- Christmas music is among the most polarizing genres in all of music. But regardless of how you view it, I think we can all agree that Christmas music contributes a lot to the spirit of the holiday season. So today, I'm going to record my first Christmas song!

Im not a Christmas tune guy but that is a good song ... should be on the radio.
Amazing talent! Thanks for your musical gift. 😊
Wow congrats man, I can't imagine how much work it must be to pump out so many quality songs + videos so often!
Each episode probably takes me around 40 hours to produce. That includes writing the song, mixing the song, writing the script, shooting it, and editing it. Believe it or not I do everything myself, but it's worth it. Growing this community and connecting with people through my art is something I've always wanted- and I finally feel like I have it! So thank you for watching, commenting, and supporting. It makes all the hard work worthwhile.
Every video you put out is joyful, informative, optimistic and inspiring... thank you for that ! Bless you for that new year and have fun making music !
Take care
Thank you so much for watching and supporting!
It's good two weeks before Christmas.
Wow... You're such a creative beast! As long as you're producing I guarantee I'll be around enjoying. Happy holidays Spencer! God bless you
That was excellent! And I love how you break everything down!
This certainly captures the mood of the Christmas spirit! Great tune!.
I don't like Christmas songs, but loved that episode. Wishing you happy holidays, Spencer.
I like it. Reminds me a bit of Just Haven't Met You Yet. Good Christmas vibes.
I prefer more of the classic swing christmas songs over stuff like mariah carey but overall i think theyre good for setting the mood
Well done. There's a really big channel about music production in Germany by Marti Fischer, and I think I wrote him a comment to make a christmas classic. He never did, but little did I know, my man Spencer has got me covered. All I wanted for christmas is a new classic song! Thanks man!
I gotchu dude!!
Yes, i agree; you're kind of "the english speaking marti fischer" (i'm german too, obviously :-)
When I saw the title of the video, I thought "oh no, should I watch this".... But dude, you totally sleighed!
I appreciate that! Sleighing is always the goal.
Gold Champ.
Merry Christmas Spencer 🎅 and thanks for another informative, jaw dropping and well orchestrated music composition.
You guessed it - I'm an big fan of yours and your work just keeps getting better.
As for your question - Christmas songs belongs to Christmas season and for me it's great way to get into the vibe. In Sweden we have a very traditional sequence of events going from advent -> lucia -> Christmas Eve encompassing all from jingles, carols, Psalms, choirs and dancing around the Christmas tree, and music is a great catalyst to brings back (good) memories.
So yes, not a fan of the "pop Christmas songs" but what you made is fun! Well done!
"I just havent met you yet... Santa!! "
Have an awesome Christmas Spencer thanks !!
50k + subs will be your Next Christmas
Merry Christmas and I appreciate the support and well wishes. It means so much
Thanks for the video! It sounds a bit like a hundred other songs - but most songs do, right..? :) Regarding Christmas songs, I really like Fairytale of New York (just learnt it on guitar) but most other songs makes me change channel... (If "Fairytale.." is even a real Christmas song? Or just a great song whose story takes place on Christmas eve?)
I just came across your channel by youtube recommendations. I love, what you do, the way you explain it and also the results (compositions/recordings). great content! ❤
Awesome! Thank you!
quality videos for sure!
Much appreciated!
Common Spencer W, remember me when you blow up!!
I'll never forget you, JON4H!
Nailed it brother!
Thanks, dude!
This is a really nice Christmas song and I would really like to learn how you do the left hand patterns of the piano parts, because it always goes to fast for me to see. It's staccato plus in a sense and I really like it. Well done!
Always look forward to your stuff! To answer your question, I don't mind Christmas music. Most of Christmas music can be very corny, but there are some bangers like my personal favorite, Jingle Bell Rock. Your song also came out really good! It definitely have a pop/punk meets broadway musical vibe!
I had to pause the video to put my Santa hat on too!
That's the spirit!
Love your videos. Keep them coming and happy Xmas!
Merry Christmas Spencer! Fantastic video as always
Thanks! You too!
Ah what a wonderful Christmas song. Loved it! What do you think of this alternative for the bridge?
Cmaj7 E7 Am7 (chord)
G Ab A (melody)
Running out of time
I love all the corny classic Christmas songs of the 40s and 50s especially (though for me nothing beats Vince Guaraldi’s Charlie Brown Christmas).
As a fellow songwriter I love your channel. Hoping Santa brings you 100000 subscribers. Merry Christmas! 🎄
Merry Christmas and thank you so much for the support and well wishes. It means more than you know!
Christmas music really pisses me off. I don't like Christmas much either.
But your song is good. I appreciate that you kept a natural sound on the vocals, not overediting or overcorrecting them. Same for everything else that you did. I feel like most christmas music since the nineties is extremely overedited, like most pop music has been.
Made me feel something for sure. Hope to see your channel grow much more, it seems you're putting in a lot of work with the production quality as well.
It is a hell of a lot of work but it's worth it just to grow the community. The support means everything so thank you!
And I agree, I feel like there hasn't been many Christmas classics since the 1990s. Michael Buble had a few but aside from that- I can't think of any.
I definitely got the feeling you're very attached to those lyrics and you love this song. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think I'm right 😊
When it comes to Christmas music, I'm more of a Frank Sinatra retro vibes guy, rather than Mariah Carrey upbeat vibes. I feel like those songs carry with them a sad undertone as well, which is more realistic and it sounds much more layered in terms of emotion.
Thank you for sharing your process, great video as always! Feeling very inspired after watching your videos. Did you do a research about this type of song before making the song, or were you just familiar with all the characteristics of it anyway?
I didn't do any research before hand. I knew Jingle Bells were key, and I had the main staccato chord progression for about a year. I combined the two mainly as a joke and it worked so I figured it was time to record a Christmas song!
Why are you making music in all the ways I might😬
This was an amazing song hahaha!
If you just ramped up the emotion a bit, you would sound a lot like Gerard Way! I think you should totally just go over the track as emotively as possible, one take over the vox and see if you can create the MCR cover LOL!!!
I'll keep this in mind! A lot of people have compared me to Gerard Way and Billie Joe, which makes sense since I grew up listening to them.
@songsbyspencer Yeah man!! I am a big fan of thise artists, and I have been compared MCR myself, before. However it is mainly when I am a using a pretty high-timbre (if you get what I mean!) and then act extremely emotional on the recording.
You could totally pull off a GW impression... my advice is to sing as if your mother just died and you just got told you have cancer 😆🤣haha it's funny but for real, dude goes hard in his (studio) tunes!
Christmas music should be joyful, fun, easy-to-sing. But more that these, Christmas music should be a pure-heartedly adoration to the birth of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
I mean... I feel kinda weird writing this, because I just watched and enjoyed your entire video... But I absolutely hate Christmas songs! Perhaps because my wife and kids insists on having it on from early november
Christmas music should only be played in December. And it should stop on the 26th!
Thanks for watching and I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Happy Holidays!
@@songsbyspencer Agreed! Merry christmas to you and yours.
