    I forgot to mention something very important . The Bose Pro32 has a dispersion of 180 degrees. This was very evident when I walked far away. In all directions the volume remained the same to the sides and at a distance. In comparison traditional speakers have a dispersion between 90-105 degrees. None of the other competing Bluetooth speakers have anywhere near 180 degree dispersion. This is a major reason performers and listeners pay more for Bose technology.

    After almost a year no regrets! Still no other system which is as portable can touch this performance! For you Audiophiles out there I challenge you: For $3,300 name a complete Hifi system that can equal or surpass this performance at high dBs. At low to medium volumes any good Studio Monitor will have cleaner high end/SQ. Bose has rolled off highs that even EQing doesn't solve completely. I personally play my music loud from 85-100+dB! At those volumes with the 180 degree throw that only Bose produces this is the closest I have experienced to Live music reproduction in a home environment.

      Curious if you’ve heard the Maui 44 G2…. I’m seeing a lot of DJs using these speakers. About the same price as the pro32

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz

      @@chromemusic4401 No. never heard it, Besides volume/bass performance, very different . Maui is super heavy, at that weight I'm taking a pair of QSC K12.2's over QSC KS118sub. Pro32/Sub2 is literally a 5min. set up/tear down. Weight to performance ratio is the best in the business!
      No company matches the 180 degree dispersion of the Bose and all the advantages that come with it. Pro32 might have a longer throw, not sure? Maui probably has your typical PA sound. Bose has that super smooth/Hi-fi mids that people either love or hate.

      @@WWeiss-nv5vz I absolutely love the Bose sound and I saw in one of your comments you said Bose rolled off some of the highs in the lower to medium volumes on the Pro series. My ears didn’t deceive me. A little eq magic can put it right back. Thanks for the reply

      @@chromemusic4401 EQ boosting the highs does make a difference to a certain extent.
      My solution is to line out to an aux speaker that has a more traditional PA clean high end. I gain stage the aux speaker just enough to blend. It makes a huge difference! I use any of the following: QSC,EV,RCF, or JBL.

    Since making this video Bose has come out with a Firmware update for the Sub2. In my tests I had clipping on the sub at 110dB. Since the update the gain can now be set much higher before clipping. I have not done any further max dB tests but I am sure the system can get much closer to Bose's max dB stats of 129dB before clipping. Since I am not DJing I am not going to be doing any further max dB tests, but take my word for it- this system is LOUD!

    400 watts will definitely work! The issue is if you are DJing or playing a gig at high volume over 2+ hours then you need a more powerful unit. The louder you play say 100dB the shorter the run time. In that case maybe 800 watts. Check out this latest video: czcams.com/video/8-mEhLx-MHQ/video.html

    Hi your videos are very helpful. I'm not a DJ but a one-man band using full-band backing tracks. I own the Bose L1 Type 2 and will be selling it to get the S32. Two questions: So bottom line can the S32 handle a medium/large size outdoor if I were to raise the levels slightly higher? Will the bass be heard in distances long per than 30/40 ft? And the 2nd question on the Expert power, forgive my ignorance, can I plug a good heavy duty outlet strip into it. Because I have more than 3 outlets worth of equipment to power. Thanks in advance

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 3 lety

      Yes you can plug a power strip no problem. If your previous L1M2 handled your gig outside then Pro32 is louder. Bass outside is tricky. I tested at 15 feet and it was powerful! At 40 feet expect considerably less output. Keep in mind in the future you can pair two Sub2s on one power stand but that costs $$$. One Sub2 = 2x - 3x the B2.

    So I dont need to buy the set of these? 1 speaker and subwoofer is okay for crowds of 50-200? Also will this sound great with a full band, with different sounds coming from one speaker?

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 2 lety

      Usually only DJs buy a set for looks and having a second for backup. 50 -150 people would be easy, some people say 200 people is pushing it. Full band, I can't say I've never done it. Bands usually stick with conventional speakers with horn tweeters.

      For this test outside, I was not playing at max volume, neither the sub or column were near clipping, but it was pretty loud, 100.7dB . I played for about 45 min. and had no problems. On two different times testing the Sub1 at home at max volume with bass heavy content the Sub1 shut down. I believe it was the protection circuitry of the Sub1 kicking in. Hopefully I didn't damage anything. Playing at normal volumes I don't think there is any issue. I have lost confidence in the system. If I had to do it again I would buy a battery of at least 700 watts.

      All three are good products. What sold me on Ecoflow is it has a Bluetooth App which is handy. It beats all others by charging from 0-80% in 1 hour!
      I tested the Pro32/Sub2 at max volume with the Ecoflow Pro and it pulled a max 238 watts at 103dB. Ecoflow rated at 720wH but figure 80% efficiency so that puts you at 576wH. 576wH divided by 238 max watts= 2.4hours. If you play at normal volumes say 90dB it will pull much less watts, maybe 70-80 watts which would =7 hours.

Sub2 is not going to equal 18" QSC subs but performs similar to a good 15"sub. People state they play up to 400 people with a pair. 180 degree dispersion is something to experience, and the throw is incredible. These max out at 128dB which will not match the 130dB++ of those JBLs. Best advice try them out. Both Bose and Guitar center have great return policies. You might want to pose this question on the Bose Facebook Forum, a lot of gigging pros.

    Another important fact is that the Expert Power, power station has three AC outlets. This is critical for other devices like a mixer. The Jackery 500 which is more powerful at 500 watts has only one AC input. Deal Breaker for me!

      @@walawala147 The Jackery 500 only has one AC input. That's a limiting factor in my opinion. I never played this setup for extended times. On my 444Wh unit it went down one bar out of 5 at close to 100dB after one hour. I estimate safely 4 hours at DJ volume. The louder you play the quicker the battery is depleted. At moderate volumes say 85dB maybe 9-10 hours. Again never tested it, just guesstimating:)

      I own two Sub1's and two S1 Pro's... I'm considering a pair of Pro 32's with Sub1's for flexibility (using a pair of Sub1's instead of a single heavier Sub2). The only thing that concerns me (besides the price!) is the durability of the columns. Can they be easily knocked over? And being aluminum instead of steel - are they considerably more delicate? We must be leading parallel lives - because - I also have many of the same speakers and have been experimenting with battery power!

      @@bestproaudio4255 No it is sturdy, I would say the column of the Pro32 can not be easily knocked over, but the super light weight aluminum columns are "easily" dented. I've already seen two cases on the Bose Facebook Forum of people who have dented their columns. Don't depend on the flimsy thin bag Bose provides. Get some real cases - a hard case would be best. Two Sub1s = 1 Sub2 but without that ultra low end 37Hz of the Sub2.

In my testing for this video I was using Bluetooth Ch3. Ch3 there is zero hiss. At home I use a mixer. Gain at 9:00-10:00 zero hiss. Mixer at unity, super loud! Slight hiss starts at 11:30 but need to be inches from the column. If you need the gain at 12:00+ you probably need much larger point source speakers that play at 130dB+ ,thinking JBL/RCF/QSC

      I agree it was nowhere near 128db and I didn't test at one meter because in a live situation few people will stand one meter from the speaker. My results are for real world situations so people can compare them to other speakers. First I mentioned I was in a public park, second it was outside and no company measures max dB outside. In fact when companies give you max SPL stats, that's from specially treated acoustic rooms and will be almost impossible to reproduce by the consumer. Last this system is brand new over $3,000+ and I will not push it to its max for the sake of a CZcams video. The best we can go on is the manufactures specs. Thanks for your feedback.
