That's what the writers said. They originally wanted Jess to come make appearances throughout all 6 seasons. Which is why he is there from seasons 2-6. He didn't come back because he started a new show during season 7 and I believe he and Alex broke up at that time as well.

okay, I'm sitting in my bed sobbing like a maniac, but I must say that this is BY FAR my favorite Jess/Rory fan made video ever. The song fits their relationship perfectly, all the clips and voiceovers are in the perfect order and your editing and coloring really ties it all together. I just recently finished watching the series of Gilmore Girls, and Jess was my favorite for Rory. Again, thanks so much for the amazing video. ❤️
I'm marathoning Gilmore Girls now that it's on Netflix and I absolutely hate that Rory and Jess don't end up together. Honestly, all her BFs had their faults, but I felt like her and Jess really belonged together. This video makes me so sad.

Say that Logan is the dad, Chris and Logan are both a part of Emily’s world in Hartford and Jess and Luke aren’t, they’re down to earth more, not that Logan and Chris aren’t. Even though they loved Logan and Chris, I think Jess will be endgame just as Luke was.

I never liked them when they were together, but before they got together and when she was with Logan, when she went to see him they were PERFECT. My headcannon was while she was travelling, they managed to meet up and work it out.
