Bravo Pavarotti! This rendition of this song haunts me with its beauty and sincerity. It plays over and over again in my head and I find myself singing this song to myself. It gets me to the core. I miss live Pavarotti and his glorious voice! RIP maesto!
An orchestra of sound, literally, emanated from this great artist. When you think you've heard it all, there are still amazing surprises and gems. Long live the Maestro!
For all the claim of his ability to hit the high, towering notes, his soft pianissimo and diminuendo - the subtle, emotional moments - are just heartbreaking and unforgettable. He was extraordinary.
I am fourteen years old. My peers listen to their precious Biebers and One Directions, but that saddens me. This is music. Music at its prime. I love this. Do not lose hope in this generation. Don't give up on us yet. There are a few who know what beauty sounds like.
I just had to give a big shout out to this posting. I noticed it was from 7 years ago. I imagine that someone with that kind of heart and great taste has flourished and continues to love this extraordinary music. Kudos and best wishes.
So moving. At every stage of is life his voice added something more, and something different. I think part of his mastery lay in being able to draw on that growing richness throughout.
operaluvr , to have met and sung for the maestro, is a wonderful thing. You were blessed to do so. I never had a chance to see him live, but he is enthralling on film and tape as a person can be. If god ever listens to misic, i know who sings for him.
It's been three years, and I still have a hard time thinking of him as no longer with us. Maybe it's the timeless quality of his singing, but I watch this and feel like he's still alive.
Caro mio ben is one of the songs on the Pavarotti Forever CD and I have to hear it every day. I don't know what it means, but it's so beautiful it sounds sacred to me. And yes, magnificent is the perfect description of him. He is the MAESTRO forever!
June 2016....Had to say I have been listening to some of the new tenors.....Pavarotti forgive me!!! For pure emotion and soul you are still the Maestro!!
Che faro or "What is life to me without you", Glucks choice of a castrato I find hard to take. Listen to contralto Kathleen ferrier, also in Brahms and Mahler this exceptional voice is utterly unique..you must listen!!!
What will I do without Euridice, where will I go without my beloved? Euridice,God, answer! I'm pure and your faithful. What will I do without Euridice..etcoetera I haven't got aid anymore, I haven't got hope. Neither the world nor the Heaven (can help me). What will I do ...
My dear beloved, believe me at least, without you my heart languishes. Your faithful always sighs, cease, cruel, such a rigor. My dear beloved, believe me at least, without you my heart languishes.
Sorry, but I had to rush through that last one and never got to finish it! Dame Janet Baker sings both of these last two by Pavarotti. I truly believe that she is as great a singer as Mr. Pavarotti. She does the entire ORFEO and EURIDICE opera if one wants to hear some really magnificent singing!
The only thing i didn't like about this performance was that they were already playing the song faster than im used to and pavarotti was pushing still.
Everyone else sounds like they are struggling when accompanied only with the piano.....and slightly out of key and unable to reach the high notes. Well done Big Man
It's from "Orfeo e Erudice" or Orpheus and Euridice from mythology ...Euridice is killed by a snake at her wedding to Orpheus and is taken to the underworld. "Que faro senza Euridice" What will I do without Euridice? "Dov'e andro senza il mio ben" Where will I go without my beloved?
@ThomSleepCycle Eh it's not really that noticeable, but the where he sings "tanto rigor".....the last note sang on tanto should've been the first syllable to rigor. Just being nit-picky lol. He's still amazing!
Dudes, it's "Che farò senza Euridice". Faro = Lighthouse. Farò = will do. The title means "What will I do without Euridice", NOT "What lighthouse without Euridice" by an italian Tenor ;)
@lancer2589 good for you singing opera at 16 years old. you any good ? upload a video to youtube and send me a link would love to hear your voice Billy
I'm sorry I was not specific. I'm refering to the tenor key of "Che faro senza Euridice" - the second aria he is singing in this clip. Where can I locate it in the key he is singing it in??
Every time he sings Caro mio ben I know why God chose my career path for me as a typist.
That's one of the most amusing comments I've seen on CZcams!! :-)
Wow... his voice is beautiful. I stopped breathing from the first note!
Bravo Pavarotti! This rendition of this song haunts me with its beauty and sincerity. It plays over and over again in my head and I find myself singing this song to myself. It gets me to the core. I miss live Pavarotti and his glorious voice! RIP maesto!
Hmmm... how could 21 people not like this? RIP, Mr. Pavarotti.
who can tell?
They're the antifa thugs now.

Bravo Maestro Luciano!!!
For me his death means the end of belcanto era. He was the best liric tenor of all times.
Beautiful efforless singing. Wonderful legato. What an artist.
So moving. At every stage of is life his voice added something more, and something different. I think part of his mastery lay in being able to draw on that growing richness throughout.
Bravissimo, belissimo e' perfetto!
I ******* love this man. Sad the Pavarotti tenors ended with him. RIP maestro
Well sung, and accoustics great. Balance of Piano and voice also good..This lovely song was written as a tribute to Beniamino Gigli..
Thank you ,excellent quality not only from the late Pavarotti but sound and film...
Think we will miss this great tenor!

ya well im 15 and its getting there for me
hes amazing and im thankful i heard this song

The best performance of this beautiful piece. Thank you so much for posting .
Beautifully sung! A striking performance.
many thanks. so wonderful to hear the gluck sung like this!
What a beautiful melody and what a performance by the GREAT Pavarotti!! another wonderful rendition of this lovely melody is
sung by Dame Janet Baker
That's a voice lesson right there...Bravo!
MY INSPIRATION....TRULY A GOD GIVEN TALENT
Bravo!
Wow! He is the best...
Grazie

I keep coming back to this effortless beautiful voice coming from a large man
stunning voice
That was amazing!!!
ooohhh.. that was nice... :(
I miss thee.
soooo deep....sooooo perfect.......
singing caro mio ben for voice... just wow! how, how can I possibly sing it without thinking about how AMAZING pavarotti was!!!!!
@dilvishselar
What a great loss! But at least he lived a longer life than my favorite lyric tenor, Fritz Wunderlich.
Thank you very much for posting this video! :)
June 2016....Had to say I have been listening to some of the new tenors.....Pavarotti forgive me!!! For pure emotion and soul you are still the Maestro!!
Bravo Pavarotti!!! Also skillful work from the pianist John Wustman. Hello John if you're out there!!
Thank you so much for posting this!!
che bella
It just perfect song
HIS VOICE MAKES ME WANTTO FALL ON MY KNEES AND BLESS HIS NAME
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! No words!
amazing
Despite what most people think, operatic singing takes a LOT of energy. Lots of tenors get red faced in tough passages.
Che faro or "What is life to me without you", Glucks choice
of a castrato I find hard to take.
Listen to contralto Kathleen ferrier, also in Brahms and Mahler
this exceptional voice is utterly unique..you must listen!!!
el mejor tenor que vi
This makes me so sad that I wasn't able to go to one of his concerts before he passed.
@operaluvr wow. That is an amazing story.
What will I do without Euridice, where will I go without my beloved? Euridice,God, answer! I'm pure and your faithful. What will I do without Euridice..etcoetera I haven't got aid anymore, I haven't got hope. Neither the world nor the Heaven (can help me). What will I do ...
Thanks to marcelissino for this posting... and to Paulo for sending my way. Grazie. Doug --
unicoooooooooo
Great!
we have the same DVD Player xD
not yet lost? geez, he was just warming up here. much greatness to come...don't cut him off too soon!
What a Bro
somehow this makes me feel sad...
My dear beloved, believe me at least, without you my heart languishes. Your faithful always sighs, cease, cruel, such a rigor. My dear beloved, believe me at least, without you my heart languishes.
voice of an angel
Che farò senza Euridice.....
What i will do without Euridice.....
damn!! he's good!!!
Rest in peice!
Speaking of the "Che faro senza Euridice" in my last comment.
Schirmer's Library of Musical Classics Twenty-Four Italian Songs and Arias. It is published for every voice type, I'm singing it as a baritone.
Sorry, but I had to rush through that last one and never got to finish it! Dame Janet Baker sings both of these last two by Pavarotti. I truly believe that she is as great a singer as Mr. Pavarotti. She does the entire ORFEO and EURIDICE opera if one wants to hear some really magnificent singing!

il meglio di pavarotti (in senso vocale)
@lancer2589 just so blessed...
It is very old opera aria.
@dilvishselar Pavarotti thought that Juan Diego Florez is the next big tenor. Indeed, nowadays he is the biggest Bel Canto Tenor.
@phantom8472 I still cry.
I like that even pavarotti isn't perfect at singing. He messed up the "tanto rigor" but it still sounds excellent :)
The accompanist is the most unhelpful here. Rushing Rushing ....
Euridice, Euridice
Ah! non m'avanza
Più soccorso, più speranza,
Né dal mondo,
né dal ciel!
Che farò senza Euridice?
Dove andrò senza il mio ben
Che faro dove andro
Che faro senza il mio ben
Dove andro che faro
Dove andro senza il mio ben?
The only thing i didn't like about this performance was that they were already playing the song faster than im used to and pavarotti was pushing still.
one of the advantages of having perfect pitch---
Everyone else sounds like they are struggling when accompanied only with the piano.....and slightly out of key and unable to reach the high notes.
Well done Big Man

"Que faro senza Euridice"
What will I do without Euridice?
"Dov'e andro senza il mio ben"
Where will I go without my beloved?
Brīnišķīgi!
Oh yeah, thanks... I'll send you a message right away....
@ThomSleepCycle Eh it's not really that noticeable, but the where he sings "tanto rigor".....the last note sang on tanto should've been the first syllable to rigor. Just being nit-picky lol. He's still amazing!
Dudes, it's "Che farò senza Euridice".
Faro = Lighthouse.
Farò = will do.

@lancer2589 good for you singing opera at 16 years old. you any good ? upload a video to youtube and send me a link would love to hear your voice
Billy
Does anyone know where to get the sheet music to this in the published tenor key?
I'm sorry I was not specific. I'm refering to the tenor key of "Che faro senza Euridice" - the second aria he is singing in this clip. Where can I locate it in the key he is singing it in??
I have it in finale format... still need it?
@Stingerfyle Fritz Wunderlich is great singer, but i like Luciano more. Ewen wrote o book about him. It is in russian...
