I would rather have short unproduced and natural Joji chat, than wait for a long time to hear from you, you have such a lovely calm manner that it is a pleasure to join you for a knit chat. I Love the look of the Fushia cardigan especially the v neck. I was wearing my Recoleta today and my Grandpa cardi yesterday. Samal and Elton are both in the planning stages. Of it only I had more time!!

Oh My Word Joji - you are amazing!! I don't think you realize the richness and authentic style you bring to the creative industry. You are such a natural beauty - I loved the "less produced" episode Joji!! Thank you for sharing your knitting genius with us. You are not old by the way - remember you are never too old to learn anything!! I am 59 and am still learning new skills and tricks every day. You are one clever lady and never apologize for your level of genius!! Your brain is still elastic even up to 100 years old. Keep on keeping on with your stunning designs and inspiration - I love everything about your style, knitting, designer patterns, bags and and and......!!! Thank you for your time, thank you for showing up just as you are - you are sooooo inspirational!!

Joji, #1- You are beautiful inside and out! No make-up or hair-do needed. We knitters are watching while sitting in our pajamas with dirty hair and circles under our eyes soooo……no worries, it’s come as you are. 😉💕
#2- Hire a photographer ( maybe local school has students who need a portfolio)

Joji I love the spontaneous episode. I love you without makeup and with wet hair and the total unplanned podcast. It had a lot of content despite you saying it didn't. You tend to want everything perfect and in place and planned, but in reality, it's not necessary. Just jump in when you're in the mood, press record, and just talk, and know that we will enjoy it. Love from NZ💜

I love what the cardigan became! It’s going to be gorgeous 😄. Truthfully, you looked beautiful, just as lovely as when you wear makeup. I just love visit from you, hearing what you are up to, Knit wise, bag wise and family wise. It’s like a lovely visit with a friend. No pressure to produce finished objects, ok? You can do what you like, we will enjoy your sharing, because that’s the fun of knitting with friends, and other creative people you just share what’s going on, what’s changed, and dreams or plans. Plans don’t always happen or they change, and that’s interesting, it’s just how creativity works, and you are so very creative, which is why we all love to watch.
It will be fun to figure out your new lights, just take your time. I think that is our problem. There is never enough time to do all the things we want. It’s a job deciding what gets the time. So thank you for making some time for us!
    Much love K

I had a very same problem when I had my own Business ..... I my case I had a very hard time “delegating “ the tasks that Could be made by someone else and would free me some time to do the things that I was excellent at ! I’m a perfectionist....I was hard to delegate to others . But after 4-5 years I was able to do that ,and It was a “game changer “, I could achieve more and I had a healthier and better balanced time schedule. Because When you are a “ creator “ in business, you have to keep nourishing yourself with the “making “ most of your time , if you want to keep yourself Happy in the business journey ... HAPPY maker is a Healthy maker in the long run....This is my experience from the past ,i’m retired now and I’m still using my hands to create everyday ,because i’m a maker ( manual ) and that’s what keeps me happy and healthy while I’m aging ...I love your patterns , shawls, sweaters and socks ! Your are such a talented creator and entrepreneur , please take care of You ! Brava ! Salutations de Québec 💕🍀🌈👋

I learned how to knit continental style late (I was over 50). It is really re-training your brain. I just had to sit for a whole weekend and just do it non-stop. Now I only knit continental style. It was ribbing that was the game changer - so much faster. My daughter’s name is Magenta. The best color. That yarn is beautiful.

LisaR : Love seeing what your up to Joji! You're always doing such beautiful projects ♥️ I enjoyed seeing your work in progress and the idea for purling/ slipping on color work ! I can remember thinking that could work for both sides when I was on my twenties and telling my knitting buddy about the idea ( I was having a hard time learning color work- mostly bc of wrong yarns :) When my friend Said it wasn't going to work , Idk why I dropped the idea . I was thrilled to see you thought of it , in a much better way . Thanks too for sharing your thoughts about feeling productive enough . When we become moms , I think we can do all the things bc it's what we do to give our kids everything that's important to their growth & well being . I think Moms are capable of some amazing scheduling on little sleep - it's almost like a switch turned off when my last two of 7 graduated from law school and MBA ... I suddenly was actually tired . I'm slower at everything I do . Even cooking for two , takes me twice as long as when I did for 9 ! I actually filmed my self to see what was different... Only one thing , I had a lot of social media coming at me while I was cooking. You're spot on there . It does have two sides.. , I recall something my husband said before we were married " Sometimes , you have to step back and remember why you wanted to do a thing to begin with" Its probably the best advice I've ever had . Life moves too fast to stop and ponder- sometimes it's good to slow down and allow yourself to step back ♥️ Thanks Joji , you gave a lot more" content " than you give yourself
    Credit for :)

I had the same thought when I first saw the name malabrigo 😂 Thanks for sharing what you’re working on! I love your work and find you to be so positive and relatable. I am not an expert on the brain but want to share … our brains do remain “plastic” … I am currently listening to an audiobook by Dr Sanjay Gupta where I am learning more about that idea (book is entitled Keep Sharp). Often I think it’s a matter of time so it’s totally understandable that when you’re so busy it’s harder to learn new techniques.

Don’t beat yourself up! It was nice to see the natural beauty that you are! Enjoy being 40, each age brings new things some good, and some challenges. Thank you for being so human. I am astounded always by how much you accomplish. I think many of us like you feel overwhelmed by how much we want to do. I'm thrilled that you are not a continental knitter yet! I, too, have tried but, honestly I'll never be as fast as I am currently as an English knitter- how much faster do you think you'll be? probably not much faster and definitely not as relaxed. I can knit continental but continental purling has never come easily to me And You are a beauty and need no makeup for your fans to witness your inner and outer beauty.

I also feel overwhelmed trying to keep up with all the latest things, or with all the craftspeople I find fascinating. I’m not even a producer of content, I’m just a watcher, but there is just so much interesting content out there and I want to learn everything. I seem to spend more time watching than I do making. Honestly, I felt way more busy when my kids were teenagers too. Of course social media added to the distractions, my kids were teens when I was figuring out social media and I also felt really influenced by it in my daily life and family life. Since then I've gotten better at using it. But I think teens need us just as much as when they were toddlers plus they need us more in different ways, not just in instinctual ways.
I hope to be able to buy a bag this year. They are so beautiful and its hard to find a good leather bag where I live.

    Also, makeup is overrated!😊

Hello Joji, I totally get your desire to come to grips with continental knitting. I too learned "english" first. It took some time but I am so happy that I stuck with continental. I know it's not about the speed for the sake of speed but it is faster and there is less effort and less hand and finger fatigue.

Hi! About continental knitting. I have tried both continental and flicking and I find that using the flicking method works up faster. Both of them came quite naturally to me because I crochet as well and they feel similar in movement to crochet, but I find that continental knitting tends to mess with my tension and flicking keeps it even.
If you haven't tried the flicking method yet: Flicking is just a different way of holding the needles while keeping the yarn close to it. That way your hands constantly stay on the needles. There are many CZcams tutorials available if you haven't tried it yet.

It’s just feels like a chat with a friend. So precious. Thank you joji. Perfectly imperfect xx

Hola Joji! Que placer verte de nuevo en tu journal! Se ve bonita sin maquillaje! Creo que con la pandemia todo nos cuesta mas, todo parece mas dificil. Changing to English because I don't know all the terms in Spanish! I've tried continental too and my stitches come out so loose. That colorwork sweater is beautiful, the motif reminds me of flowers. I liked the way you did it back and forth and that you explained it - good to have an easier way to do colorwork back and forth. Hasta la proxima!

It’s always so good to see you and hear about what you’re working on!! You seem very tired though, and missing your knitting. When my work life isn’t in balance I know how stressful that can be…I wish for you more knitting time and more relaxation time! Make sure you are taking care of yourself ❤️

1- as everyone else has said, you can totally rock no makeup!
    2- that pink sweater 🤩
3- in case you didn't know, Fuse Fiber Studio closed 😔 I was so sad because her colors were so my palette!
4- for continental knitting, maybe practice it on your sock projects that aren't new designs. Then you can keep learning it without it affecting your speed and gauge on design projects
Looking forward to the episode with your mom (I'm slowly catching up 😂)

You are lovely as you are. Remember to be kind to yourself. I think you need to make a workplan, I fear you get serious stress some day. Think about what you want to do and what you dont want to do - you cant carry on like this - know its hard. Best wishes from Denmark
