How they choose to respond would inform me as to how I should continue to interact. However, the initial interaction was always my responsibility as a newcomer. To be honest this gave me confidence as a child and later as an adult because I don't wait for others to make me feel a part or like I belong.

I was being raised in the 70’s and my momma didn’t tolerate a lot of things not even the lil things that didn’t even need cause for anything. My moms was raised in the 50’s and I know that was even stricter cause her mom and dad was some old school people born and raised in Puerto Rico. But then that explains a lot and the reason why she was so hard on us.

I love these videos. There is a protocol for young people coming into the house. In this clip, the father allowed him to self-correct. He chose to take the alternative path. Some homes are like that. When there's a mother to intervene, she would have caused a de-escalation before he got it from dad.
