San Marcos CA used to just be a drive-through city in North County San Diego. Over the years the dairy closed and became a high school, the open hillsides became master-planned communities, and the hills have been knocked down to make way for a new hospital and new development.
All this continued growth has helped put San Marcos on the map. There is some of the most development going on there right now than most other North County neighborhoods. It has its pros (better infrastructure, remodeled schools, additional business) and cons (more dense, additional traffic) as with any growth.
