I also know arabic and the translation is wrong. The english translator got it from the Korean one down below which is also wrong. This is very disappointing they are twisting their words. مخرفين

It is very nice to see the "normal" side of Arab families , and not the stiff facade and stereotyped version that everyone thinks about them. There are many people like yaser and his family. An affectionate dad with lots of love for his wife and kids, and very bright children with dreams ☺

8:50 It was clearly stated that he went against religious authorities so maybe that is why he is not very strong in the Islam faith or maybe not even religious at all, which is why he drinks. Maybe just the wife is Muslim and allows the daughters to choose if they want to follow the religion. Don't tear others down just because he's not doing what you do. He's a caring father, loving husband, and wonderful man.
Preach, that was my impression too. He seems a liberal muslim that wants to live a happy life with his wife and daugthers.
biggestfanever1 I agree with you, but just to clear things up, he must be Muslim, because a non Muslim man cannot marry a Muslim Woman, he's most probably Muslim, but still, deinking is his choice and plenty of Muslims drink. Also, the only country that forces women to cover up is KSA so there's no issue with the way the girls dress IMHO
They are an amazing and loving family and that's all that matters.

The relationship he has with his family I mean come on got me bawling it’s so sweet and how they’re just struggling to make ends meet and survive with nothing but love for each other it’s crazy
I think their marriage is so cute... I don't want to get married but it's cute to see how much dedication they have to each other. The father who works overtime, nights and all week away from his family for long distances of time so he can support them. The mother who wants to open a store to help him with his finances and never complains or anything as they are currently in a troubling time but instead manages the money. The korean people are very nice to them I can see. This is a cute show! I'm going to watch binge watch all the episodes lol
At 20:15 the mother says “ Noran loves the school and she would love to go to a language school & doesn’t want to continue in a public school as she knows it’s going to be hard for her , and the teacher came and talked to me about it so....”
but the translation goes like
“ there is a high school Noran wants to go to but it’s expensive, we are talking about it a lot, it’s going to be hard for her to decide “
The translator seem to have no clue what she is saying
It’s one thing getting a few words or expressions wrong . But he cant even deliver the feeling and the meaning behind the mother’s words . She didn’t mention a single word about it being expensive
Get a new translator. Seriously !
The translator probably doesn't even know Arabic properly, there are a lot of mistakes! Also, it's 26:15
Cute girls, strong mother, and... what an amazing, sweet, wise, and thoughtful father!! This family is truly a gem.
I just feel bad for them. They had to leave their home country, it must be hard for them to adapt to Korea's culture. But the girls are just doing great, they have korean friends, they can speak korean and stuffs. So in my opinion, it's pointless to judge people when you have no idea how far they've come or what they've been thro!

The relationship the father and mother have is just adorable. I also hope that seeing these comments, people will one day finally understand that minding your own business is 100% free. Here we have a story of an Egyptian family surviving together in a foreign country and instead of hoping for their health and happiness we are bickering amongst ourselves.
I laughed my ass off as an Egyptian I was so confused why the mom's name was lasha I've never heard it before but then I realized they meant rasha and same for parida it's farida i know Koreans pronounce the f as p and r as l😂😂👍

I really don't like when they twist the mums words. I speak arabic so it's really noticeable when they mistranslate her words. Please bring a good arabic translator
80% of the translation are wrong kind of made the mother looks as if they hate Korean when she said something totally different
Yeah, the same with other languages, it's a pity. Is KBS too stingy to pay a bit of money for real translators? It appears they just look for some of their office staff who says he can speak this or that language, and tell him to go ahead and make subtitles.

I really admire this family and I hope they can get through the hardships that are thrown in their way. I really admire the mother for challenging herself and the father for working so hard in a different emviroment. They seem like a very hardworking family but I feel like the eldest isn't understanding their finances and wants to go to an expensive highschool but maybe if she applied for financial aid or a scholarship it might be better for her to go there.
It made me realize that what my friend told me. “Life in korea was not like what you see on Drama”.
