It is not only terrible from a songwriting standpoint, but wrong from a spiritual standpoint. (And I know there is sinful content in country music generally... I think your right on the nose with all of these songs, I literally have to shut off my radio, because I'm so annoyed by all the crap that they call county these days. I grew up listening to the 70s 80s & 90s, much better when it was about story telling and about real life.

2013 bro-country was my way into country music. I listened to Blake Shelton's 'Based on a true story' Album on a trip to the states east coast in late 2014 and that was so my kind of thing that I looked up other country. I found bro country and that kept me interested in country and pushed me towards the more accepted country of geniuses like George Strait and Hank

I totally agree! I was a huge KU fan from the moment he released “Golden Road”. I was a KU concert junkie. No more. At some point I had to just say “no - just no”. He began to devolve into recording too many songs about riding in cars and getting the girl blah blah blah like he was freaking 18 years old. So bland and just so juvenile. I really hate that I feel this way because I was such a fan. As a matter of fact I am a fan...but I’m just a fan of his early music.

Happy New Year everyone!!! For three years since 2017 until 2020 I was a pop and K-Pop fan. I diverted from country music because the people around me (my classmates) are not listening to it, and they're listening to this bubbly bubblegum pop type of music, and I'm pressured that if I don't change and go like them, I'll be left behind. What's worse, I kept obsessing on it though I really don't understand what those Korean songs mean, and I even did song covers and dance covers just to fit in but they were super cringy and I realized that music is really not for me. So this year I went back to my roots because that's how I was raised in my childhood and that's what I should grow up listening. So what can I say, 2020 has been a good year because I was able to reflect on myself and go back to being a full country music fan again. In other words, I learned how to be myself again to the music I genuinely love.
