RIP Jethro I'll never forget you coming into my family home early in the morning to pick up my brother Mike when he worked with you. You were cracking jokes at 6.30 in the morning
As Penzance Man Born and Bred,(Heamoor) this song by Jethro to me, says it all,,,I have fond memories of playing Rugby for St. Just RFC,and the scars to prove it, was it worth it?? Hell Yes!! Tommy Vigus Where are you now?? and of course one of my first ever Girlfriends who I met on the Scillonian on the way to the Scillies came from St Just Madelaine T. ...Good times & great memories.. Kernow Bys Vyken.. Paul B. (Barney)
i just love watching Jethro I lived I St Just for many although born I Pendeen he also sing Cornwall my home I love my home as they say you can take a boy out of Cornwall but you cant take Cornwall out of the boy
this song always makes me feel home sick. I have lived in 4 different countries and visited 42 countries, I was born at home in truthwall in 1960... I still miss st just and the many friends!
Wonderful song and after visiting on a very regular basis over the past 25 years I fully understand what he means about St Just. Absolutely love walking round the area from the Cot Valley to Portheras Cove. Just wish I could live there as its such a beautiful place.
To anyone who hasn't seen him Live, I highly recommend it. He had the entire theatre in stitches all evening. He also did a song at the end. And what's more, that backup singer in this vid also did a few songs himself. He did songs such as 'You Raise me up' etc. Bloody good singing voice. His name is Shaun Perry. My mum also got a CD of him during the evening too.
Back in the 60's and 70's comedians often finished their act with a song which was usually under par and demonstrated it was a token gesture by tradition. I have to say this guy has a great voice and can sing. Thanks for posting. Never heard him before other than as a comedian....Some would argue Harry Secombe was a great singer and I wouldn't dispute that but he never made me laugh.
Hans Vonk
Top boy, seen him many times always leaves me wanting to go back home to the best land in the world. Born in Newlyn, brought up in Redruth, could it get any better
i've have not been to is club but see him many times in oakengates which is in telford shropshire, i'm cornish my self and think he is a great, my mum and dad had tickets to see him 12 year ago but before the show my dad was taken in to hospital so he missed the show, me and my family saw jef in the bar after the show and told him about him been in hosp,he was great and was going to phone him in the hospital but it was to late in the night to ring him so in steed he gave me 2 vid to give him.
