I remember playing a MBC deck at my local game store like 15 years ago. It was so notorious that people were playing decks with Enlightened Tutors and a maindeck Karma. Alas, I was playing with Mirrodin and Kamigawa cards, and an all-star from Kamigawa was Genju of the Fens.
uuuugh, this archetype is my fave of all time due to getting competitive in Odysee block as a mono black player.... i was spoiled. Damn I wish it could compete.
Current meta is awful for MBC players.
I played a ton of MBC during ODY/ONS standard and for sure did an involuntary cheer after that topdeck in game one.
I played in that era too but it was clearly better than now in premodern.
@@PremodernMTGO Agreed. The deck does cool things, but seems much too fair when compared to most of the top tier premodern archetypes.
Mind Sludge for their hand still feels really great though, I'm sure.
@@andrewbeckett805 True, probably sludge and echoes are the cards that makes you feel the best (despite you might not win)
Finally another proper deck you're using. 😁
I love this archetype and I played it at my local game store for some time ,but I found it was very slow and I tried to build a "slim version" of it with tainted pact instead of tutors and masticore instead of Visara/Avatar.
Love the deck, but is pity it is a tier 3 or 4 in premodern.
Nice gameplay
Also, no "Top deck!" for the Corrupt at the end?
I believe the first was clearly better, don't have so many cards that give me that advantage and drawing the single decree was very lucky and i probably die next turn, at the end i got 2 more turns to deal with a single creature so it's more probably i draw that makes me deal with it.
*places order for Decree of Pain*
🤣
Slightly baffling play in game 2, you played the arena into naturalize, and tutored for avatar of woe instead of a duress or mind sludge?
Yes, after seeing the result was a missplay i believe he couldn't handle both menaces.
