First time I’ve seen that interesting
Thanks
Great video you look like a great guy to work for
Great project: nice care for getting it right. I helped inspect these on subdivision developments and lots of guys don’t know how to give a hoot when putting these things in. Looks like y’all are doing it right. Keep rockin!
Awesome, comment thank you
This is like yard drainage on steroids. Awesome.
yes sir
Interesting, all the different lingo. We call them pre cast drainage inlets, bottom of invert, we use clean stone as our stabilizer, and the hole for where the pipe will go "the knockouts." All good, and all the same. Thanks for sharing!
I agree. I'm from the East Coast and the lingo is a little different. The ground we build on down here. Is the ground we avoided building on the East Coast.
Excellent Video. I am a Texas General Contractor and would like to know how I can get some rates on you doing this type of work? Thank you for your time in showing this footage.
Hey been a long time. Hope you had a great Christmas!
Thanks! You too!
👏🏼 question: if you were doing your own site(a shop for heavy equipment with a level parking lot) in a couple of acres. Is the black plastic pipe structural for the traffics? Or would you use concrete pipe? Imagine it would have 3-8 feet cover. Clay and sandstone. Thanks
How much would it cost to contract and instal the storm/sewer drain per the city’s requirement? Building a house
freakin out a lil bit with all the pinch points (why on earth are ya lifting the box like that?) and non wearing of hard hats....life is precious and everyone deserves to go home safely.... yea yea, i just had a osha class :)
Nothing wrong for looking out for somebody. Thanks
Hard hats don't save lives but might keep a bump away
If it has no lifting rings, how else are you going to lift it?
@@tomcander3669 actually hard hats do save lives...but I'm sure u were just kidding around
Is that pipe sloped? I would imagine it would need a sloped base before placement? Sorry, new to this.
Yes, the engineers give us the degree to put it on. Then we use the pipe laser to follow that. Thanks for watching
Does the FL of the inlet have to be the same elevation as the FL of the pipe?
You can have a drop on the flow line coming into the inlet if it is higher than the exit. But you have to use concrete and shape the bottom of the inlet to match the outgoing, flow line.
@@thomasconstructiontexas we’re installing 24” RCP storm drain. The thickness of the wall of the pipe is 4”. Should I cut the pipe on the bottom lip to reduce the thickness to 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch so it fits flush with the inlet so they both have the same flow line elevation (the pipe coming in and the inlet floor) or should i not cut it and leave the thickness of the pipe so the pipe coming in the inlet would have the FL elevation but the flow line of the inlet would be 4 inches lower because of the thickness of the pipe ? They inlets they ordered have a precast floor and the knockouts are not the right size. For example the pipe coming in can be 24 inch and the knockouts are 50 inch.
No, you order CBs with inverts already made
The developer did not want to wait for the backorder. Thanks for watching
@@thomasconstructiontexas yeah whatever....it's not that long of a lead time
Why don't you put the laser inside the pipe?
Taking the pipe from the sun and putting it down in the cool ditch will make the laser jump around. You can put a fan at the end of the pipe and solve that problem are you could set the laser on top. We have a lot of humidity
No savy!
who does the inspection?
and how much does the inspection cost?
is it city of houston?
