- Killer sound as the engineer of the yard job cranks open the 710 in the SD70MACe that will lead M202 later that night in Taft, FL. A few minutes of high and low idling before he notches up. Then they pull the power to the wye.

Its so satisfying hearing those EMD SD70MAC's throttling up
The sound of the EMD 710 accelerating is probably one of my favorites
Crazy epic to hear the engineer let it rip all the way to notch 8 like that. Them 710s can take the beating no doubt.
I’ve had to have an engineer do that a few times to help charge the air lines faster trying to diagnose an air leak.
They’re designed for that, watch some load test videos, locomotives get left in notch 8 for quite some time, when under load they can be left in notch 8 basically until they run out of fuel
Engineer: "Hehe 710 go BRRRRRRRRR"
More like “Ying Ying ying…”
That's a little more than charging up the train air!
Great! Did you know the Engineer?
We may have uh.... called in a little favor on that one. 😎
That idle is so nice n smooooooth
Now if I can get a hour loop of that.
love the artwork at 4:38!!
great video ❤❤❤❤
It is like wdp4d loco indian railways
bro that’s crazy
Why would he be notching up without moving?
Because we asked him to. Lol
Notching up is part of the job....charging compressors, testing load output etc. Nothing unusual.
We asked the engineer to put it through its paces for the camera. He had the time to spare so he gladly obliged.
Just a quick load test.
Ah, now i have the anwers !
Was wondering too, what the notch up and all that was, for just two locos! They can move on even while idling 😃
EMD way better than any GE
their both still bad in their own way anyway
