  • We got to experience the 2024 solar eclipse in the Ozarks, right in the path of totality and right in the middle of some of the most beautiful scenery in the USA! We found a new-to-us dispersed camp spot on the Illinois Bayou and boon-docked for 4 days in the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest, north of Russellville, Arkansas.
We camped, hit some trails, including a section of Illinois Bayou Granite Luge trail, checked out Brock Cemetary and Boyd Cemetary, and took in a couple waterfalls on Sulphur Creek. The Ultimaytums did join us, but their appearance in this video is very brief, as we hit a snafu with our hitch that meant an 8-hour detour right in the middle of our group time!
The central Ozark scenery continues to amaze, and being in the middle of a forest during totality was definitely a once in a life time experience. Worth the trip, even the traffic on the way home!
