Yes, most people take kindness, for weakness ! SHOCK THEM AND SPEAK OUT !
The day came when I realized it was time for me to start telling people "No" more often. I had the reputation of being a people pleaser. Always spreadng myself too thin to help others to the point where I would short-change myself at times. So, I starting saying "No." Once I got the hang of it, it became very freeing. Friends and family didn't know what to make of me after that. I became a new creature as they watched. So now, I can't wait for the opportunity to say "No I can't...No I won't... No I dont -- or just plain NO."
The word NO sets you free.
@@ZephKing I would say at least three months into my depression, I made the revelation that I need to say more often, and that's when things started to change for the better.
I used to be a people pleaser when I was in high school and in my young adult life. Now that I got older, I learned to say no for the right reasons. I got to the point that I don’t worry about what they think. If I did not do anything to them purposely why worry.
I've had to cut contact with 2 family members who constantly ask for money or favors. When I finally set boundaries with them they got verbally abusive with me and called me all kind of names. They can go fly a kite. I'm not backing down.

I threw my son out of my home he became combative and angry and said nasty things to me. My children are in their 40s and 50s. He didn't help pay rent or anything no tissue paper towels anything. And had the audacity to get in my face and tell me that he didn't have to leave because he gets mail here. O really? I would be so happy to talk to a judge and the judge would laugh at his ass. I gave him 15 minutes to leave my home before I call the police. He was gone in 20 minutes. GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE DUDE!!!!!

I had a jealousy guy once tell me to be nice to people. I replied with.. “I’d rather be authentic than nice”. He didn’t say a word after. He is so envious it’s crazy. I’ll greet him but I won’t respect him while he is without self-respect.
People take advantage of my kindness all the time it is truly unbelievable.
My family was the worst.

It’s absolutely life changing when I learned to stand up for myself. I will die to get the respect I deserve. I’m always respectful to others but once they take my kindness for weakness, I draw the line. It’s not about fighting for me, it’s about fighting for my soul. I can have a bloody nose or busted eye but they’re not going to take away my self dignity.
I definitely needed this I have a issue with being to passive
I grew more empathy once I left New York. I use to be mean and hardcore until I got out on my own. Now I’m learning how to balance both sides.

I'm a kind person in general like a "sunshine" my uncles and some member of my family have been so rude, direspectuf to me for years since I stopped smiling with them I'm very serious NOW they saw that I've changed I will not let them direspect me again they know I'm kind but not with them I'm very selective, I won't let anybody play with me enough is enough! I love your enthusiasm. It’s the same way and tone l would like to tell my husband miserable, hateful relatives. They been treating me like Doo Doo for years. I Decided 2 years ago l’m done with them ALL. These 3 particular relatives are trying to get my husband to get me to go to some of the family gathering. NEVER and DONE with these evil creature!!!!!!
Thank you for sharing this. I cannot tell you how many people have had the nerve and audacity to come for me in this manner and I haven't done them anything. I have a next door neighbor that has this issue bad. When he tests me, he knows that I will shut him down immediately. Life is too short for the foolishness.

This video is 💯 percent true. What's amazing to me is that when you didn't do anything to someone & they start being mean then when you mouth off at them and start treating them the way they treated you, they get defensive and have a narcissist attitude. I've changed a lot learned to say no or they will know just by my vibe. Screw them!

Oh yeah... been there! Was nice and kind to people whose only motives were to try to see what they could get out of me. And when I'd call them out on it, all of a sudden I have an "attitude." It's funny when they get all butt hurt because they thought I was "so nice," but realized that I'm not stupid! They've just been figured out, and got exposed. It's necessary to set boundaries because if not people will milk you dry. I've had people ask for for ridiculous favors that will be at my expense. And I told them hell no!!!! Tyler I no longer speak to coworkers who don't want to talk about doing the job better but want to gossip, and smile up in faces at work. I swore the next time a coworker talks up in my face I am saying please step back and respect my space. Me and husband is separated because he is one of those people you talk about, low life lifestyle and when I don't submit to it he say I am an angry woman, yet he kept f n me over and disrespecting me and calling it jokes. He got real mad when I got serious and said I had enough and I don't got time for his disrespect and fakery and jet I mind games. Thank You Tyler, A lot of the ones I'm around will not come out and ask. They tell you their circumstances and leave it at that in hopes you volunteer to take on the situation they brought forth to you. Back in the day my Grandma called it "Putting it on the table and hoping someone take it off." They do it this way because if there is a problem or you ask for a favor they don't want to do they can later say, "I didn't ask you to do shit for me" and they are right they didn't directly ask you. So, we also need to stop being lead to take shit off that table. LMAO, I know a lot of us out there have dealt with these type of people. Yes, these are the same people who will stab you in the back, lie and everything else. It's funny to me that they will do things to hurt others and have the nerve to pretend they did nothing and your the one with the problem so one can continue to be there when they need you for whatever.

Man you tell the truth, I have been used, but is because they have been fake and have urn some love, they don't deserve ,but slowly truth comes and things change, and my progress I notice they hate to see, so they no longer in my life, this fake friends have affected me to make themselves look good,and used me to get what they wanted, but they know I don't play,and I ant afraid to face them.
