I am a 100% Mexican who is racially Black and people are always surprised I speak Spanish too. Just because I’m Black lol. There are a lot of us here in Latin America who are Afro Latino because of the Spaniards colonizing and bringing Africans who were enslaved. We got the diaspora all the way over here from the top of North America all the way to the Caribbean all the way to South America. Viva la diaspora Africana! You got a beautiful accent btw my sister.
My best friend Javier is a black Mexican from Veracruz. When me and him spoke Spanish in Orlando, Florida the Mexicans didn’t think he was Mexican because of his accent and they assumed he was imitating them until he broke down where he was from. It’s ignorant Mexicans all over Florida. They do the same with white Mexicans like my sister in law who’s from Mexico City
Happy to see this comment. I met mestizo Mexicans in Florida who gave my friend Javier looks when he says he’s Mexican. He’s black too. But then they’re like ok he’s one of us. But what bothered me is when he would speak to them and would say “que?” Like they don’t know what he mean when they understand him perfectly well. Some mestizo Hispanics feel degraded when speaking Spanish with an Afro Latino which is so sad. A black friend of mine she’s from Cuba and goes to this Mexican store and Salvadorian store and when she speaks in Spanish, they respond in English but if it’s another Cuban they are happy to speak to her in Spanish.

Yea it’s easy. I’m a black American so can do African accent and Spanish when I speak. Pretty much if I pronounce something in another language I don’t know I can replicate accent. I know some Spanish who can even do the African accent
