Because of her gallblader surgery she was not able to fly as the show was made, so Beste Zangers came to her .... the show is a special for the coming ESC.

This was a yearly special edition of 'Beste Zangers' because of the oncoming Eurovision Songcontest.
Every year a few guests are invited that participated in 'Beste Zangers' during past seasons.
They perform with a song from the Eurovision contest, but in their own way, translated, new arrangement, etc.
This year, presented by Jan Smit:

As always no competition, but well known Dutch singers that enjoy music (Eurovision in this case).
The man you refer to as being surprised by Floor Jansen is Stef Bos. But they know each other and know, respect, each others music and quality. Floor Jansen made a cover of Stef Bos song 'Is dit nou later?'
Stef Bos is well known in the Netherlands, and South Africa, for his own style, uncompromising, full of character.
The lyrics of his songs are of extreme high quality, playing with words, poetry of high level.
His most well known song is 'Papa' in which he explains how he revolted against his father in his youth, but now looks more and more like him, and with growing mutual respect and understanding.
The performance of Floor Jansen got international attention, of course, because of her talent and voice control.
But all others performed well too, like Rolf Sanchez with 'Eres tú', in a mix of Spanish and Dutch, truly wonderful.
Stef sings songs straight into your soul, with pure sincerity. Something he shares with Floor now that I think about it.
The host of this show is also 1 of the hosts of Eurovision song contest this year.

I think Floor might be the best performer this world has ever seen. That is a crazy statement but is it really? She draws me into everything she does in a way I have never felt before. Incredible voice, incredible singer.
I think she is unquestionably the best female lead of ALL TIME between her singing capability and stage presence. There's a couple guys that would give her a run for her money but she's really fucking close!!!

And Stef Bos wrote the song "Door de Wind" (through the wind or because of the wind you can translate it either way) for Belgium on a Eurovision Song contest.

After hearing this performances Floor's seems to be in top vocal shape, I am now even more excited for the show.

EuFlooriaaa...! It's so easy to see the love in your eyes. And that's allright, because this performance is a Masterpiece. This is BZ Eurovision special show, the contest is in Rotterdam this year (and Blind Channel from Finland will win 😅). Floor was unable to participate in person, because she was recovering from a surgery in Joensuu (Finland), where they remove her gallbladder and 15 gallstones 😩. Quite a performance from the "not so well" Goddess of ours. The older gentleman is Stef Bos, a very wellknown Dutch singer/songwriter.
Actually the band played live in the studio/barn in The Netherlands. It was her hearing the music "abroad". They all did songs from Euro Song Contest from the past. The Netherlands won the last time and hence organizes the next one on 22nd May.

This was a special one episode version of Beste Zangers, because of the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in the Netherlands next week. Rolf Sanchez was one of the guests (he sang his version of Eres Tu (Spain 1973)), the others were in other seasons of Beste Zangers

Floor couldn't come to the studio, because she had a recent operation on her gall bladder. So she sings in Sweden (where she lives) and the band plays in the studio. What a magnificent performance she did. The power woman of the Netherlands! ❤❤❤❤❤

That guy is Stef Bos. He is a music writer and singer. Look at his bio. He met Celine Dion before she was very famous. He didn't know it at that time that it was Celine Dion. They where in France at that time. The lady with the big hair afro is Tania Kross. She was in Beste Zangers 2016. She is a dutch opera singer.

That man is Stef Bos and he most likely heard of her, but had yet to actually hear her (at least, thats the impression i had).
He's a lyrical storyteller who also has that ability to reach into your soul, like Floor can, albeit in a very different style of singing.
Fun thing to note, he is known to be a bit stoic, or maybe calm is the better word, and first seeing him have that "WTH is going on!" face and then rocking along with joy, that is very telling if you know the guy. But yeah, that's Floor for ya hehehe (And Rolf must be one of her biggest fans, he's always mindblown lol)

The coming Eurovision Song Contest is next week in Rotterdam, because The Netherlands has won the last time in 2019 (Duncan Laurence with Arcade). The producers of "Beste Zangers" make a 'Special' every year, with old paticipants singing great Eurovision songs from the past.
The host of Beste Zangers - Jan Smit - will be one of the hosts of this year's ESC, together with Edsilia Rombley (twice participant on Eurovision) and Chantal Jansen (no family of Floor !).
Nikki tutorials is also a host. She is an amazing and inspiring women.

To answer most of your questions and some backsstory if you're interested. ;)
They recorded a special episode because the Eurovision song contest is held in the netherlands next week, which is an honor for the hosting country with an annual global audience of 200 million viewers (our King even went to see the stage build-up in Rotterdam Ahoy!) and involves a lot of special programming and media attention in general leading up to the event. So they recorded a special episode for Beste Zangers in a barn in The Netherlands instead of on Ibiza as they usually would, also due to covid. 14 days quarantine is mandatory after departure and arrival in most European countries at the moment. The show is probably recorded at least a few weeks ago, which would be much of a risk for Floor to fly over with her planned operation or could have meant that Floor would still be in quarantine.

I must confess, I hate the eurovision song contest. In my eyes, this is a political farce. And I did not know the original knowingly (maybe I have already heard but forgotten. And Stef Bos (famous sing-a-songwriter) was participating in the last season of "Beste Zangers" in 2020, as the 'more elderly, experienced artist' (like Henk Poort was in 2019).

The older guy is Stef Bos. He's born in The Netherlands and moved to South Africa. He sung for years there (still does) in 'Afrikaans'. In the 90's he came back to The Netherlands and became famous here. Perhaps you like his Dutch version of Herbert Grönemeyer's Halt Mich. Grönemeyer reached the top 20 in The Netherlands with this song and I think Hebert's song is way better.

I'm actually not sure if they heard Floor sing at all. She was supposed to be there in the studio, but because of her surgery she wasn't able to make it. I'm pretty sure the people in the studio are just reacting to the band playing.
