Never realized there was a name for this effect, but I love it. Really took them for granted, really easy to overlook with how quickly they come and go

this is the first time i saw a varíous cut compilation of Kanada light flare since i know about this style for a long time and also a fan of Kanada-School animations
and also this was one the flashy style of every Kanada-School animators like the OG Yoshinori Kanada, Hiroyuki Imaishi, etc

GL is full of Kanada'isms.
Kanada style flares are deceptively simple and require way less frames than you would think, still super fun to do though!
Because you can just rotate them, I assume ?

Thank you very much for your work. What i like about it, is that we can learn to appreciate the artists behind our favourite animes. Usually i forget, that animeproduction is a complex and collaborative work, that does not fall out of the sky.

Kanada-School animation is still the best. And it gives such a flashy way and Yoshinori Kanada's animation style was totally overused since the 70s to this generation second to Yutaka Nakamura. I can simply say that no one can beat Yoshinori Kanada's flashy and detailed effects.
Man i miss the OG Yoshinori Kanada and since Hiroyuki Imaishi's animation is almost the same level as Kanada did gives me such throwback of the OG's style and Imaishi for directing Gurren Lagann and applied his Kanada influence onto it truly revives Kanada's animation since it was slowly dying at the time.
