- I love the look and feel of encaustic art and wonder if acrylic wax medium is in any way comparable, so I decided to try a little experimentation.
While I was at it, I try out zinc white acrylic paint as an alternative to titanium white.

It's the first time in my life that I hear about acrylic wax, I didn't know that kind of art supply existed at all, so imagine my curiosity 😊 This video bears rewatching, so grateful for filming this experiment Kari!

i was trying to figure out what the wax was called. Thank-you so much for the brand name as well! im using it to carve into candles, filling in the gaps with the wax acrylic paint in different colours to bring out the design. :D and this is also really cool to see your different techniques as well! :D

Thanks Cheryl, sorry for my late reply - YT comment notification is terrible and I have only just discovered your comment on my acrylic wax experiments. It is useful to try out different mediums with acrylics as there are so many options and you never know what one will get the results you want. I am not sure about this one, but I have some further experiments I want to try.

Thanks Mags, I love that colour scheme and think I will do a larger painting in those colours soon. I will try the acrylic wax out a bit more as well, I forgot to try mixing it with the paint before applying it, so need to try that as well. Keep well too! xxx

I am dying to get to a larger one in that darker colour scheme, soon, soon. Yeah, not really sure I am into the acrylic wax, no idea why I thought it would be worth trying, but you live and learn!
Loved this I have some acrylic wax I've done nothing with it was given to me when I was on a design team I just chucked it in the drawer lol 😆 , I was wondering if you can remember if a second coat crackled as the instructions on mine said it may do ? I might have to try mine out .. great stuff xx
I haven't used mine since this video, LOL. I haven't tried a second coat, a crackle would be rather cool! 😁💗
