One of the greatest, unknown blues guitarists of all time. Easily equal to Peter Green, and I think he strongly influenced Peter, and many of the British Blues musicians. You can hear his influence in almost every great british guitarist from Beck to Page, to Clapton. Stan was indeed the man! Does anyone know what he does with his time these days? The man is totally talented and should be in the studio, just jamming.
Webb is something special, like Peter Green once was, or Kim Simmonds is still. I think the thing I like best about Stan is that he has 'stayed with the horse that brought him', if you know what I mean.....
checked them out about 1995 because the early ian anderson somewhere mentioned listening to them a lot - definitely a fantastic find (me being not too much into the pure blues genre otherwise...)
Can't believe it's taken 11 years for someone to answer "keyboards" ! If people like this, then it'd be worth finding "That's the Way It Is" by the same band. Great.
Stan the Man seen Chicken Shack probably 50 times over the last 50 years
Possibly the best British blues guitarist
Do
This is awesome, to say the least. Stan is one hell of a musician. I will play like him one of these days.
If this doesn't touch you deep down in the muddy part of your heart you are probably dead. Check your pulse. LOL
This is the greatest blues song ever written and performed and nothing will convince me otherwise
