I'm actually quite glad this video showed up on my CZcams recommendations, though i'm not surprised seeing as to how many times i've typed in "Street Triple RS' in my search engines across platforms over a number of months. This conversation is very well navigated through and it was exactly what i needed in terms of an honest ownership review on the Street Triple. I won't lie, I headed into this hoping that Vivek's opinion would deter me from making a purchase and not going ahead with buying this machine, it infact did the opposite. UNTIL Vivek mentioned the Stiffer suspension, and in a City like Mumbai, well we all know that wouldn't go down well haha. That being said, Thank you for this conversation! You've got a new sub!

Good one, as I own one(RS) I agree with 36mins of podcast. in short- Bike is beautiful it’s the environment condition which won’t allow you to enjoy the bike completely. It’s mostly made for smoother Tarmac and our roads are world class. Bike like slow speed, but.. but when your on this bike you don’t want to keep it slow all the time. Good for city rides. But I would prefer to have an alternative(even an active during peak hours). Triumph customer satisfaction is very mediocre. Pillion a big no, it will spoil both riders and pillion experience. May be ergonomically z900 is better for pillion(if you change seats). 5000 rpm and above, makes you feel you just got another bike, it’s a joy. I tried monster, it has better torque makes you feel faster, it’s better for pillion, overall a great one but Ducati heats up and heard about technical issues l. Z900 is smoother because of inline 4 character. Stripple is more fun. How I wish we had better infra to enjoy what we spend on.

Strongly agree with Vivek on all that he said about the Street triple.
Also, I face that weird ticking sound on cold start that Vivek was mentioning.. But, as his mechanic pointed out, it goes away in a few seconds once the motor gets properly lubricated.
One con that he missed pointing out is the muck splattering from the rear tyre on wet roads. Your entire back has a proper coat of wet stuff from the road. Including the back of your helmet.

I am glad this video was made. I'm in the market for a large middleweight bike and was seriously considering the street triple but was also considering the NX500. My family already has a tiger 900 rally pro. And this video gave me the push for the street triple. Can you also tell on why you decided to sell the NX500?

    • @OpenAdventures
      @OpenAdventures  Před 2 měsíci

Like most of Vivek's responses, this isn't going to be a short answer. The NX500 will be bought by people who know exactly what they want. We'll try and do a longer video on this. But it is not an easy answer. The bike is so special but will not suit most riders because they come with expectations that are beyond what the bike is made for.

Loved the ownership review here. It was honest and someone who owns a Triumph Tiger 800 can relate through & through.
Its true that the Experience at Keerthi Triumph Service (Bangalore) is not so pleasant. The final service cost is way above the initial quote. It would be nice if we are informed of the parts/price changes in advance so we are well prepared and not have unexpected surprises.
I'd my front forks serviced at Keerthi and ended having a loose cone set. They blamed it on the risers which was clearly not the case. Later had it serviced at Khivraj Triumph service (Whitefield) twice but the job was not perfect.
Its quite disappointing that a premium segment bikes receives such treatment. Infact my car which costs equally has a better service experience and easy on pocket.
We expect a better after sales service when the service costs are on the higher side.
Also as Vivek said, there's some sound which comes from the clutch assembly when the engine is cold. Its less noticeable when its warmed up. I've also noticed a similar behavior on the 2024 street triple. Seems to be the nature of the engine.
@open adventures - This is a nice segment, please keep these coming.😊

Terrific review! I want to touch on riding with a passenger. It's advisable to refrain from having anyone on the backseat, as mentioned in the interview. The strong engine braking and acceleration can be challenging for inexperienced passengers. Shortly after acquiring my STR last week, my friend fell off the backseat within four hours. Although he's fine now, he did sustain a few stitches on his head. This occurrence emphasizes that the bike isn't intended for passengers

It was a insightful and entertaining conversation.
I would like to share some unsolicited feedback that may help improve the channel:
    - The camera person felt like a distraction. Perhaps, better cuts while editing would help solve this issue or using multiple cameras (definitely more expensive) to shoot BTS could help.
    - The set design has the potential to improve by leaps and bounds. It feels like a set that is targetted towards readers or literature or productivity enthusiasts. Probably, a slightly rugged and industrial design would help.
    - I really don't know what kind of a person you're, Ram. I'm unaware of the experience you pack in the field but some moments made me feel that a little more expertise could help you be a better host. I'm pretty sure that'll will come in with more episodes in.

I ordered new alloy for my GT 650 wanting to change from Spoke to alloy, to my shock they dont have any wheel changing machine or wheel balancing tool to do that in their workshop, they had to take my bike to another shop for changing the wheel and they charged more than 3k for that.Such big companies and so low on this aspect of servicing.

Same here.Had a street triple r rode it for 16k.Recently after the Bajaj take over the service and parts prices are through the roof and service satisfaction has gon through the Floor.Previously it was bad but now its worse. They charged me 16k just for front break pad including the service and part.Keerti service is the worst.I sold my bike due to bad services and thinking of never buying beautiful triumph machines just because of service.

Ground clearance is not an issue when solo and with luggage. But with a pillion the belly has touched speed breakers a couple of times if you are not careful.
