OV chip kaart is OK but you need to maintain a balance on it an you still need to buy the card without credit.. much better use your Bank card while travelling or buy a 1 week GVB ticket.

Machines are mostlikeliy in every metro and train stations, only major of tram stops has. (like museum square)
