- This is a lovely short route (can be made longer) to the Cheedale Stepping Stones in The Peak District...
here is the route on OS Maps:
explore.osmaps...
2.5 miles long and relatively easy, ive classified it as moderate because there are rocky sections with are slippy and it can be very boggy, even flood at times so be aware after heavy rain it may be impassable!
What to take on a hike:
Backpack 20 litre
Waterproofs
spare warm jacket
small first aid kit
food and water (2litres)
battery pack and phone
paper map / compass or downloaded map
personal items / medication
also worth carrying, head torch, emergency blanket, waterproof bag cover, whistle.
clothing:
sturdy footwear
comfortable lightweight trousers or shorts
breathable t shirt
warm jacket
waterproofs
hope this is helpful! enjoy!
Nice little walk Sam. I haven't abseiled since 70s. Yes, I'd do it. This is one walk I've yet to do. It is always best to be prepared. Thanks for sharing Sam. Have a great week.
Done this today, great walk
Another great one mate cheers. 👌 so glad I come across your videos. Slowly working my way around all these stunning places in the Peak District.
I’ll be sure to check this one out and I might even attempt an owl call as I pass through the tunnel 😂 cheers buddy.
I did this walk yesterday with my boys and it was all thanks to your video ! It helped us navigate the route without getting lost 😅 thank you! Will definitely be going back
Cheers Sam what a fabulous walk stunning!!
Great video Sam really enjoying them,my wife and I did this a couple of weeks back. Cheers Andy.
I did this on Saturday but a longer version right down the river! That car park really does get busy and the route along the river is so narrow, lots of stopping to let people past, looks great when it’s quiet! Walking through that ravine gave proper jungle vibes, felt like South America rather than the UK! Great walk
Agreed it definitely gets busy! But it really feels like it could be anywhere in the world! Love it 🥾
Defo goin on the to do list, thanks👌👍
Me and son did this last month but we started a bit further back and walked more of the river amazing walk we did 10k in about an hour and half
Another phenomenal episode man, your content is always unique and so diverse! 👏👏
Youre too kind 🙏🙏
Thats on my to do list Sam, did dovedale steps and thorpe cloud yesterday, scorchio.
I bet that was busy! Sooo nice around there though especially with the sun out 🌅
@@Samrculley was quiet , I only go out early, not a crowd person.😅
One for my to do list but with someone in case I slip 😂
Would love to do this with my girls, how long did it take you to get to the stepping stones?
Hey, the whole walk takes me around an hour, bit slower with little ones I imagine… but nothing too long 👍👍
This guys ruining it for the people who live locally , but don’t worry as long as he’s earning money off his social media, that’s ok , great attitude, I’m alright Jack.
I visited last week from South Northants with my daughter . We stayed in Tideswell for 2 nights. Ate in two separate restaurants plus snacks from cafes, shops even made a donation to the church restoration in Tideswell. So , all in all including accommodation we probably spent in excess of £400. All put back into the local economy.
