Some great images presented here which in my mind, reveal a number of important technical layers. Firstly, the work showcases just how effective high contrast images can be. Secondly - and as was pointed out with the fork shot, illustrate how photography can be optically deceptive after the initial viewing. Thirdly - and most importantly of all from my perspective, these photos serve to illustrate how important it is to move closer and to have the subject fill the frame. 'Move closer' is something I'm constantly trying to instill before I release the shutter. Good stuff.

He's a very intersting guy, jazz artist and ex merchant navy guy. Loyal to dangerous crop and his own 2 dimensional ethos.

Over exposure in shooting and over developing the negative.
