New rules is them younger as teenages while No Rules is them as adults, remember in the guide TXT's albums and songs tell the stories of growing up. This album in particular is them really really getting into the darker side of growing up, also you will find that quite a few of TXT's happy sounding songs have dark messages. I suggest "Ice Cream" by them next

New rules is really about growing up and being a teenager and not knowing what the rules are and everything changing It was on the Album The Dream Chapter: Magic....The dream chapter Magic is all about their magical journey, growing up and sharing adventures and frustrations etc that come with being a teenager. No Rules is from the Album The Chaos Chapter: Freeze is about their dreams being swept away by the real world especially by things like Covid etc which are changing their world and they have no control over. So first there were the new rules that came with growing up but now with all the restrictions on them (especially because of covid) they are feeling trapped and want to get out....they want there to be no rules. If you read the lyrics again with the fact that this album came out during covid it may help you understand it better.
Ahh man, I so wish you did the dance practice. It is one of the more popular ones. It's okay though. I know it will come later. :) Also TXT is sort of notorious for having happy sounding songs with sad lyrics. Lol especially their b sides. MOAs joke about it all the time.
