The UK special forces go through the same training and selection process (the hardest in the world), then if out of about 200 individuals who start the only around 8-10% pass. Then, they are branched off into different regiments such as SAS, SBS.... also the UK has the The Royal Gurkha Rifles, not to be tangled with at any cost! Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw ("Sam the brave") chief of staff of the Indian army once said "If a man says he is not afraid of dying, he is either lying or he is a Gurkha." ...

Also, there were some bits where you could hear John not answering Chris because didn't want to one-up him even more. Like when Chris mentions how SAS is working with maps from the 1940s while the Americans have 12 satellite maps, 24 hrs maps if you wanted analysis. Meanwhile, John is thinking, "Dude, 10-15 years ago, we could live ISR assets that could resolve license plates undetected until the moment we raid the compound. Now, our infantry platoons don't roll outside the wire without assets to provide top cover."

Btw the delta child like tribalism is probably the greatest weakness they have. It’s the reason the rangers are now elite standalone CQB stallions. General mccrystal wanted to make an example out of why you don’t hoard time sensitive targets and not be a team player. - but It turns out SAS went for 2 weeks then went home. The legit reasoning was: THE COMMANDER OF 22 SAS WANTED TO SAVE THEM for IRAQ #2 in THE event UK WAS ATTACKED. BECAUSE SAS operate in the uk. The job of a tier one team is hostage rescue. Normally you use 82nd/10th mountain/ 101st/ Green Berets/ Tier 2 Units. Let’s face it. Tier 1 units can’t survive with out CAS. So it’s a weakness of small units. I don’t think the commander’s decision was wrong. He needed to keep a HR capability for the Uk in the event osama or somebody attacked somewhere and took hostages.

even your own SAS commander Lieutenant Colonel Richard Williams prefers the Delta over his own SAS soldiers, and i quote directly "A common thread runs throughout Task Force Black that makes it difficult not to come away with the impression that the units’ relationship has since evolved. Today they seem to exist almost like siblings, with Delta - backed by the enormous might and budget of the United States military machine (and JSOC in particular) - playing big brother to the SAS’s little brother.
Besides merely wanting in on some of Delta’s action, the SAS’s commanding officer at the time, Lt. Col. Richard Williams, openly admired General McChrystal and was described as an unabashed Americanophile, SAS Commander Lt. Col. Richard Williams stated he would have preferred to have commanded Delta than his own men. He constantly challenged Task Force Black (mockingly referred to as “Task Force Slack” prior to their JSOC integration) to match the pace and intensity of the Americans. And when the SAS was at its most lethal, Urban described it as “operating in the style of Delta.”
The units’ assaulters even began to look more and more alike. The SAS is described as transitioning to the practice of wearing their sidearms on the front of their body armor in a similar fashion to the Americans rather than in leg holsters as they typically had previously while also adopting the same Crye Precision MultiCam camouflage gear that was popular with Delta operators - some even complete with Stars and Stripes-adorned ‘Fuck al-Qaeda’ patches
