I also think he did an amazing job as Xiao Ge. He is pretty and has this dark mysterious vibe. Also he is a ballet dancer what probably help him in the fighting choreography. I just loved him in this drama. And seriously, the chemistry between Xiao Yu Liang and Joseph Zheng is just so perfect 😍

I love the part when Wu Xie gave Xiao Ge a new sword that shows how much Wu Xie Loves and cares about Xiao Ge and we know that sword will be treasured by Xiao Ge cause it was given to him by his soulmate and other half of his soul.
^^ If only they covered book 8 as well when WuXie straight up goes to rescue him and XiaoGe says that famous line “WuXie is my only connection to the normal world” :’)

Zhang will be safe. He and the rest will be stuck in the Zhang lost tomb, but Wu Xie and Fatty will come back to save him. He will be the only one Wu Xie save along with fatty. No worries. Wu xie will take him home at the end safe :) and wu xie is the only connection that Zhang has in this world (book 8).

@@toffeelatte5060 I can’t tell much since I read here and there, not a complete novel, but I read some information from website that at the very end, Wu Xie really takes Zhang home. Zhang goes to the “snow mountain,” staying there for Wu Xie for 10 years (the one who is supposed to be there is Wu Xie) after saying my favorite statement that Wu Xie is his only connection to the world. After 10 years, Wu Xie comes to that “snow mountain” and opens the bronze gate and takes Zhang home. What surprise me is that Zhang still remembers Wu Xie after 10 years despite his forgetfulness. I bet he Zhang 10 years later forgets everything else, except Wu Xie (and Fatty). He said “Wu Xie, you are old.”

I hoped given the popularity of this series (and the hype of this last installment) they will somehow find a way to make the last 2 volumes to conclude the series (and then the author can spew out as many sequels as he’d like lol)
I just really hoped they’d keep this pairing again (all 3, not just PingXie) though it probably a very small hope :( but they managed to get the same person played Zhang RiShan 3 times and same XiaoGe for twice (and some other chars for multiple times too) so I really hoped that this team gets the author’s approval and he’ll bring them back for one last time
PS: if anyone knew any sort of petition that we can sign so the production team will consider these fan’s request, please let me know where I can sign one (or three lol)
The author personally picked Xiao Yuliang to play Zhang Qiling for Tomb of the Sea, but then he picked HJJ for Reunion afterwards so 🤷🏻♀️( he also picked YangYang & Jing BoRan).
It is rare for leads in Chinese dramas to commit to more than one season because they want to expand & branch out, it’s a competitive field in their industry. And also they can only give it their best. RiShan is a smaller role (ish) & he’s still an up and coming actor.
It’s the same with Hou Daofu - same actor in tomb of the sea and Reunion. And so on.
As for this production company ~ they lost the rights to the author in 2019 & so it’s up to the author’s own company. They are full aware of how popular it is given how many records Reunion broke (& the lead actor won an award). The author’s production company always makes highly rated dramas so they’re all aware.
Ultimate Note is going well too, which is nice as it’s the first one by this company to rate higher as it keeps airing.
This franchise is a big IP and there are two productions coming (Heavenly Palace in the Clouds (they already cast new XiaoGe & WuXie, granted it’s also this company before they lost the rights). And Tibetan Sea Flowers (no word on that yet).

It was such a pain and an excitement to see different people playing the same characters, but at least it also gives some sort of novelty every time I watched a new installment.. at least I get to discover new faces that also helps me found new other series to watch ^^
I guess we can only wait for the new installments to come out and re-enjoy the glory all over again :D hoped to see you all again in the next season!!

Did I mention she 👏🏽 knelt 👏🏽 before Zhang 👏🏽 Qiling 👏🏽 The leader of the Hou clan knows who is the boss.
It is more like Grandma Hou didn’t recognize Zhang Qiling in the restaurant/hotel. But when she saw his fingers she knew instantly and went down on her knees because he is the true pure blood Zhang clan leader. Then she showed him his seat at the head of the table. But XiaoGe’s mind isn’t 100% and all he knows is whatever his heart tells him. And his heart tells him “nah, I wanna go home, home being wherever WuXie is.” But he knows she’s on to something - why else go on that final mission. That scene in the office/meeting is so significant because it shows how powerful XiaoGe is/was - how his clan and family was. PingXie love aside and it is all there, Grandma Hou means no harm - if anything she’d think the sole heir to the Wu Clan “teaming” up with the last pure blood Zhang clan leader would make the mystic nine unstoppable - xiao Hua as head of his Xie clan and then the future head of the Hou clan (Daofu who becomes WuXie’s close friend and business associate).

When she knelt in front of Xiaoge, that was the best feel good moment in the entire Season (besides PingXie 🤫) enough to fuel me through the remaining angst angst angst 😭

Lmao Grandma Hou left her clan in good hands (after tomb of the sea 😅) Do you know the current new leader Hou Daofu? he’s so freaking special - the first ever male leader of the Hou clan, a “foreigner” because he grew up and hid in Germany and other countries in Europe after his parents were assassinated. And WuXie just trusts him with everything, like everything single thing ~ his business, his life...etc and the freaking author won’t reveal why.

Mr Director, pls have a 2nd season with a much happier ending. Do have all the same players for the main roles. A sad ending really bugs me for several weeks and every time I think of it. 😔
I am really annoyed at how this one ended. Also in the last few episodes we didn't even get Wuxie and Xiao ge together. This one is still my favourite part of the series, and I love Long ge for the next series (spoilers, however it's really sad). But still I don't want this one to end.

The saga has left everyone in suspense but I do believe there is continuation because so many are trapped at the Zhang Old Mansion. Anyone puzzled by this story should rewatch the original Lao Jui Men. The original series has many clues. Follow it slowly so you will be able to find the hints. Trust me cause I write Historical Sci Fi. This is just to whet your appetites.
And yet the author holds the legal rights and so he is in charge of whether we get a sequel to this (covering Volume 8 of the books). However, Tibetan Sea Flowers is a Zhang Qiling origins story is has been bought by a production company.

BUT The Wu Xie And Xiao Ge in ULTIMATE NOTE were PERFECT for the roles. The expressions, the way they cared for each other, the anxiousness when the either was not there or gone, the pain in their eyes, those small smiles when they were together, the talking with eyes, oh my god, I could list everything here..
I am currently reading the books now.. Thought I would see if there's any difference in the series and books.

Your favorites are all BL stories, minus Ultimate Note that’s PingXie.
Guardian was pure BL & romantic, so BL it got banned for a while. 😅 The Untamed was also BL only subtle. The book is very explicit. Guardian’s book is also explicit. What you see as bromance is actually romance just toned down because of censorship. Haven’t you heard of WeiLan, in the book they are a married couple. and as for LanZhan and Wei WuXian ~ same thing.
You can try Winter Begonia, Detective L, Anti Fraud League, Psych-Hunter, & My Roommate is a detective.
One coming out soon is called Into Darkness which is a bromance police thriller drama...ahem based off a BL novel. The majority of bromances you see are actually based of BL novels but censorship says no, so they make do. Ultimate Note is an exception because PingXie. That’s it’s only genre. 😉

No news as of yet. It’s up to the author’s production company and there hasn’t been any word on making volumes 8&9 (which be the next part of this story) into a drama. The only things listed are Tibetan Sea Flowers (Zhang Qiling origins story) & Heavenly Palace in The Clouds (prequel to Ultimate Note).

Just remember in Reunion S2 Xiao Ge is living with a 43 y/o WuXie and literally bringing home the dinner. But This still hurts though.
XiaoGe tells WuXie to take him home, home is WuXie’s house. DO I NEED TO SAY MORE ABOUT THESE TWO. Basically wherever WuXie is that is XiaoGe’s home.
I knew it was coming, I knew it, but it still hurts more than getting an actual tattoo (PangZi pls). Why does Zhang Qiling & WuXie always bring tears istg first in Reunion & now this.
Man, I loved this version so much, to see the books literally come to life. But the ending hurts, because WuXie’s just a broken soul of a man. ;_;
Grandma Hou is a mood when it comes to Zhang Qiling. And so is PangZi, man, he’s like an adopted big Bro/dad(?) to XiaoGe and I loved they showed them. But man, my heart for WuXie like a lost puppy ;_; it hurts, man.
WuXie, I advise him to go to back to the village where PangZi got his “tattoo” & follow the tradition of getting ink in tribute to the one he’s most devoted to. I mean he craved a sword for him and just ...I wish it had ended with them in another way but ...**sighs**

Xiao Ge, PangZi, Grandma Huo & her team go into the Huo Tomb. They don’t return or come out. Black Glasses gets himself taken by one of the cave monsters to save Xiao Hua.
WuXie and Xiao Hua then go on their own mission to find out what happened to WuXie’s uncle, and to Xiao Ge and PangZi, and Grandma Huo who are missing and presumed to be dead. The show ends like that.

It is the end, yes. Not of the story, it continues in the book volumes 8 (WuXie rescues XiaoGe) & vol.9. This production company lost to rights to the author (who has his own company), so there will be no more seasons with this company. But the author might continue it in the future. As of right now the only dramas in the works are Heavenly Palace in the Clouds (prequel to this) and Tibetan Sea Flowers (is WuXie exploring XiaoGe’s origins story).

Zhang qishan is the head of mystic nine but zhang qiling is the patriarch of the zhang family and qisan was actually searching for zhang qiling. FYI the zhang qiling who led the mystic nine is the ghost in banai not our xaio ge

Right so here’s the deal: XiaoGe leaves and disappears for a long time. WuXie feels a lot of sadness and hopes/prays he’ll be okay. After this drama & story comes Tibetan Sea Flowers (which is a sequel to this series by the author and a prequel to Tomb Of The Sea). In this WuXie finds a painting of young man in the post office from Nepal. And his chilled yet kinda sad life is interrupted again by the sudden visit of Jin Wantang (you may know him from Reunion he’s an old antiques dealer PangZi teased a bit). He has for WuXie a scorpion-shaped pendant from the Zhang family ancient mansion, which was closely related to Zhang Qiling in his childhood. In pursuit of clues, Wu Xie went to Nepal again and then moved to Medog county. In Medog, all kinds of clues related to Zhang Qiling are coming. Wu Xie realized that him seeing that painting of a young man in the post office that made his heart flutter wasn’t a coincidence. Someone put it there. And Wu Xie and PangZi go on this adventure to find out more about Zhang Qiling's background and the mystery behind Zhang Family. This story has been bought by a production company back in 2017 at the same time Reunion was commissioned, but there is little or no other info other than that. Basically Sea Flowers is what everyone wants the most because it shows everything and deepens WuXie’s bond with him without them even being together properly.

Nothing as there is no sequel. But in terms of dramas in the Lost Tomb series: that would be Sand Sea, but it’s set 10 years into the future.

@@rozitamohamedrazi7244 Because it was WuXie’s turn to do guard the Bronze Gate (Mystic 9 clans take it in turns and it was the Wu’s turn). But Zhang Qiling took his place and guarded it for him so he could be free.

He didn’t mean to leave him, but he and PangZi went together to search for the answers to his origins with Grandma Hou. They made it to the tombs and took photos all the way to share with WuXie, but after they go in to the final one - we don’t see them
anymore. We only see WuXie learn of their fate. But we know they’ll all be fine - we’ve both watched Reunion.

but they are all together on every journey so why they did't bring wu xie along with them this time or wu xie has another plan??
@@wishmehar8624 Another plan but also it’s better for WuXie to be outside because (in book 8) he goes and finds him, rescues him and that is their brotherhood really becomes so strong as XiaoGe sees WuXie will never give up on him. And that is when XiaoGe says “WuXie is my only connection to the normal world” and it’s very nice. (It’s in book volume 8)

All of this great storyline will be even greater, for me at least, if the cast stays the same.. For me to keep my feelings.. Kinda hard to have to keep trying to connect again and again with new cast. Kinda confusing for my simple mind too..
