walking at that one moment. Hilarious!😄
Loved the Dickies in the 70s... I had 2 of their albums one on piss yellow and one on blue vinyl 😊❤😊❤😊❤
The Dickies: The Warhol of early punk rock. God I loved these guys. Thank you Rodney Biggenheimer for introducing me to this band. Anyone remember?
They were the first band I saw live... 1980 at the Starwood in Hollywood! Rodney used to DJ there every Tuesday and Wednesday...
Remind me of the toy Dolls
Yes I remember!
KROQ! Rodney on the Roq!
Rodney On The Roq! I miss those days..
Russian 2023. Love❤
I'll add this - the car-crash sequences made me think of it - I'm from Islip (Long Island), New York, once home to the Islip Speedway, where I went several times in the 1960s. They had various kinds of races - stock-car, drag, etc. - but the best of all was the 100-Car Demolition Derby. Four heats of 25 cars each - bought at junk prices, like $10 a car - the object was to be the last car rolling. A minimum of gasoline in each tank. Generally everyone drove in reverse and tried to smash the other cars until they couldn't move. The winner and runner-up of each heat met in a final of eight cars. Viscerally exciting - the track cinders floated around and coated the froth on your cup of beer. A local man, Larry Mendelsohn, ran the speedway, and he seems to have invented this event - a stroke of genius, like the ancient gladiatorial combat of the Romans. The Islip Speedway was written up by Tom Wolfe in "Clean Fun at Riverhead", from his 1965 book "The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby". (Primo Levi, the Italian author, wrote a great short story set in modern times - one Saturday everyone is heading for the stadium to see the gladiators. But there are no lions, etc. - it's man versus car. The driver would attempt to run over his opponent, who had only a big hammer, and whose best move was to try to throw the hammer through the windshield of the car and disable the driver. Fans would discuss the finer points of the sport; the Morris Mini was favored for maneuverability and its solid construction - much more robust than a Fiat.)
They are Awesome. Killer band.
I don't know why they fell out of my awareness way back, probably around 1981, but this is so great; and I only just found out they're still doing it. Now I'm on the cusp of a fun new musical safari.
See them whenever you can 'cause they're getting ready to retire.
Wow, thanks man for posting this clip..
These guys we're big in California in the late 70s early 80s.
I'm not sure why some people here think they're so underrated?!!
And yes I'm an old geezer! 😆
The singer of the Bad Brains once said in an interview that this band inspired him to sing fast!!
People think they're underrated because lots and lots of people have not heard of them until recently even though it's a really old band and the music sound very fun! Fun always sells well so that's another reason people think - rightly - they're underrated.
PS: I'm probably not as geezery as you are but I was very young when this group was new and I only found they exist quite recently. I credit my hearing about them from the Bad Religion's drummer Bob Scheyer.( I hope I spelled his name accurately) Thanks, Bob!
PPS: I also love Bad Brains, I used to listen to them lots of times in the late 80s and after.
LEGEND!!!
For the right price they will sell you fuzzy dice... LOL. I really miss the days when music was fun and required actual skill to perform.
They are really blurry but if you look at the shop sign I'm pretty sure it has the fellas' names on it between the company's name.
I didn't know this song, but they are an excellent punk band. I found this video while looking for a file of the Manny, Moe, and Jack matchbook cover - a classic of design. I especially like Moe with his Clark Gable mustache. Back around 1980 in a Soho NY art gallery, I saw a piece in which the artist had taken a hundred or so Manny, Moe, and Jack matchbooks, arranged them in a grid, perforated the covers in three places at the groin position of each figure, then finally bent three matches in each book and forced them through the covers to suggest penises with red heads. Great, hilarious stuff. Don't know who the artist was, but I'll be looking for it. Many thanks to Atomic Video Jukebox for the fine video.
Love the Dickies very very underrated band Fan Mail Stukas over Disneyland banana splits gigantor I can keep going
Great song and awesome band (long time fan), but I wouldn't take my lawn mower to Pee Boys.
1979 fue un año q cambio la humanidad .
One day some serious, credible rock source will do a retrospective of The Dickies and put them up where They belong, which is the highest echelon of rock and roll.
What a fucking band
Amazing then !! going. To Camden despite rail strike July 20th don’t miss it
The guy can sure dance. (I've got to get me a pair of pants like those.)
Loved this band.

The hits keep coming....
I had a beater car with bad brakes that I took into Pep Boys for a quote and the brakes were so bad they wouldn't let me drive off with it unfixed. Those were the poor old days, lol. Driving around with bad brakes that you put the car in neutral and pray it stops.
Going on Thursday in Camden 44 years after I first saw them !! Sad to get old
never seen this video before
I put it together using some old archive studio lip sync footage and a bunch of car wreck videos...
@@AtomicVideoJukebox it’s really well done .. honestly though it was the music vid to it lol.. my dad used to play this to me when I was young I used to air guitar 🎸 my cricket bat ..thanks for posting
Anyone notice that Leonard's shirt was later copied by "The Dude" in The Big Lebowski?
the LA punk scene doesn't seem to get the attention of the NY or London scene. Though, they had trememdous influence.
If Stuart could talk, he'd sayv that the dickies rule!
Yes, his name is Stuart, and I assure you he can speak. And lately he finds himself astounded at the sort of company you keep....
I thot it was 'many more drugs'
2:22 lmfao
What's with the cast on the guitarist
His arm.
He broke his arm right before this was shot.
Maravilhosa banda. Esta música ajuda a tomar um ácido e pegar um ônibus para o inferno e ver corpos
Sadly pep boys is going tits up....But this song is still fucking great
