Sir Alex won 9 league titles to Wengers 2 after your 98 title win. Also, talking budget? Sir Alex barely spent near the end of his reign and still won the 2007 league title (Carrick was his biggest signing of the summer), 2008 (Anderson and Nani), 2009 (where he only bought Berbatov), 2011 (Chicarito, and we also reached the 2011 CL final) and 2013 (your main man RVP). Wengers spent more recently and isn't even getting that close. Fergie did it with a budget, without budget which is why he's the best manager of all time and as much as I respect Wenger (which is a lot), Fergie is on a whole other level. "Arsene Wenger didn't have the budget Sir Alex had" That's true but Sir Alex Ferguson spent probably 30% of the budget that was available to him in his last 10 years yet he still managed to win the league 5 times from 2006 to 2013 and also a CL. Sir Alex spent on average 50 million every summer due to the greed of the owners. He could have spent 100 million more every summer.
That's why he couldn't built a team for the future. Any other manager wouldn't even come close to winning the league with our 2012/2013 average squad.

Yes we had a world class striker but that papered over the cracks. Fergie knew it was his last season so what did he do? He saw that Man city won the title on goal difference the season before and brought a top ST who done it in the PL and was 29 years old. Fergie wouldn't normally take that risk of buying an ageing ST. We had De Gea in goal who was just getting started. We had 32 year old Ferdinand and 31 year old Vidic in defence with Jones Evans and Smalling who was (bad at the time) as back ups. We had a 30 year old Evra at LB. Rafael at RB. 31 year old Carrick in midfield with Cleverly next to him. We had Ashley Young at LW. Valencia at RW and Rooney playing at CAM. There was only 1 or maybe 2 world class players on that team in Rooney and Van Persie. Arsenal's team now is miles better but I guarantee you that the Arsenal team now wouldn't win against that team and that's all down to Fergies genius.
RvP was our only world class player back then.

In his first stint at Chelsea he won the league twice and made the semi finals of the champions league. I'll give it to you this year as it went a bit south with Chelsea, but the players turned against him and would not listen to him at all. The primary difference between Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho is that Arsenal as a club is complacent and okay with mediocrity while the clubs that Mourinho was at, expected nothing less than perfection.

He doesn't take risks, he doesn't spend money, he dithers around in the transfer market and is out of competitions when the chips are down. Your fans are the ones throwing programmes at him venting to him how thrifty he is with money.

Well said man and I am a thoroughbred gunner. I support Arsene because he is our manager. So ofcourse I have a bias. But defending the indefensible is just plain stupid. Wenger has great qualities but he is not a serial winner like SAF and, dare I say it, Mourinho. This is evident by the fact that he has immense job security unlike almost any other manager except SAF in his day who deserved to have such security after what he achieved. Yet he still has never won a CL and only 3 league titles, albeit one amazing gold one with absolute world class players. I like Wenger and appreciate him because he is all most Arsenal fans have ever known but imho he is vastly overrated. And the money thing is just a red herring, SAF remained a serial winner when he had world class players and when he had really mediocre squads despite the glazers messing Utd about. Worst part is I''ll probably be called a plastic fan but I love the club ridiculously but refuse to defend the indefensible and become delusional. A true analysis of AW doesnt make you a plastic fan
Brian Keville many of your points is right but in the beginning Wenger came from Japan to implement a style of football that was relatively unknown in England at the time also he bought players that we not really high profile and won the league without losing a match with those players I think thats taking a big risk imo

Pep thing was pretty stupid. 1) He changes clubs pretty often, why should he wait and stay unemployed(probably for a decade) until Wenger retires?! 2) Going to teams with good players is not easy task if you are going to achieve as great things as he did. It is possible to win one premierleague title with Leicester City FC or teams like that but you need great players to win 20 titles in 7 years, because at the end of the day players score goals not managers. On the other hands there are other managers who had same luxury in terms of budget and player selection but nobody achieved same results. 3) Even if he was taking easy tasks, that has nothing to do with Arsenal, he never disrespected the club or its players or Arsene Wenger.
P.S. I think the real reason you hate him(maybe you don't realise it either) is that Arsenal played against his teams in Champions League playoffs many times and he was always the winner and also he took a few Arsenal stars to Barcelona including Thierry Henry.
