    I'm preparing for the Highland Games - it's been a really rough few years and turning a caber is *so satisfying* - and OS has been ESSENTIAL in my preparations. This is especially because I have chronic health issues. My body gets locked up and I get OMT treatment regularly, but OS helps me keep my body in good shape between treatments, especially when I have to go longer between them. My doctor wants me doing more diaphragmatic breathing, and I immediately thought "And so does Tim." My partner got me the OS dvd for my birthday and I love it!
    With OS and loaded carries every day, I easily picked and turned a 35lb 9foot practice caber during my first tries with it. Second week of training with a 55lb 13foot practice caber, and I managed to pick and throw it (no turn yet).
    My 4 year old loves OS too, of course! Big into rolling, and while I'm crawling he crawls underneath me and tells me he's a car carrier :)

    It is so beautifull, simple yet very powerfull. I thank you for sharing your knowledge, passion and time. 53 years old and a body stiff as a log, you different movement patterns really helps loosing up that old tie in a very gentle way. I wish you a good day.

    It's playtime again!!! Kindergarten is open, let's crawl! What I modified on working with cross crawl and contra-lateral movement:
    - Prisoner Squat Cross Crawl
    - Alt Rotational Reverse Lunge Cross Crawl
    - casual Squat Cross Crawl
    Yeah y'll like it, OS is phenomenal to work with, great to warm up your body or just reset! But what I miss is information of pelvic floor. Isn't there a connection to OS?

    • @OriginalStrengthSystem
      @OriginalStrengthSystem  Před 6 lety +1

      We do actually teach Reseting the Pelvic Floor in our Pro Reset workshop. There is also a video about the pelvic floor in our rocking playlist, i believe.

    • @alexandergraf7483
      @alexandergraf7483 Před 6 lety

      Maybe you can introduce and integrate pelvic flloor gently in future videos. So you can get rid of common misunderstanding pelvic floor is only a girls thing! For training core, stability and flexibility pelic floor is soooo important you cannot ignore 'em!

    I love your movements. I'm just curious why you don't stress maintaining a neutral spine in crawling? I like it because I feel like "neutral spine" is overly forced, but I wanted to get your reasoning behind it. Thanks

    • @OriginalStrengthSystem
      @OriginalStrengthSystem  Před 5 lety +1

      Hey, thanks for the encouragement. I don't stress neutral spine because it is a cognitive, non-natural, non-reflexive action. The spine is made to move reflexively and naturally, and the head is made to be level with the horizon, especially during the gait pattern and crawling is a gait pattern. Besides, If babies crawled around in neutral spine all the time they would run into walls, like a lot of adults...!

    • @primalpillars4936
      @primalpillars4936 Před 5 lety

      @@OriginalStrengthSystem thanks that makes a lot of sense. Sometimes I think we in the strength and conditioning world OVER-stress neutral spine. It's super important in lifting, but I think there's a huge value to allowing your spine to move and get strong in that way too since that's how humans live.

    Hi, Tim. I feel that my abs don't engage properly when i'm rocking. Is it ok if I hang a lightweight (like 5-10 kg) from my waist with a belt?

    • @OriginalStrengthSystem
      @OriginalStrengthSystem  Před 6 lety +2

      It is. You could also try a light weight vest or small sandbell on your head. They all will create a different effect for you to play with.
