I love watching the 215's and 415's at work. Having been born and raised in western Canada near the mountains and in forest country, forest fires were always part of summer. During the Kelowna fire some years ago, the aircraft were coming south down the lake, skimming, then doing a steep climb-out and dropping within about 90 seconds, then going around again. All day long. That was a mean fire. The Hellenic Air Force is obviously making very good use of these aircraft. I can do without the music, but it's easy to turn the volume down.
remember these brave people who give their lives to protect Greek wildlife and its yourist industry,as well as its population .We take our holidays for granted , amny people not realising whaat sacrifices are made for their saftey and comfort.

You guys are amazing heroes in my eyes. I work for years now in Aspropyrgos and see you flying over all the time and have seen you taking in water just out of Aspropyrgos many times. Wouldn't it be amazing in Australian, South African and South American planes and crew could be partly stationed during there winter time (while they have very low fire risk) in Europe or in south of the USA where they have the same problems during summer. Then during the North winters we move the there and our fleet down South when they have there hot summers there. Win win I believe, isn't it?
These planes Greek planes work in a corrosive environment. I wouldn't be surprised if they spend at least 2 months of the winter in the maintenance shop.

I have lived in a forest area all my life. I cant even remember how many times my house was threatened by forest fires. I owe my livelihood to the people that fly those planes. And to the existence of these planes of course.
Love it !! Then my country Mexico needs badly such Water Bombers like you guys in Greece have. We only have a few Army helicopters. A few Bombardier's CL-415 for example. Mexico is very rich, it has petrol, gold, silver, copper, zinc iron, just to mention a few and millions of Tourists. It is also a huge country, half the size of Europe, where 23 countries would fit in !! Every year before our four months rainy season begins, catastrophic fires destroy thousands of acres of beautiful forests and its animals too, it breaks my heart to see all that going up in smoke. Sending saludos from the little town of Tepoztlan, Morelos state where wildfires rage right now.

Those planes are worth every penny now, I just heard they lost a fire plane in Greece today, but I don't know if it's one of these, or one of the Be-200 that is also there to help, or one of the fire boss that is there to help

I hope that the Alberta government as well as Buffalo Airways will be buying some additional aircraft - having to depend on chartered or contracted aircraft just is not good enough. The forests up here, and across on the B.C. side, are about as dry and ready for a spark as I can remember. I have not heard that they're going with a new model designation - still going to be CL-415.
August 2021: I can't find any greek canadair fighting the greek blazes on flightradar24, only Air Tractors registered in Australia, and helicopters registered in the States. In the meantime, at least six italian canadairs are fighting the fires in Sicily and Calabria. Somene knows what's going on?

Δεν είναι μόνο η Πυροσβεστική στον τομέα της πυρόσβεσης.

I hope that the Alberta government as well as Buffalo Airways will be buying some additional aircraft - having to depend on chartered or contracted aircraft just is not good enough. The forests up here, and across on the B.C. side, are about as dry and ready for a spark as I can remember. I have not heard that they're going with a new model designation - still going to be CL-415.

August 2021: I can't find any greek canadair fighting the greek blazes on flightradar24, only Air Tractors registered in Australia, and helicopters registered in the States. In the meantime, at least six italian canadairs are fighting the fires in Sicily and Calabria. Somene knows what's going on?

1) ΕΚΑΒ.
2) Αεροπορία Στρατού (καθημερινές αεροδιακομιδές ασθενών με Σινούκ, αεροπυροσβέσεις με τα ίδια ελικόπτερα)
3) Πολεμική Αεροπορία (κάθε δεύτερη μέρα αεροδιακομιδή ασθενών με C-130, C-27, Embraer για μεταφορές εκτάκτων περιστατικών στο εξωτερικό και σαν άχρηστη πληροφορία της ημέρας, αεροπυρόσβεση με Canadair 215 και 415 - ναι, ανήκουν στην ΠΑ και όχι στην Πυροσβεστική.)
4) Πολεμικό Ναυτικό (διασώσεις με Aegean Hawks και ενίοτε και με ΑΒ-212)
5) Τα ενοικιαζόμενα Sikorsky S-64 με πολίτες χειριστές.
Δεν είναι μόνο η Πυροσβεστική στον τομέα της πυρόσβεσης.
