The opening cinematic for this game is quite epic.
From what I've seen from a good bit of Warhammer stuff. Their cinematic are to die for.

@@PlayingQuietly I grabbed 2 on ps4 like last year or so but never got chance to play it. Never had anyone to play it with so eh.
Other Scif FTL: "we bend spacetime so the space we occupy is travelling so we dont need to exceed light speed" or "we use carefully calculated trajectories through a dimension that gives us short cuts relative to normal space".
40k: "we Pray as we ride our Manhattan Island sized Churches through Hell itself!"

Lol, I actually really enjoyed the opening... but I agree. Basically, everything after is straight up heresy.

Well the reason why is because they’re using the in-game engine so the player customized characters can be in it.
You know there's like a huge difference between a pre-rendered cutscene and an in-game cutscene right that allows your custom characters to appear in right?

Wow you can really tell the cinematic with the Zealot breaking out of prison and rescuing Zola was an afterthought, or at least made at the very last second. Guess it is a Warhammer game after all... wouldn't be the same without a healthy dose of jank.

I’m gonna be honest it’s fucking hilarious getting summoned to a room with a fancy fake-latin (or sometimes real latin, imagine!) name only for someone to tell you they hate your guts a bit less now and then tell you to fuck off. Really says a lot about the type of person that rises through the ranks in the inquisition.
1:06 can someone please give context of who that guy is and what is happening to him?
I believe that is a navigator and they are being affected by the warp.
For a bit more, the purple energy field that they fly to around @0:40 is a portal to the Warp. So if he is a navigator or any other type of pysker (the caster class in the game), his soul will shine brighter than others, and daemons of the Warp will try to get to him. The ship survives only because of an anti-warp device called a Geller Field, but going through the warp can still be rough on psykers. Also, the ship goes into the Warp because it is the fastest method of interstellar travel. Hope this helps.

It's somehow **still** astounding to me that a company who makes money hand over fist like they do, can produce *yet another* game with a bargain basement script, even worse acting and overly stylised meh cutscenes like this. It must've taken everyone working together to half ass this. You can tell where they spent their time and money in the CGI, because those external shots, particularly the Valkyrie scenes, are garbage compared to the interior shots.
Overall I really liked the opening. As for the game itself, on the whole, I enjoy playing it most of the time. Actually I really enjoy the combat. But the fact that so much of the game feels so unfinished really makes me not want to recommend the game to people. Blazing hot take, I know.
the quality of the cinematics after the intro is kinda trash
You are not lying about that. It basically boils down to "Ok...You have proven yourself...for now...But now your TRUE test begins." I had heard that originally there was going to be much more of a story.
These are terrible cinematics compared to the usual fare Warhammer puts out
