Wow! That whole story would make a wonderful kids' horse film. The Bearded Muffin! And a quarter horse dad, no wonder she used to bomb around the field! Yet another success story, thanks Brandi. Cheers!
Muffin is a gem. What a horse and human story she is. So glad she ended up in the right place, has had a job she is good at and receives such a good care.
Our fluffy muffin ❤. She has such a wonderful story of people just not willing to give up on her even when others had. Carly's story with muffin is it's own wonderful thing. Just delightful to know that you are making a impact on your riders. ❤
I love Muffins beard! I'm glad you have such a versatile girl. My sister had a horse that was half QH and half Paso and man were they good at barrels. Now I have to catch up! ❤🐎😎
That's a great story and lesson. It shows that a lot of problem horses are caused by people that don't know how to handle situations or have poor training and don't understand how to handle some situations.
I remember Muffin too !!😍 I hope she gets on well in spite of cushing . My dog (Minpin) passed away from Cushing in december 2022. He was on vetoryl.. I got the size above German Pinscher a year later. I was so upset..your kitties are so cute !❤
Pituitary pars intermedia dysfunction (PPID; equine Cushing’s disease). I can tell you from personal experience this is not a fun disease to deal with, even in the mild cases. Making the appropriate dietary, dental, and hoof care decisions can often be challenging. So much so that frequently, the caregiver will give up and wind up putting the animal down. It's unfortunate and, indeed, no fun to deal with.
What is in a horses name,Do you hesitate to change it? When I changed my rescue dogs name it was very much to help me be comfortable saying the name often . Maybe there are papers, or maybe a child gave a silly name ! The reputed equine intuition may make names less important .
If I like the name, I keep it. If I don't, I change it. I think they can easily get used to different names. I wouldn't personally go through the process of changing a registered name on papers. That just seems like an unnecessary expense
What a beautiful story with Muffin, your student and her going on to start her own lesson program. Truly wonderful and Muffin is a gorgeous gem in your crown!

We love Muffin! 💕 It was the first equine that Lindsay rode that she got some independent confidence on 💓

Yes, not anyones fault. Sometimes we just need help sorting through the issues.
Thanks for standing up for the ponies! I love them too. People look at me funny when I say my dream horse is a pony mare. They’re just so sturdy!
Ponies are the bomb!

Yes, it was definitely news I didn't want to hear. But, both horses at my place with PPID are doing great. The medication really helps.
