Sean Payton deserves a lot more blame for that loss than he'll ever take.
His lack of accountability is worrying. His lack of ownership is poor leadership
Literally my thoughts exactly. Everyone is putting it on the defensive coordinator, who is also one of the most responsible for this blowout, but definitely feels like Sean Payton should be getting exposed more for this loss than he is. His team completely gave up just like Rich said. At least it felt like the giants were trying on defense when they lost to the cowboys this year by 40.
Payton would be getting more if Sutton didn't have 2 fumbles and 2 dropped td passes. Hard to say they didn't have a good offensive game plan
@@baronb5103 I mean isn't one of your best receivers on the team dropping passes and fumbling kind of on the "offensive" minded head coach Sean Payton? Also the broncos just made so many mistakes in that game it was like they were asking the dolphins to score. It would have almost been more disrespectful if they didn't score in some instances.
@@ace448 Sean Payton's arrogance is even more troubling because it fuels his lack of accountability. Years of hearing the media calling Payton a coaching genius when he was with New Orleans clearly juiced his head.
Yup, you can’t give up 70 points without players quitting on the coaches. Huge disaster out there in Denver.
This conversation rarely happens in baseball when a team loses by 15 runs. The embarrassed team just goes out the next day and usually plays a much better game. In the case of the Broncos they have a week to get ready for a fellow lame team, the Bears.
@@bruxi78230 Baseball has 162 games. You can chalk up a bad night to "it just wasn't our night, we'll get 'em tomorrow". When you have a mere 17 games and you give up 70 points, it's potentially disastrous. It's possible that they'll rebound and get their act together, but if they end up 4-13 or something pitiful, this game will looked at very closely.
@@bruxi78230yeah but there’s 145 more games in a baseball season to turn it around
@@trstano ---- Actually it's 161, and I get your point, but my point is in either sport it's one in the loss column. Dust yourself off and go win the next one, especially against another weak team. To me it was way worse that in the first two games they should have won both. If you look at the Broncos record over the years for games in Florida in September they almost always lose.
I have said for years that Sean is very overrated
Sean Payton ran his mouth, now he’s stuck with Denver and the worst contact in nfl history.
Really looking forward to next week. Broncos play the 0-3 Bears. It'll be so exciting to see a 0-0 tie.

Lol I would be rolling if game ends with score of 3-3 or 0-0 😂😂😂
Might end up being rather entertaining. You never know.
Unironically, this year couldn’t be more soul crushing for the Broncos.
Week 1, you have optimism because of your new elite head coach, and you lose 16-17; the exact same way you lost week 1 last year, reinforcing that absolutely nothing has changed.
Week 2, you get out to a 21-3 point lead, then you throw it all away and are losing 27-35. Then, you make a miraculous Hail Mary throw to potentially tie the game and go into overtime, only to fail the two point conversion.
Week 3, you get absolutely annihilated and give up 70 points on defense, something that hasn’t happened since before we landed on the moon.
Week 4 is next week and you face the Bears, arguably the worst team in the league. If you lose there then the season is over, you can start firing people already at that point because you have no dignity left…
And the failed 2 point was caused by blatant massive pass interference not called. That would really mess with teams minds.

Hey Sean! When your team gives up 70 points, you don't get to be snippy with reporters. You need to own your humiliation. After bad takes as a Fox analyst, then throwing last year's coaching regime under the bus, then undermining Russell in the media, you have to own this historical defeat...that could have been worse.

Yeah. When they talked about it on Undisputed - saying Payton was about equal to McCarthy (who's looked at as a guy who lucked into Rodgers) - I realized, they were right. They basically have the same resume... all-time great QB, one Super Bowl, and not much else besides playoff letdowns... except Payton's were epic for the ways they happened.
@@number3stunner118 The people calling Belichick overrated should actually be talking about Payton. He's still fielding a top 5 defense every year and has actually had good drafts mostly in the past 2-3 years, moreso on D and ST obviously.
Lost all respect for Sean Payton,
In the interview a reporter asked about the 70 points and he cut them off saying do you have an actual question? no next question.. without letting the reporter respond.

My take is that the team and coach doesn't believe in Danger Rusty. Big breakup needs to happen in Denver. You guys should try to rehire Hackett!
It looks like Sean Payton has aged 50 years. LOL
Amazing, how he suddenly looks 10 years older.
As a Seahawks fan it was fun to dump on Russell Wilson for a while last season and it was well deserved but I have to say Russ was not the problem against Miami. Russ and Tua were pretty much on par with each other. Miami's defense was really solid by comparison and Denver's defense was pretty close to non existent. At least from my point of view, that seventy steamer was not on Russ.
While I agree Russ wasn't to blame, to say he was on par with Tua is just crazy lmao
@@GoosetavAhr Look at the stats.

Get out of the NFL then lol getting paid millions just to give up
I don't think the broncos D gave up. I think it was just a perfect storm of circumstances. Miami has extreme speed, denver has a struggling D and O. Denver probably struggled with the heat. Hard enough to keep up with Miami in general, let alone if you're getting beaten down by heat, and your offense can't respond properly at all.
How to get past giving up 70? Bourbon. There I just saved you 5 minutes and 25 seconds.
Does this mean we can expect Sean Payton to go back to his "Bountygate" tactics of taking out the opposing team's quarterback? That 70-Burger couldn't have been served up to a more deserving guy than Sean Payton!!

Sean Peyton is only coach to ever be suspended from NFL -- for paying players to hurt opponents. When Broncos hired this type of "leader" -- it spoke volumes about their management+ownership. Makes perfect sense the players feel like meat, not teammates. Peyton is a horrible man -- but only the symptom.

I wasn't thrilled when we got him. Maybe he'll pull things together, but he deserves a heck of a lot of blame for this IMO.
I agree with you 100%. Russ did what he could, but Payton has been felony stupid managing this team. First gets rid Evero but then thinks Joseph is a good fit. Disses on the previous coaches while producing far worse than they did. This will not end well, and Payton will forever be known for the coach that his players quit on. Out of 31 years as a Broncos fan I am hanging up on my team. I have dealt with disappointment through multiple seasons, but these past seven years have been some of the worst memories since I first started watching football at age 10. I wish them luck in the future but as for my support and spending time and money I just don't have the heart to pay anymore attention to the game.
I am sorry to hear this, team can go through some very tough periods. Remember why you fell in love with them to begin with, but also keep an eye out for what they need to do for the future. Today I went back to 1998. Superbowl 32. I have to admit I was smiling and enjoying the game as if I knew nothing of the outcome. The game being played was different.
