- For this video I'm going to be doing something a little different and sharing my thoughts on 4K and Blu-ray Collector Editions that I would love to own in my collection. A huge shout out to everyone who suggested doing a video like this and fingers crossed it will help me out sometime in the future.

Lake Mungo is amazing. It’s amazing because its so low budget and its just not what you’d expect! Brilliant, freaky horror though.

I have the studio canal edition but I would love to get the scream factory just for the Dolby Atmos. But I won't buy it unless I can get it in that deluxe release. The problems of a movie collector
I must say Keith your collection is absolutely awesome. I’ve just had a count up of my mega collection 988 movies probably about 50 that I bought from the Internet.

I am also an avid steelbook collector and during the 15 years I have been collecting there have been a number of precious steelbooks that have passed me by.
Some of these include:
Terminator 2 Steelbook
Hard Target steelbook
Kickboxer steelbook
Sunshine steelbook
Jumanji steelbook
Eternal Sunshine steelbook
Polar Express steelbook
Like you I actually had some of these posted to me but got lost in the post!!!
As these items are rare, it becomes harder and harder to find them.
Steelbooks can be a very tricky thing. Some of them go for absolutely ridiculous money. Apparently some of the older Blu-ray Steelbook Editions are incredibly rare like for instance The Descent and 28 Weeks Later. I noticed a lot of the 20th Century Fox ones are going for serious money. Honestly I hope you can find them sometime in the future at the right price.

I'm 💯 with you Keith. Some sets are absolutely crazy money. There are a couple of Second Sight LE releases I wish I'd got; The VVITCH and Lake Mungo specifically, but no way I'm paying £150+ for them.
Yeah it's very hard to pay that kind of money Steve when you know how much they originally went for. 150 pounds is absolutely crazy and there's no way I would ever entertain that.
I too want that Hitchcock Edition. That is the exact one I am in the hunt for as well. There is 3 I have seen that are very similar. The one you have, then the Birds one you mentioned and showed, and I also saw a Vertigo version, basically the same as the Birds with a different back art on the plexi glass.
I like the Birds one the most and hope to get it someday. I do have 2 other box sets with all the same releases at least. The UK box set, which was a nice booklet. Nicer than the US version. Then also snagged the House box with the lenticular art on it.
But the Birds one is still my favorite.
The problem is not so much finding the edition but trying to get it at the price I almost got it for. I am very confident someday I will get it. But there is releases in this video where I have to be somewhat realistic particularly the Friday the 13th edition. It's never going to happen unfortunately. I never picked up that house box set. I really must look into it someday

@disturbedliberate anywhere I can help Christian. All you have to do on your end is to declare the item as cheap as possible and it should be okay. But even so I wouldn't imagine it would cost too much. Just send me a message on Instagram and we'll sort something out
Great video Keith, nice idea. That Friday 13th set looks incredible, but you're right, nowhere near worth that money. My most coveted set is the Infinity Saga edition that we can see over your shoulder when you're on camera! Maybe someday I'll get it...

Hey Keith. Soooo impressed (and jealous) by your collection. I've seen a lot of YT collections, but the only one comperable to yours is Wilsonian Movie Museum. As far as true collectors editions go, you 2 are the top of the list. Well done.
Believe it or not Dave it's because of Willsonian Movie Museum that I have the collection that I have. I was such a fan of his channel and I miss him so much. But thank you so much for the incredibly kind comment. To actually put me in his League is very flattering to say the least.
The US and Europe always get some tasty box sets that we never get, and the charges to import them are insane! I hope you do one day get They Live at a decent price.
Believe it or not out of everything that I spoke about in that video they live is the one I desperately want. I'm sure it's going to happen someday. Whether I can get it at the right price that's another thing altogether
@millerman9991 the set I'm after is the 6 disc one of DUNE from Germany. I missed the first print as it goes for silly money and had the soundtrack with it. But I'll need to bite the bullet soon. I've a feeling the They Live set will fall into your lap. Maybe try on some of the Facebook movie selling pages and even posting that its a want. One im on is Cult Cinema Collectors Club, and they get some good stuff come up once in a while.
I actually have that Dune edition that you are talking about. It's probably one of the nicest 4K releases I've ever seen. I'm sure I will get they live sometime in the future. I just need to be a little bit more patient. I am on a lot of those groups on Facebook but unfortunately nothing has come on them so far. But I am confident
@millerman9991 nice 👌 I'm kicking myself because I've seen it at about 300 and there's no way I'm paying that. Same as the Bruce Lee at Golden Harvest 4k set. I refuse to pay the prices the ebay sellers want.
@usr1retro319 and you are right not to pay for scalper prices. That's the problem because you know how much these Editions originally went for and it's always hard to pay over that

You know as well as I do John as soon as I finished shooting that video of course I thought of another six or seven editions. It's never ending. You had me checking ebay trying to see if anything popped up to try help you Keith, its a pity aswell i did find a they live sacred bones one time for about 90 dollars and i hate hearing those stories about the post cockups, could there be anything worse for a collector, especially for a rare piece. I can never find bluray copies of masters of horror let alone that mediabook bust, thats definitely a holy grail, i also missed a chance to get one of the alien parts of the one click for around 100 and messed up. Theres many mediabooks id like aswell such as the trump they live ones and the faculty one i linked you. That guy i follow on Instagram with the huge mediabook collection has that friday set, almost certainly at msrp since hes in Germany.
Yeah it was a very strange thing Steve when it came to doing this video because I sat in my chair for almost a half an hour to 40 minutes trying to think of what I could put in this video and I couldn't think of many. I was really surprised because I thought there would be a lot more out there. There's a difference between something you need and something you want. Somebody contacted me yesterday and believe it or not they actually found one of the editions in this video and they are sending it my way. I'm absolutely gob smacked. Very curious to find out which release it is. I was hoping this video would help me in the future but I didn't think that was going to happen. @millerman9991 I saw that message now, and there's always a chance someone has access to one of them in some way that's not ebay and luckily he had, so that's good news. I see the us bluray of masters of horror around sometimes and never complete, and then sometimes complete in German for 200 quid. I had a look even just there and only saw series 1 vol 1 on a us bluray and nothing else.
If I won the Lottery I would go movie buying NUTZ!, I already have a great collection, but I just love collecting movies so much, I would be buying $1000 of stuff that I don't have per day and create the greatest collection the world has ever seen! hahah :)
I would buy every 4k criterion release right off the hop, because I only am collecting their 4K line, and next I would complete my scream factory and arrow and a complete set of Twilight Time blurays... I would go crazy buying stuff, and then I'd go hard on Media Books and Nameless Media Busts
I think myself and you are on the exact same wavelength. I would do the same thing myself. I think the first thing I would focus on is getting myself a huge space to play with. Much similar to wilsonian Museum. Then I would go to town on everything.
I have a super rare Space Jam edition on offer at £500k bargain 😊
I have Aquaman and birds of prey Film Arena 1 clicks boxed and sealed Also a blue fans Spartacus you mentioned. Lots of other stuff I bought a lot but never had time or space to open them So will sell when I have free time So if you are interested in them at some point later this year they are here Dont want to use ebay and better they go to a good home.

Yeah I've just heard about it and I'm so happy that I haven't recently pre-ordered anything from them because something's telling me it's going to be a nightmare getting your money back. I hope it's not the case because I have a few friends who have pre-ordered releases with them.
Great choices there. Quite surprised myself how quick Lake Mungo went out of stock. Highly recommend the film, very well made. Alien is just ridiculous. Seen it sell for a grand! Never seen that Friday set before.
Unfortunately a lot of the titles in this video I'm going to have to be somewhat realistic and realize I'm never going to own. The Friday the 13th and alien in particular. Normally I would say never Say Never but in that case I honestly can't see it happening
Awesome video and some great stories. The Friday The 13th boxset looks amazing, every Jason mask being on each mediabook is a very cool design motif. I really need to see the full series of Masters of Horror some day, I think I've only seen a couple of episodes. I saw a similar series called Fear Itself, which has one of my favourite tv horror episodes ever called The Sacrifice.
As beautiful as that Friday the 13th box set is I really have to be somewhat realistic. There is no way I could ever spend that kind of money regardless of how much I love the series. I remember seeing a bluray edition of that series fear itself but I never got around to watching it. I really need to look into grabbing myself a copy. I wouldn't mind but if they could explain to you what happened at least that would be something but all I got was one person blaming the other and vice versa. The horrible thing is the editions that I lost out on in terms of the post I have never come remotely close to getting them since. But I am very persistent and I'm sure someday it will happen. I just wish that the rest of the Hitchcock films would get a bluray release, Rebecca, Notorious, Spellbound and Foreign Correspondent could do with bluray releases, I have most of the others I can't understand why they don't get releases, my favourite boutique label is Indicator, I've just spent a fortune on their latest sale.Great video, keep it up Keith.
Hey Laura. Something is telling me it's to do with the source material for a lot of those movies. I have a funny feeling they are in very bad shape and that's probably why we haven't seen them on Blu-ray or 4k. But never say never. Hopefully someday it will happen. Would you believe me if I told you that I only have one edition in my collection from Indicator. I really should look into a few more. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by
@@millerman9991Keith, sorry to have to correct you but you couldn't be more wrong about the source material. Criterion U.S released stellar Blu-rays of Foreign Correspondent, Notorious and Rebecca on Blu-ray though they are region A locked. The MGM blu-rays of Notorious, Rebecca and Spellbound are very poor in comparison though have the advantage of being region free.
I highly recommend the Criterions if you have an all region player
To be honest I was only speculating. I never actually realized they came out on Blu-ray and if they are criterion releases I can only imagine how beautiful they look. Thank you for the correction

I watched Prometheus last weekend on 4K,it looked great. Not seen it in a while. First time watch on 4K.
I think it's a show stopper on 4k. Absolutely astonishing. So was the 3D version now that I think of it. It's just one of those movies that looks great on any format

That's the one thing about myself Michael I never worry about missing anything and it's probably why I never overspend on any of my releases. I will never feed the scalpers. That's just crazy money ,Keith for that edition of Alien. As nice as it is, it's just not worth it. That grave stone bust for Masters of Horror really does look incredible, I really hope you get the chance to own that some day, Keith. You know it;'s amazing how many things get lost in the post, I think it's more like parcels get stolen in the post. When they see some of these editions they keep it for themselves. It's disgraceful. Keith did you ever hear about that American Werewolf in London, bust.
There might be an element of truth to that Gary because I actually had three gifts sent to me last month from three different parts of England and I received none. Of course when you inquire about them they don't have a clue. As far as I'm aware of that American Werewolf edition is completely scrapped. Again such a shame because it was shaping up to be a beautiful release. It's horrible the way they tease you like that and then take it away. But thank you as always Gary for stopping by. Keith question off topic what did you think of MANIAC REMAKE that came with the glorious new maniac bust ?
This might be a very unpopular opinion but I think the remake is better than the original. I was so pleasantly surprised by it. Elijah Wood I thought was phenomenal
It's a shame there isn't a swap shop for these things ! I have no idea how to order these 1 click jobs , but my wife showed me a fancy edition of predator 1 & 2 and my heart skipped a beat ! Original artwork embossed steelbook. I never slept a wink I was so gutted I didn't know how to grab it. So if zavvi or hmv don't sell it I'm feckd! 1 day mate , 1 day !
Most of the one click Editions that I got Ian are from eBay. I think I only ever bought one directly from filmarena's website. I don't think I've ever seen that predator edition that you are talking about. I really need to look into it myself and see what it's like. ( Also I despise scalpers 😡) that been said I'm really happy with my modest collection, shawshank redemption is now sorted and I have every film I'd like to own in 1 way shape or form . For me. I missed the Star Wars saga. Robin Hood / Robocop arrow releases. :(. But ofcourse I own them but general releases.
I think I have all three in my collection. I didn't get the 4K release of RoboCop. I had the Blu-ray limited edition which is the exact same.

That They Live fiasco was a big bummer, sorry again that it went down that way😔. I think you might actually be kinda disappointed with Lake Mungo when you get a chance to see it. The set from second sight is beautiful, but that movie is possibly one of the most overrated horror movies. It’s not a terrible movie per se, but I think it might not live up to the hype for you. When you do watch it, I recommend going in with lowered expectations and you might possibly end up liking it. It’s a very slow burn, that doesn’t really pay off for me the way it seems to for some others
I had a funny feeling you might stop by Ben. This had absolutely nothing to do with you. You done everything you possibly could. It's just one of those things. I got sucked into al the Hype on Lake Mungo. Did get that Second Sight Limited Edition. I thought it sucked. So lame.
One of my Grails is also that Friday the 13th release of the wood crate and all the mediabooks. They did other versions as well but I liked those ones with the masks and always love the padded ones. I had thought you bought the crate and it came with 1 mediabook. Maybe the documentary? And then you bought all the rest individually and could house together. But if you think there is 13 plus the crate, and you say $40 a pop new, which would be cheap, you are already over $500. And that is if we could have gotten new when it came out. So $1000 or $13oo does not seem that unrealistic to me, considering. But that does not mean I can pay it. Lol
Really hoping to get someday. Will most likely piece it together and get little by little.
I really do think the price is highly unrealistic because I seen a similar box set where all the media books came in this cardboard box and that edition was going for €500. So technically what they are trying to say is the wooden crate costs another 700 euro. I think the price is absolutely ridiculous and I would never entertain it. To be honest I don't think anyone would. I actually came very close once or twice to getting the Back to the Future edition for quite a good price. I'm sure I'll definitely get that sometime in the future. The only thing I don't like about it is the horrible Steelbooks that you get with
@@millerman9991 100% agree. The steelbooks were awful. It sucks they do so little (if any) original steelbooks anymore. Those were awful. The rest of it is killer. I would probably swap out the steelbooks for something else to try to build a better set.
I did pick up the HD Zeta version they did, which was nice, but I think the Film Arena is better.
@mg-ThisHandleIsSoStupid yeah I absolutely agree with you other than the Steelbooks the rest of the edition is fantastic. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they bring out the back to the Future trilogy on Steelbook form with the original artwork. That would be great to put into them

What the Hell? Yet another story that almost sounds too ridiculous to be true. Unbelievable, what a bunch of arseholes. I really hope you'll be able to get this release of They Live. Of course, I hope you'll be able to get all of those featured in this video. However, the one I'd really like you to own is They Live, as you came this close to owning this release, and because it's so frustrating when you own a particular series and you're missing out on one of them. You know, just like that one particular Arrow Window Box Edition that you were missing out of, until last year.
Last year, I ordered the Psycho 4k Blu-ray Collection by Arrow from Amazon UK. However, I got an email telling me there was a delay, because they were currently sold-out. For about four months, I got this email about every month, until my order was cancelled by Amazon, because the item wouldn't be coming back in stock.
Yeah unfortunately I have been very unfortunate when it comes to certain releases. They live in particular really stings to this day. I have never come remotely close to getting that edition since. I actually don't care about the rest of them all I wanted was that one. I'm still hopeful it will happen.
I'm sorry to hear that happened to your psycho edition. Amazon have been getting into a habit of doing that. It wasn't that long ago when they done it for my Megan release. I'm hoping someday you will find one Patrick. It's a beautiful release
Got Lake Mungo from CEX ,not a film that was ever on my radar so I don't think I paid that much for it (around £10 or maybe a little more).
