I guess when judgement day comes, we shall all know the truth. Who actually was the servant of God and who actually used the name of God to serve themselves. I say this with ultimate respect and questions in my heart. Is it okay for people who serve God to take offerings from poor and middle class people to live extravagant and luxurious lives? Is this true stewardship because according to what Jesus told his disciples, he said, leave all your worldly materials and follow me. I believe when someone has really taken off their crown and commits themselves to do nothing else but serve God, that is where real stewardship is. I feel most pastors and their wives are using God’s name to have the best houses and best cars and best lives. And for that reason, I chose to have a spiritual rather than a religious life and focus on my personal relationship with God. Rest well pastor. If you honestly lived for God and dint let earthly materials consume your soul, then God is smiling right back at you.
