    Your video was very helpful, but since I didn’t have the know how and protection gear to remove the inverter. So I didn’t remove the wiper motor section or the inverter, I was able to save time by just clearing the things needed to see the thermostat housing. Finesse my 10MM socket and removed the 3 nuts. Slide the elbow shape tube housing to the side, replace the thermostat. I was able to do it under 2 hours. I gave you a like, for the video. Thanks!

    I just bought the same car. first week i had a problem with the abs. it make weird noise when i brake hard. then a week after, the abs fail. which mean the whole brake system fail (abs and brake booster are in the same assembly, no power to the brake when engine is on), then the inverter got problem. bought it for $4000 then it back for $2500 in 4 weeks. what a good investing. i will not buy a used rx hybrid again. (maybe)

    That looks like an East Coast owned 400H. I live in CT. It literally looks like you have my 400 torn down during December. Such a love/hate relationship with my 400. I love it when its tip top, hate it when I get that repair bill. May I ask what the invoice total was? Appreciate you posting this. Sitting in old girl looking at youtube videos, had a light snow last night. Was thinking to myself how much of a nightmare the ABS actuator was. So I was expecting my jaw to drop when coming across a how-to on the t-stat. This vehicle never fails to disappoint me. Should have went with the RX350. 2008 RX400H, 213996mi, recently did ABS Actuator replacement, timing belt, and water pump. Original invoice (Lexus dealership) $5300. Got them down to $4500 after having a meltdown in front of other customers. 🤣

      stg, im partially starting to regret gettin the hybrid, its def a love hate thing, but i work on my own vehicles and i just cant deal with how inconvenient life is with this damn spaceship😩

      @@_Ericka I think im gonna switch back to gas on my next RX. At 230k I have not a single light on the dash, always stay up on oil changes and maintenance, but the costs to keep that dash mint is ridiculous, not to mention im constantly worried about the window gaskets leaking. But even if I switch back to a gasoline engine Im definitely going to get another Lexus. Either RX350 or GX450. Even with these crazy gas prices theres really no point when the gas mileage isn’t all that different than a RX330 or 350.

    Is there something that needs to be specifically done when rebooting the whole system I performed the same task and it is shutting down claiming that I need to check the hybrid system but I’m pretty damn sure I reconnected everything properly just not sure if there’s some sort of scam process or clearing or something along those lines? Thanks highly appreciated

    I know it's been a while, but thinking back, there was no way around taking all the hybird stuff off? I have a Toyota highlander hybrid and I think it has the same engine. I just got done doing the water pump and wanted to do the thermostat while theres no coolant.

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow
      @NoNonsenseKnowHow  Před 3 lety +1

      I haven't done one of these in a long time. But from what I remember there was no way around it. Or at least this seemed to be the easiest way

      @@NoNonsenseKnowHow thanks for the reply. I had ordered my timing belt/water pump kit and I decided to buy a thermostat. I had no idea the thermostat is hidden the the depths of hybird-hades

    Why there's no video on step by step to do this. I'm trying to remove the inverter but don't know how to remove the harness in the back of the inverter. Can you please help or advise.i have the same identical car

      Sorry it's been awhile since I've done one of these. I wouldn't really be able to help you without seeing it in person. I don't work on these particular cars every day. I work on all makes and models. I try to do step by step videos when I can. But I don't always have the time to

      @@vibrantstar2879 sorry to hear that. Honestly without looking at it I wouldn't really be able to give any opinions. Just the normal stuff, Coolant up to level and bled, water pump flowing properly, radiator not clogged up, fan operating properly, etc

      @@NoNonsenseKnowHow I’m normally ok doing stuff on cars, household repairs. I can have a go at it. I’m sending the car to the garage for water pump, spark plugs and timing service (60k miles service). It’s my wife’s car and she hardly does any miles. I could potentially wait until it goes in. You reckon it could wait a couple of months ?
