How good it is that Blackbeard was saved several times by the plot and he did not die several times from Ace and from everything that happened in Impel Down.
Blackbeard is simply the very character who cannot be defeated just because he is important to the plot. And it doesn’t matter how much stronger Blackbeard’s opponent is, Blackbeard will win by any means from stupefying the enemy (Although he has it automatically) or skip the battle where he won.

Haki simply allows a person to physically touch a logia user, as Haki bypasses their intangiblity and can also bypass other df abilities that alter how a user can be hurt...such as bypassing luffy's immunity to blunt attacks
