Thats because I have both and love both games and settings. I hate the "polarising trend" of "this is better than that" and then give a lot of subjetive stuff.
I understand completely. But people click on polarizing videos. For example, you clicked on this video and left a comment. Both of which are good for the algorithm and encourage people like me to make more polarizing videos. I've posted about 140 videos on this channel since mid December and so far people have viewed 208 hours of my content. This one video which you commented on was posted 10 days ago and it accounts for 102 hours of watch time. It is also responsible for about 20% of my subscriber count. I know that my reasons are mostly subjective (The cost thing isn't Warhammer is legitimately more expensive than Legion, no subjectivity to that one) but people don't watch videos like this for objectivity. They watch it to validate their own opinions about why their game is superior. Hear what the "peasant legion player" has to say so they can laugh and mock him. Just got into Legion - honestly not interested in Warhammer initially (visually, lore etc.) hence why I never got into that kind of games in the first time. But always felt to be attracted to this. Discovered Legion last month with a YT battle report video and fell in love with it. I'm an all time star-wars fan so that's the perfect match for me.
as a fan of both systems and also both franchises, i would always recommend if you want to get into 40k to start with killteam. It is a much smaller skirmish game with a lower price ceiling and far simpler rules that stkll has room to grow and become very good at!
Thanks, I was thinking about that, it seems like a much lower barrier to entry. It's still confusing trying to figure out what kill teams are made of. Legion special operations makes immediate sense to me but the way upgrades are handled makes me think that if I go out and buy a box with six marines in it that if I take it to a store to play someone my opponent is going to tell me I can't use something. If this makes you want to play 40k that's fine by me. But I don't get how the incredibly high price of Games Workshop products is an advertisement for them. Warhammer definately has an audience. You said 24 factions, their are technically also subfactions for a significant number of them. Also I feel like having more factions is a good thing, it gives the player so much more to choose from, which also allows you to find the exact thing you like. Also, you dont have to buy all the codexs, there is also wahapedia, which has all the rules for free. Anyway, thats just my opinion, i dont care what people prefer, i like many tabletop games and you can choose what you prefer
Thanks, you to! I like legion in addition to 40k and it is definitely the easier game to get into despite how much GW has done. I love it when games are cheap(ish) to get into and fun to play, and that is what legion is. I definitely do not disagree with quite a few of the points, ultimately I do prefer 40k, but I have been playing it far longer than legion.

I'm sure it was brought up already, but just like in Legion, several of those models come as "units" where there are multiple models per package. For instance, the Sentinels come in packs of 2-3. I know that might sound like splitting hairs, but that cuts your estimate of the cost of that individual bit by half. The difference between the two games is really two-fold. The theme and the scope. Legion, despite the name, is about small skirmishes. 40k is about large assaults. You did get the nail right on the head with the theme. 40k is adults only, or at the very least, needs adult supervision. I started with Legion and found it extremely annoying that we bounced back and forth every time someone touched a model. I also hate how fantasy flight (the original producer of Legion) made the game system off proprietary dice. I HATE proprietary dice. Especially when they are color locked or have symbols that make it difficult for me to distinguish at a distance. 40k works off regular d6 pip dice. I'm glad you are actually more open than you initially seemed.
Totally man, I think people should play the game the want to play, I want to play both Legion and 40k. But these kind of controversial videos are just so much more interesting to people. I can see by your name you are a Star Wars guy. A lot of people like the Grimdark story and many characters. on the setting. About the miniatures, the game has become very expensive, but the GW models are beautiful. For a new player, Legion is easier to learn.
For sure, I could easily make another video why warhammer is better than legion and the fact that so many people like the grimdark would be an obvious contender on the list. The only two points which I think really fall in the favor of legion are that legion is generally cheaper, and 40k is too dark for kids. I hope you have a nice day.
This list is pretty good. In 40k expect to drop 500-1000 dollars to build a standard army. I had a standard army for starwars after like 200 and also a skirmish army. Also, as a dad, the kid thing is huge! Dont discount this. Not just the universe, but the rule set and the dice. In 40k there is a lot of mental math about what needs to roll to score a hit, to wound, to save, and to possibly save again with massive dice pools. In legion it is a simple rolling system with hits/saves being symbols on dice as well as much much less dice rolling. I also like how much easier it is to keep both players engaged in legion with the orders system. 40k can be boring as you may not be doing anything sometimes for up to 30m while you wait for your opponenet to move, shoot, cast, charge, and attack with the entire army. And then you may have lost 25% of your army before you even go. Also, with so many armies (and sub armies) in 40k, it makes it stupid hard to balance the game, both internal to an army and en masse. Last, 40k changes the rules every few years. We are not talking small changes, but massive rewrites that requires buying a new rule book and codex, and sometimes it drastically changes how an army plays. That said, there are things 40k does better. The models are amazing quality and blows legions models away. The system allows for more creative deployment and movement tactics with reserves and deepstrikes. The scale is amazing as you can have an army of 5 towering mechwarrior like models vs 300 infantry models and it would be competitive. 40k scratches an itch that legion doesnt. But Ive found legion to be quite enjoyable and has many pros over 40k.

Interesting video and points raised. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and personal experience and opinions. I think they are different products that provide different experiences but they have evolved to be somewhat of a lifestyle for some people. It’s really interesting that you raise the point about kids, I agree that SW seems much more suitable for a kid but it’s still war gaming at the end of the day but I think you could alter it or present it in a different fashion if need be or focus more on a storyline than the actual fighting or killing. Or you could present it more like “fighting” or neutralizing opponents than outright killing. Or focus more on the crafting aspect of the hobby. Kids love that. Still killing is a part of this earthly experience but I would be conscious of how I would present it to kids. Also kids can mean many things. When they are more grown up I believe they are much more suited of processing the realities of fighting and potentially death. I’ve never played any of the aforementioned games(only 40k videogames) but I watch a lot of videos of 40k and watched some Legion too. Lastly I would like to raise the issue of pricing which to my ignorant self does seem excessive maybe even for Legion too. I don’t obviously know the running costs of each company but I would like to know if they compensate their employees and designers and workers fairly. Won’t take more of your time, have a good one 🙂🙂

Also, I do like the hobby element of the game and getting kids involved. My last video which I release rather yesterday or the day before is actually me teaching my niece and nephews how to make terrain for wargaming/RPGs. When I think of kids I am thinking of kids on the younger end of the spectrum rather than the older end. There is just a lot of very dark elements to the lore. If you're playing in your own house then it could be really easy, but if you take a little kid to a tournament then there is a good chance they are going to be seeing some death guard or Slaanesh that isn't going to be good for them. I've never seen anything on unfair working conditions regarding either company, but I haven't really looked much into it. I hope you have a nice day.

I started playing legion but now i play both 40K and Legion. What I love about Legion the most are the upgrade cards that can really change a unit into something different. What I love about 40K is of course the ridiculous Orks😂 and lore which surprised me how good it really was once you started understanding it. With tenth edition the appeal of Star Wars legion got a little smaller for me since it’s getting easier to teach people 40K with combat patrol and killteam. I’m also still waiting for the Valentine day release bundle of Mace Windu and Jango fett 😂😂
I Started with legion too but I got Leviathan so I can start playing 40k when I paint them up. For some reason the algorithm hasn't pushed it but I have another video where I talk about why 40k is better than legion actually. They are both fun.
When kids think of Star Wars, they can think of Anakin winning a pod race, and then later murdering children, and then later burning alive next to a river of lava.
I think that the idea that exposing kids to everything to offer all at once is the only way to do it is a false dichotomy. Showing kids episode 1 could work, but you don't show them episode 3 until they are older. Or you show them the clone wars TV show. Citing the most disturbing parts of the IP as reason why the entire IP isn't acceptable is an argument in bad faith. 40k on the other hand is specifically made non-child-friendly. The entire setting is just bursting with things that are inappropriate for kids. That's what I'm saying. Have a great day.
I stopped playing warhammer for almost all of these reasons, plus one more: When you are new, you have almost nothin whereas veteran players have quite a lot. Meaning whatever you have in your arsenal, your opponent will just tailor their army to destroy yours. I just got the empire starter box for legion and with all the videos I've watched, I must say I'm quite looking forward to playing the game. Also yes, you're looking at anywhere between 700-1500 dollars for any warhammer army. Can't say I recommend it.
I just bought my first 2 warhammer armies (Leviathan). I've long been a fan of 40k thanks to Dawn of War. But I prefer legion. You're point about tailoring an army is significant to me. I have all five Legion factions, I have introduced a number of people to the game by letting them play my faction, but because they don'T understand I could easily tailor my army to defeat theirs, even after they have played a few games. It is really important for veteran players to make it an enjoyable experience and not just slaughter new players. Have a nice day.
Get the Xenos Rampant/Dragon Rampant rules and use whatever minis you want with simple, fun rules! Space/Sword Weirdos rules are wonderful too. Miniature ignostic games FTW!
I don't play WH40K but I know a little about it. I know you can get a Recruit starter kit with two armies and commanders plus a set of starter paints for under $100 MSRP. Yes, there are technically a lot of factions, but some of those factions are actually factions inside of factions. There are sub factions of the Imperium of Man, Tyranids, and Chaos Marines. One doesn't have to look into the lore of 40k, well too much, to play it. The problem with 40k is that most people only see the gigantic tournaments with massive armies and painted terrain. I grant you there is a great deal of supplemental guides that GW tries to sell you, and that unfortunately happens that a lot of people who haven't done the research spend way more money than they need too, but if I bought all the models for the Imperial faction, it would set me back more than $500, and that doesn't include paints.

@@DaLEGOmaniac If you buy either of the starter sets or the "essentials kit" then you get three movement tools. They have a moveable joint in the middle in order to turn corners. Every unit in the game has either a movement of 1, 2, or 3. The movement tools also have curved ends to fit around model bases. Anything larger than the smallest trooper has a notch i it's base which the movement tool fits in. It is pretty efficient.
That could be really cool. So far I haven't done any of the 3d prints. I'm still trying to fill out all my armies with actual product, but honestly some of the 3D modelers out there are absolutely fantastic. You know, just not tournament legal. Thanks for watching, have a great day.

First of all the army that you are talking about at the 7 minute mark is the imperial guard and they are known for either being all tanks or tones on infantry, and for me warhammer is easier to get into because of the popularity and that when I went to games workshop I got a demo of the game and I bought a starter box
I hear that, the popularity thing is why I first started looking into warhammer. A core set for legion is going to give you 2 armies of 4 units each, plus dice, (simplified) rule book, movement tools, range finder and tokes all for about a $100. I picked the champion army of Legion and 40k specifically to compare similar levels of play, but even at a smaller scale legion is going to be cheaper than 40k. I like both systems. It's different flavours. You missed a few points to be fair: Per model SW legion is more expensive than 40k. If you play a wargame it is war all the time, no matter the setting. Further more, quality of sculpts and player base are major reasons to play 40k. I agree with a number of your reasons but it is not so clear cut as you make it out to be.
Well, I also have a 10 reasons why warhammer is better than legion. Both games are great in their own ways. I don't understand how you can say legion models are more expensive though. Intercessors retail at 10 for $51 and stormtroopers are 7 for $29.99. The most expensive heavy unit for the empire, the AT-ST is $64.99 and a primaris redemoptor dreadnought is $75. Named characters such as Kayvaan Shrike are $45 whereas Legion characters are $21.99. Perhaps a horde army like tyranids or the guard are cheaper per individual model, but on average Legion is cheaper per model. Have a great day.
I've never played 40k or SW Legion. However, I have been playing GW's MESBG (LotR SBG, back in the day) for almost 20 years now. I'm starting to consider getting into a Sci-Fi game now, and Legion has much more of a draw for me. In a lot of ways, I agree with your points. I don't care for the grimdark setting, I don't care for the grotesque nature of the lore, and I've never been excited about any of the 40k Factions. 40k is definitely not my cup of tea, and I understand where you're coming from. Also, I'm not terribly excited to hang out with a playerbase that is so aggressive about their toy soldiers game. Though I'd probably be aggressive about it too if I'd sunk hundreds (or thousands) of dollars into it.

To the costs, AT-ST in star wars legion is as expensive as basic Tank in Warhammer 40k. Overall in Europe Legion is as expensive as 40k, sometimes even costs more. And Legion has poor figures and detail quality compared to warhammer. (Have both)

I'm not a player, or fan, of either 40k or Legion. But if it was a matter of having to play one as a hobby with legs, look at the potential future. Look at the history of the various Star Wars minis games that have been launched, peaked, and disappeared while 40k continued churning out editions. And I don't know comparing these two games directly. Legion feels like high school or college material with 40k feeling more like a Masters or Doctorate work. So what do you want to play? These are certainly true points. But if someone is considering 40K, will they be satisfied with Legion?
Excellent questions. There are a ton of things to consider when getting into it. I want to play with my nieces nephews and if God blesses me with kids I'd like to play with my kids one day. Which means, in the long long term I don't need to worry about game longevity, as long as I have the rules and the minis to play I can use it as a passtime with my kids. Watch a few episodes of clone wars with them then let them play the clones, kid of thing. But you are right, ten years from now I would not be surprised if Legion was no longer in production, whereas I would be surprised if 40k was not. Thank you for the post. I hope you have a great day.

I used to play both systems, and here are my thoughts: For me, the 40k Universe/lore is much more appealing for a wargame than SW will ever be. Its grimdark and has lots of alien/daemon variety, whereas SW is very human-centered and not having really interesting warring alien species. However, gameplay-wise, Legion is by far the better game, with streamlined rules, alternating activations and balanced factions, while 40k suffers from rules bloat and endless bookeeping to know every rule. I just doesnt have any appeal to me as a game anymore, and they missed a big opportunity to modernice the game in the most recent edition.

I like them both. Legion has the simplicity, 40k has the massive scale. Legion plays just more fun to me is all, but 40k has been in a state of course correction for its gameplay to simplify redundant rules etc etc. In the end tho fun is fun lmao.
@@11AleZZ 30 to 60 minis is a pretty high barrier to entry for someone who has never done war gaming in my opinion. Legion tends to be quite a bit less. Thankfully killteam lets people get involved with a much lower barrier to entry. Have a nice day.

That is true, but the legion list I mentioned in the video wasn't particularly cheap. And even if it was custodes. It would still be far more expensive to field a tournament ready 40k army than it would a tournament ready legion army. 40k looks like fun, but it GW has expensive plastic.
yeah but even Imperial/Chaos Knights, Grey Knights, or Castodes which are all contenders for the least expensive and lowest model count armies are going to run right around $600-$700 which is still double what this tournament winning legion army was gonna cost so there is still a notable difference in price.
I agree with the title of this video! A little less so with the 10 seasons you used and not at all with how you actually said any of it!!! I have both, SWL and WH40k (Empire, Separatist and Republic for Legion! And Necrons and Orks for 40K)! WARNING: The rest of this is a longer comment! And it’s just how this video probably would have been able to make a better point of why it’s better without going into all the kid stuff!!! So if just here just to troll anyone posting hate towards 40K then skip this!!! I love SWL way more! Some of the rules are down right dumb and some of them make no sense if you actually put more than 2 seconds of thought into them! But the 40k rule are 10x (if not) more complicated to even understand!?! When you’re army does “one thing when facing this faction it does this, but if it’s facing that faction then it does that” that is just too much! Plus there’s no need for a whole sheet of rules and instructions and a insane list of weapons and add ons and so on and so forth for a basic trooper unit!!! None!! And 40k has that for literally everything that comes out!!! And then also SWL expansions are most of the time cheaper, why less complex to build and paint (obviously that all depends on what faction of which you’re working with, of course), and literally everything you need to know to add whatever expansion you just bought to your list comes in that box!!! All the information you actually need to know comes on the units order cards!!! If you wanted that from 40k you would literally have to write it down after still buying that book separately from everything else for (the last time I bought one it was around) almost $50 alone! And all of the information you need one 1 units isn’t in one spot in the book!?! It’s on 3 different pages all mixed in together with other units!?! So if you are newer it is way easier to make mistakes! And if you’re playing against a cheater, good luck ever figuring it out!!! And there are just so many more reasons why it is so much better to learn and play SWL then 40k just in my opinion alone (and a lot of people I play SWL with that left 40K, did so because of many other reasons I haven’t even come across yet!)! But one they did mention and I also noticed very quickly in my short time (over 4 years now) trying to learn and build my 40K lists is how the community is!!! Holy hell!!! There is no other place I have ever seen on the internet that is anywhere near as toxic as anything to do with 40K!!! Wow! There are more trolls on the WH40k facebook page than in all the of the kids Trolls movies, combined!!! And God forbid you ask a single question that my be considered dumb to any of them!?! They swarm like wasps! I have seen (and yes, I have also asked noob questions and been set ablaze as)all the other countless noob comment/questions get hundreds and hundreds of hateful comments! It is so ridiculous how quickly they will start popping up to!!! I like how you highlighted the differences between WH40K and SWL, however, these aren't valid reasons to say SWL is better. TL/DR: the video should be "10 reasons I prefer SWL"... 1. You can play WH40K without knowing anything about the lore at all, and still have a blast. We run WH clubs in many schools for that reason. 2. SW has a lot of very dark scenes that surely get less focus than in WH. You are telling me that seeing the smoking skeletons of Luke's relatives is very light hearted? 3. Many players I know dislike SWL because there are only 5 factions. 4. The hobby aspect of the game is very important to many people, and 40K offers there a lot of opportunities. 5. I love SW and SWL is ok. But because the lore is so strongly established, it is almost impossible to really customise your troops. Arriving at a tournament with pink storm troopers and a yellow Vader won't make you any friends. 6. Absolutely, SWL is easier than WH40K. Again, there is a preference there.
I agree thanks for your post. To be honest this video was basically an experiment to see if creating a controversial video title and a provocative thumbnail would actually work on my youtube channel. This one video has outperformed the entire rest of my channel. I am actually working on the exact opposite video now, 40k is better than legion. "Kid Friendly" is not a selling point. Additionally, I started with 40k as a 10-year-old. So also not an argument. "Kids" can play 40k just fine. It's a cool setting, because unlike most other settings nowadays, it hasn't been dumbed down for this "kid friendly" stuff. It's gritty and real, not cartoonish.

Compared to what Slaanesh would do to them in graphic detail, the implied off screen death of children is pretty kid friendly. But to your point, I wouldn't show a 5 year old Revenge of the Sith. I would start little kids off with other movies, shows, comics, kid books, and video games. When they get to 10 or so then showing them Revenge of the sith would be good, but 40k is just grim dark. The Jedi do some pretty horrible things in the lore, just as bad as what the sith do, thus why they have the Gray's in the lore as well because they have noticed the hypocritical Jedi's point of views and have decided to use both Jedi and Sith force powers. As to your points about selectively exposing children to age appropriate material, you could do the exact same with warhammer, making your orignal and later points moot. Besides, I was just commenting to make a joke. I'm not trying to actually argue which one is better. That is a fine opinion. But you are right, the image of him "standing before" the younglings comes up. When people think of 40k they think of the image the death guard or a marine running trampling innocent civilians instead of running around them because it saves him 2 seconds during a fight. As I have said in other comments on this post, Revenge of the sith is not an ideal movie for a five year old. But the Clone wars TV show, or even the original trilogy of star wars are great even for little kids. You can show them a lot of stuff before you get to Revenge of the Sith. Comparing Star Wars to 40k is apples to oranges. Both fruit, both enjoyable, but very different. A lot of this was highly subjective and thats fine! 40k definitely isnt for everyone. Some of the points were kind of weak, like who cares if its kid friendly or not? But others were strong. Its complex. Its expensive and it IS pretty grimdark. I like star wars to get a break from the depressing universe of 40k every now and again, just to shake things up.

Ok as an avid player of both I think I can weigh in. I love the lore of both universes it scratches a different itch so I can’t say one is better than the other lore wise. For the game legion is a ton of fun and more engaging imo BUT it is heavily unbalanced. 40K is a lot of fun as well but nearly every faction has a chance of winning
Yes, Legion's got some balance issue. Empire pretty much owns right now. It is in my opinion the worst part of the game. But that is only if you are playing competitively. Two completely different games. Shatterpoint will blow them both out of the water soon enough. I play 40K and have for many years, I also play Marvel Crisis Protocol. Legion is just a static game where once you place your models, they tend to stay in the same spot the entire game.

Look I've tried it, since the very beginning and it has so few redeeming qualities. The minis are sub-par, the card system is hideously bloated and a massive barrier to new players, the point system is bad and the balance is laughable even by GW standards. @@brokengalaxygames My reasons why I prefer legion over 40k: - More stable rule set that doesn't force to to buy new set of models every 2 years. -More balance game overall, -A lot easier to play the game cleanly less fiddly. -No need to buy overpriced books, the rules are on the cards. -Much more streamlined that 40k easy to teach and learn. -Doesn't compromise on realism, 40k did some recent effort to make the game easier but always at the cost of realism and immersions. -Much more interactive and startegic gameplya you don't wait 20 minutes to play your turn.
Lore is subjective. I appreciate both 40k and Star Wars, as well as Tolkien Lore, and warcraft lore, and ASOIF lore. And ancient mythology for that reason. Imagining other worlds is just kind of fun. I'm not familiar with Infinity though. I'll check it out. Have a great day.

Star Wars is Sci-fi lite. Easy to get into, good guys always beat bad guys, clear who to cheer for, the story telling isn't that deep and with Disney, barely there at all, etc. WH has a lot more substance to it, good and bad in every faction, literal library's of books even if you don't want to play the game and heavy topics. I agree SW is far more child friendly and kids should be led to that first, but WH40k is kinda what happens when SW goes to the gym and starts reading a few too many nihilism books.
I need something more serious WarHammer 40k nails that. When I think Star Wars I cant help but feel a physical sense of rejection like cringe that makes you turn off your TV when you see something you cant handle. I can see Star Wars being better suited for younger groups but ultimately its never grabbed my attention and I dont really appreciate any of the characters personally the story is not what I prefer I will admit I havent watched any recent stuff but Ive seen advertising clips but because disney owns it I dont see that doing it any favors especially on social media. Same could be said for WH40k these days with all the confused arbitrary garbage infecting every series like a flesh eating bacteria but even on a table top I dont like Star Wars designs for machines mechs or soldiers etc I 3d print all my 40k stuff now so I have dragon themed space marine soldiers tanks mechs etc so my hobby has only been getting richer for the past 5 years while new games will have players catering to army color rulings for inclusion and the like so WH40k is in a spot where its honestly had the most freedom because 3d printing. If Star Wars doesn't have color restrictions for inclusion and other ridiculous rules as such I guess it boils down to what apperance you can appreciate more both stories are going down the drain from my stand point but Ive never let story be my anchor in anything I appreciate mostly because people just genuinely suck at writing a good story for anyone with a decent attention span and i feel universal about that.
I understand your criticisms. I also have another video called 10 reasons why 40k is better than legion. But honestly, the aspect about army personalization is something I've really gotten into in the last year since I made this. I am working on my own game with a couple of people. There will be official factions, but we are working on in universe lore regions for people to make factions however they want and we are working on rules for having a set number of "perk points" and then being able to choose from those for your custom faction. If it ever goes off I am hoping people will eagerly make dragon themed marines, and given them the freedom to write their own lore for it. Anyway, thanks for your comment. Have a great day.
Ok, all these cons you mention are pros for me. I don't like Star Wars, I don't like disney, I want things dark, I think 5 playable races which are mostly all human related, that's really lame. No kids? That's a major pro for me, keep the game between adults. The tabletop aspect? Barely care, the lore is cooler, designs vastly superior. It could just be personal taste, it's picking between watching a disney movie or watching Game of Thrones, I know what I would pick. I never liked disney not even as a kid. GW has plenty of flaws and it's an expensive hobby, those points I can agree with.

"5 playable races which are mostly all human related" What game have you been playing? Separatists use Battle droids and the only human they have is Count Dooku. The only humans in the Shadow Collective are Mandalorians, which they only have 2 units of. Both Republic and Rebels have Wookie units and Rebels recently got Ewoks. The Lore in Warhammer 40k is mostly just "Look at this guy! He can beat armies single handedly! Now Look at this guy! He can beat armies of the other guy!" and Repeat, there are good parts of Wh40k Lore like Trazyn and my personal favorite faction the Kroot, but I like Star Wars lore better, especially the Clone Wars. And you think Wh40k has better designs? Look at the Separatist Munificent Class Frigate, I dare you to find something that has a better design than it.

Wh40k, “He strong but he stronger” is incredibly relevant because that’s what Wh40k is based around. Cadians train for decades, Space Marines train for centuries, Custodes train for millennia. And Imperium space fleets? Honestly, all the ships look like upscaled or downscaled versions of one another, yeah, you can make an argument for this also being partially the case with the Republic and Galactic Empire. But not with the Separatists, look at the Munificent class frigate, not only does it double as a comms vessel, but it’s extremely inexpensive, according to Starships of the galaxy Saga edition, it costs 57,000,000 credits, and because 1 usd roughly equals 1.44 credits, that means that it costs less than 40 million usd, it’s less expensive than 4 M1 Abrams tanks! That’s just 1 ship! Look at the Hardcell-class interstellar transport, capable of carrying hundreds of Hailfire missile droids, or the menacing Lucrehulk? The Trade Federation got past the Russian Reformations stopping them from militarizing the Lucrehulks by justifying the militarization with pirate attacks on them and the Republic’s inability to respond at that time. I could go on and on about Separatist lore I find interesting, that’s why I love the clone wars so much!

Different games bud, both are great in their own ways. Legion is not better than 40k, just as 40k isnt better than legion. 40k is heaverly lore invested, and if your interested in it thats totally fine, but that doesnt mnea legion is better. They are both different universes. And no you dont have to read everything to understand 40k, there are countless youtube vids and fan vids on them that really do a fantastic job peaking your interest. Its sounds like you have had a really bad expereince in 40k to make you complete hate on it. Warhammer is very pricey yes, we all know that, one of the reasons why GW have messed up massivly, howegver Legion isnt that much cheaper. Marvel Crisis protocol is cheaper thatn both lol But anyway, everyone is allowed to expereince their own opinions. Thats because I have both and love both games and settings. I hate the "polarising trend" of "this is better than that" and then give a lot of subjetive stuff.
I understand completely. But people click on polarizing videos. For example, you clicked on this video and left a comment. Both of which are good for the algorithm and encourage people like me to make more polarizing videos. I've posted about 140 videos on this channel since mid December and so far people have viewed 208 hours of my content. This one video which you commented on was posted 10 days ago and it accounts for 102 hours of watch time. It is also responsible for about 20% of my subscriber count.
I know that my reasons are mostly subjective (The cost thing isn't Warhammer is legitimately more expensive than Legion, no subjectivity to that one) but people don't watch videos like this for objectivity. They watch it to validate their own opinions about why their game is superior. Hear what the "peasant legion player" has to say so they can laugh and mock him. Both of which are very good for getting a video promoted.

Just got into Legion - honestly not interested in Warhammer initially (visually, lore etc.) hence why I never got into that kind of games in the first time. But always felt to be attracted to this. Discovered Legion last month with a YT battle report video and fell in love with it. I'm an all time star-wars fan so that's the perfect match for me.

as a fan of both systems and also both franchises, i would always recommend if you want to get into 40k to start with killteam. It is a much smaller skirmish game with a lower price ceiling and far simpler rules that stkll has room to grow and become very good at!
Thanks, I was thinking about that, it seems like a much lower barrier to entry. It's still confusing trying to figure out what kill teams are made of. Legion special operations makes immediate sense to me but the way upgrades are handled makes me think that if I go out and buy a box with six marines in it that if I take it to a store to play someone my opponent is going to tell me I can't use something. You said 24 factions, their are technically also subfactions for a significant number of them. Also I feel like having more factions is a good thing, it gives the player so much more to choose from, which also allows you to find the exact thing you like. Also, you dont have to buy all the codexs, there is also wahapedia, which has all the rules for free. Anyway, thats just my opinion, i dont care what people prefer, i like many tabletop games and you can choose what you prefer

Well, I used just citadel, but I didn't have a website. If you send me an email at yourbrokengalaxy@gmail.com then I can send you an image that details citadel paints used. I think everything on it is citadel. It is what I used to paint my Boba and my Boba (In my opinion) is my best painted mini.
I'm sure it was brought up already, but just like in Legion, several of those models come as "units" where there are multiple models per package. For instance, the Sentinels come in packs of 2-3. I know that might sound like splitting hairs, but that cuts your estimate of the cost of that individual bit by half.
The difference between the two games is really two-fold. The theme and the scope. Legion, despite the name, is about small skirmishes. 40k is about large assaults. You did get the nail right on the head with the theme. 40k is adults only, or at the very least, needs adult supervision.
I started with Legion and found it extremely annoying that we bounced back and forth every time someone touched a model. I also hate how fantasy flight (the original producer of Legion) made the game system off proprietary dice. I HATE proprietary dice. Especially when they are color locked or have symbols that make it difficult for me to distinguish at a distance. 40k works off regular d6 pip dice.

A lot of people like the Grimdark story and many characters. on the setting. About the miniatures, the game has become very expensive, but the GW models are beautiful. For a new player, Legion is easier to learn.
For sure, I could easily make another video why warhammer is better than legion and the fact that so many people like the grimdark would be an obvious contender on the list. This list is pretty good. In 40k expect to drop 500-1000 dollars to build a standard army. I had a standard army for starwars after like 200 and also a skirmish army.
Also, as a dad, the kid thing is huge! Dont discount this. Not just the universe, but the rule set and the dice. In 40k there is a lot of mental math about what needs to roll to score a hit, to wound, to save, and to possibly save again with massive dice pools. In legion it is a simple rolling system with hits/saves being symbols on dice as well as much much less dice rolling.
I also like how much easier it is to keep both players engaged in legion with the orders system. 40k can be boring as you may not be doing anything sometimes for up to 30m while you wait for your opponenet to move, shoot, cast, charge, and attack with the entire army. And then you may have lost 25% of your army before you even go.
Also, with so many armies (and sub armies) in 40k, it makes it stupid hard to balance the game, both internal to an army and en masse.
Last, 40k changes the rules every few years. We are not talking small changes, but massive rewrites that requires buying a new rule book and codex, and sometimes it drastically changes how an army plays.
That said, there are things 40k does better. The models are amazing quality and blows legions models away. The system allows for more creative deployment and movement tactics with reserves and deepstrikes. The scale is amazing as you can have an army of 5 towering mechwarrior like models vs 300 infantry models and it would be competitive.
40k scratches an itch that legion doesnt. But Ive found legion to be quite enjoyable and has many pros over 40k.

Interesting video and points raised. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and personal experience and opinions. I think they are different products that provide different experiences but they have evolved to be somewhat of a lifestyle for some people. It’s really interesting that you raise the point about kids, I agree that SW seems much more suitable for a kid but it’s still war gaming at the end of the day but I think you could alter it or present it in a different fashion if need be or focus more on a storyline than the actual fighting or killing. Or you could present it more like “fighting” or neutralizing opponents than outright killing. Or focus more on the crafting aspect of the hobby. Kids love that. Still killing is a part of this earthly experience but I would be conscious of how I would present it to kids. Also kids can mean many things. When they are more grown up I believe they are much more suited of processing the realities of fighting and potentially death. I’ve never played any of the aforementioned games(only 40k videogames) but I watch a lot of videos of 40k and watched some Legion too. Lastly I would like to raise the issue of pricing which to my ignorant self does seem excessive maybe even for Legion too. I don’t obviously know the running costs of each company but I would like to know if they compensate their employees and designers and workers fairly. Won’t take more of your time, have a good one 🙂🙂

Also, I do like the hobby element of the game and getting kids involved. My last video which I release rather yesterday or the day before is actually me teaching my niece and nephews how to make terrain for wargaming/RPGs.
When I think of kids I am thinking of kids on the younger end of the spectrum rather than the older end. There is just a lot of very dark elements to the lore. If you're playing in your own house then it could be really easy, but if you take a little kid to a tournament then there is a good chance they are going to be seeing some death guard or Slaanesh that isn't going to be good for them.
I've never seen anything on unfair working conditions regarding either company, but I haven't really looked much into it.

I will definitely agree with you, I wouldn’t expose a very young kid to certain aspects of the hobby but in your own personal space you can definitely tailor the experience to suit their developmental level. And I know what you mean, doing things with your kids (don’t have any of my own) is such a precious experience and it makes sense that you want to share with them something that gives you joy and they might also find interesting or at least certain aspects of it.

I started playing legion but now i play both 40K and Legion. What I love about Legion the most are the upgrade cards that can really change a unit into something different. What I love about 40K is of course the ridiculous Orks😂 and lore which surprised me how good it really was once you started understanding it. With tenth edition the appeal of Star Wars legion got a little smaller for me since it’s getting easier to teach people 40K with combat patrol and killteam. I’m also still waiting for the Valentine day release bundle of Mace Windu and Jango fett 😂😂
I Started with legion too but I got Leviathan so I can start playing 40k when I paint them up. For some reason the algorithm hasn't pushed it but I have another video where I talk about why 40k is better than legion actually. They are both fun.

When kids think of Star Wars, they can think of Anakin winning a pod race, and then later murdering children, and then later burning alive next to a river of lava.
I think that the idea that exposing kids to everything to offer all at once is the only way to do it is a false dichotomy. Showing kids episode 1 could work, but you don't show them episode 3 until they are older.
Or you show them the clone wars TV show.
Citing the most disturbing parts of the IP as reason why the entire IP isn't acceptable is an argument in bad faith. 40k on the other hand is specifically made non-child-friendly. The entire setting is just bursting with things that are inappropriate for kids.

I've played both extensively. Avoid Legion. There are dozens of miniature games that are better.
I stopped playing warhammer for almost all of these reasons, plus one more: When you are new, you have almost nothin whereas veteran players have quite a lot. Meaning whatever you have in your arsenal, your opponent will just tailor their army to destroy yours. I just got the empire starter box for legion and with all the videos I've watched, I must say I'm quite looking forward to playing the game. Also yes, you're looking at anywhere between 700-1500 dollars for any warhammer army. Can't say I recommend it.
I just bought my first 2 warhammer armies (Leviathan). I've long been a fan of 40k thanks to Dawn of War. But I prefer legion.
You're point about tailoring an army is significant to me. I have all five Legion factions, I have introduced a number of people to the game by letting them play my faction, but because they don'T understand I could easily tailor my army to defeat theirs, even after they have played a few games.

I have looked at one page rules but haven't looked at these rulesets yet. I'll take a gander.
I don't play WH40K but I know a little about it. I know you can get a Recruit starter kit with two armies and commanders plus a set of starter paints for under $100 MSRP. Yes, there are technically a lot of factions, but some of those factions are actually factions inside of factions. There are sub factions of the Imperium of Man, Tyranids, and Chaos Marines. One doesn't have to look into the lore of 40k, well too much, to play it. The problem with 40k is that most people only see the gigantic tournaments with massive armies and painted terrain. I grant you there is a great deal of supplemental guides that GW tries to sell you, and that unfortunately happens that a lot of people who haven't done the research spend way more money than they need too, but if I bought all the models for the Imperial faction, it would set me back more than $500, and that doesn't include paints.

@@DaLEGOmaniac If you buy either of the starter sets or the "essentials kit" then you get three movement tools. They have a moveable joint in the middle in order to turn corners. Every unit in the game has either a movement of 1, 2, or 3. The movement tools also have curved ends to fit around model bases. Anything larger than the smallest trooper has a notch i it's base which the movement tool fits in. It is pretty efficient.

First of all the army that you are talking about at the 7 minute mark is the imperial guard and they are known for either being all tanks or tones on infantry, and for me warhammer is easier to get into because of the popularity and that when I went to games workshop I got a demo of the game and I bought a starter box
And your looking at competitive play , most little skirmish game only require one of two boxes for a skirmish or common game

A core set for legion is going to give you 2 armies of 4 units each, plus dice, (simplified) rule book, movement tools, range finder and tokes all for about a $100. I picked the champion army of Legion and 40k specifically to compare similar levels of play, but even at a smaller scale legion is going to be cheaper than 40k.

I like both systems. It's different flavours. You missed a few points to be fair: Per model SW legion is more expensive than 40k. If you play a wargame it is war all the time, no matter the setting.
Further more, quality of sculpts and player base are major reasons to play 40k.

I don't understand how you can say legion models are more expensive though. Intercessors retail at 10 for $51 and stormtroopers are 7 for $29.99. The most expensive heavy unit for the empire, the AT-ST is $64.99 and a primaris redemoptor dreadnought is $75. Named characters such as Kayvaan Shrike are $45 whereas Legion characters are $21.99.
Perhaps a horde army like tyranids or the guard are cheaper per individual model, but on average Legion is cheaper per model. Have a great day.

I've never played 40k or SW Legion. However, I have been playing GW's MESBG (LotR SBG, back in the day) for almost 20 years now. I'm starting to consider getting into a Sci-Fi game now, and Legion has much more of a draw for me.
In a lot of ways, I agree with your points. I don't care for the grimdark setting, I don't care for the grotesque nature of the lore, and I've never been excited about any of the 40k Factions.
40k is definitely not my cup of tea, and I understand where you're coming from. Also, I'm not terribly excited to hang out with a playerbase that is so aggressive about their toy soldiers game. Though I'd probably be aggressive about it too if I'd sunk hundreds (or thousands) of dollars into it.

That's how I feel. However, honestly I do like both games. I am actually went to a Warhammer shop just last week. But I do like Legion more.
To the costs, AT-ST in star wars legion is as expensive as basic Tank in Warhammer 40k. Overall in Europe Legion is as expensive as 40k, sometimes even costs more. And Legion has poor figures and detail quality compared to warhammer. (Have both)

I'm not a player, or fan, of either 40k or Legion. But if it was a matter of having to play one as a hobby with legs, look at the potential future. Look at the history of the various Star Wars minis games that have been launched, peaked, and disappeared while 40k continued churning out editions. And I don't know comparing these two games directly. Legion feels like high school or college material with 40k feeling more like a Masters or Doctorate work. So what do you want to play? These are certainly true points. But if someone is considering 40K, will they be satisfied with Legion?
Excellent questions. There are a ton of things to consider when getting into it. I want to play with my nieces nephews and if God blesses me with kids I'd like to play with my kids one day.
Which means, in the long long term I don't need to worry about game longevity, as long as I have the rules and the minis to play I can use it as a passtime with my kids. Watch a few episodes of clone wars with them then let them play the clones, kid of thing.

I used to play both systems, and here are my thoughts:
For me, the 40k Universe/lore is much more appealing for a wargame than SW will ever be. Its grimdark and has lots of alien/daemon variety, whereas SW is very human-centered and not having really interesting warring alien species.
However, gameplay-wise, Legion is by far the better game, with streamlined rules, alternating activations and balanced factions, while 40k suffers from rules bloat and endless bookeeping to know every rule. I just doesnt have any appeal to me as a game anymore, and they missed a big opportunity to modernice the game in the most recent edition.

I like them both. Legion has the simplicity, 40k has the massive scale. Legion plays just more fun to me is all, but 40k has been in a state of course correction for its gameplay to simplify redundant rules etc etc. In the end tho fun is fun lmao.

@@11AleZZ 30 to 60 minis is a pretty high barrier to entry for someone who has never done war gaming in my opinion. Legion tends to be quite a bit less.

Granted Imperial Guard are one of the most expensive armies you can choose to play in 40k.
That is true, but the legion list I mentioned in the video wasn't particularly cheap. And even if it was custodes. It would still be far more expensive to field a tournament ready 40k army than it would a tournament ready legion army.
40k looks like fun, but it GW has expensive plastic.
yeah but even Imperial/Chaos Knights, Grey Knights, or Castodes which are all contenders for the least expensive and lowest model count armies are going to run right around $600-$700 which is still double what this tournament winning legion army was gonna cost so there is still a notable difference in price.

I love SWL way more! Some of the rules are down right dumb and some of them make no sense if you actually put more than 2 seconds of thought into them! But the 40k rule are 10x (if not) more complicated to even understand!?! When you’re army does “one thing when facing this faction it does this, but if it’s facing that faction then it does that” that is just too much! Plus there’s no need for a whole sheet of rules and instructions and a insane list of weapons and add ons and so on and so forth for a basic trooper unit!!! None!! And 40k has that for literally everything that comes out!!! And then also SWL expansions are most of the time cheaper, why less complex to build and paint (obviously that all depends on what faction of which you’re working with, of course), and literally everything you need to know to add whatever expansion you just bought to your list comes in that box!!! All the information you actually need to know comes on the units order cards!!! If you wanted that from 40k you would literally have to write it down after still buying that book separately from everything else for (the last time I bought one it was around) almost $50 alone! And all of the information you need one 1 units isn’t in one spot in the book!?! It’s on 3 different pages all mixed in together with other units!?! So if you are newer it is way easier to make mistakes! And if you’re playing against a cheater, good luck ever figuring it out!!! And there are just so many more reasons why it is so much better to learn and play SWL then 40k just in my opinion alone (and a lot of people I play SWL with that left 40K, did so because of many other reasons I haven’t even come across yet!)! But one they did mention and I also noticed very quickly in my short time (over 4 years now) trying to learn and build my 40K lists is how the community is!!! Holy hell!!! There is no other place I have ever seen on the internet that is anywhere near as toxic as anything to do with 40K!!! Wow! There are more trolls on the WH40k facebook page than in all the of the kids Trolls movies, combined!!! And God forbid you ask a single question that my be considered dumb to any of them!?! They swarm like wasps! I have seen (and yes, I have also asked noob questions and been set ablaze as)all the other countless noob comment/questions get hundreds and hundreds of hateful comments! It is so ridiculous how quickly they will start popping up to!!! And the worst part about all their hateful comments to your question, is that a lot of them act like you’re a dumb a$$ for not looking for it on the internet or CZcams first….. but the problem with that, is 65-70% of that is fake! I like how you highlighted the differences between WH40K and SWL, however, these aren't valid reasons to say SWL is better.
TL/DR: the video should be "10 reasons I prefer SWL"...
1. You can play WH40K without knowing anything about the lore at all, and still have a blast. We run WH clubs in many schools for that reason.
2. SW has a lot of very dark scenes that surely get less focus than in WH. You are telling me that seeing the smoking skeletons of Luke's relatives is very light hearted?
3. Many players I know dislike SWL because there are only 5 factions.
4. The hobby aspect of the game is very important to many people, and 40K offers there a lot of opportunities.
5. I love SW and SWL is ok. But because the lore is so strongly established, it is almost impossible to really customise your troops. Arriving at a tournament with pink storm troopers and a yellow Vader won't make you any friends.
6. Absolutely, SWL is easier than WH40K. Again, there is a preference there.

To be honest this video was basically an experiment to see if creating a controversial video title and a provocative thumbnail would actually work on my youtube channel. This one video has outperformed the entire rest of my channel.
I am actually working on the exact opposite video now, 40k is better than legion. And the aspect about customization is one that i am going to bring up.

"Kid Friendly" is not a selling point. Additionally, I started with 40k as a 10-year-old. So also not an argument. "Kids" can play 40k just fine. It's a cool setting, because unlike most other settings nowadays, it hasn't been dumbed down for this "kid friendly" stuff. It's gritty and real, not cartoonish.

Compared to what Slaanesh would do to them in graphic detail, the implied off screen death of children is pretty kid friendly. But to your point, I wouldn't show a 5 year old Revenge of the Sith. I would start little kids off with other movies, shows, comics, kid books, and video games. When they get to 10 or so then showing them Revenge of the sith would be good, but 40k is just grim dark. The Jedi do some pretty horrible things in the lore, just as bad as what the sith do, thus why they have the Gray's in the lore as well because they have noticed the hypocritical Jedi's point of views and have decided to use both Jedi and Sith force powers.
As to your points about selectively exposing children to age appropriate material, you could do the exact same with warhammer, making your orignal and later points moot.

That is a fine opinion. But you are right, the image of him "standing before" the younglings comes up. When people think of 40k they think of the image the death guard or a marine running trampling innocent civilians instead of running around them because it saves him 2 seconds during a fight.
As I have said in other comments on this post, Revenge of the sith is not an ideal movie for a five year old. But the Clone wars TV show, or even the original trilogy of star wars are great even for little kids. You can show them a lot of stuff before you get to Revenge of the Sith. Comparing Star Wars to 40k is apples to oranges. Both fruit, both enjoyable, but very different.
A lot of this was highly subjective and thats fine! 40k definitely isnt for everyone. Some of the points were kind of weak, like who cares if its kid friendly or not? But others were strong.
Its complex. Its expensive and it IS pretty grimdark. I like star wars to get a break from the depressing universe of 40k every now and again, just to shake things up.

Ok as an avid player of both I think I can weigh in. I love the lore of both universes it scratches a different itch so I can’t say one is better than the other lore wise. For the game legion is a ton of fun and more engaging imo BUT it is heavily unbalanced. 40K is a lot of fun as well but nearly every faction has a chance of winning
Yes, Legion's got some balance issue. Empire pretty much owns right now. It is in my opinion the worst part of the game. But that is only if you are playing competitively. The way I primarily play is with themed armies. Not a true narrative play but I just think, what sounds fun?

I play 40K and have for many years, I also play Marvel Crisis Protocol. Legion is just a static game where once you place your models, they tend to stay in the same spot the entire game.

Look I've tried it, since the very beginning and it has so few redeeming qualities. The minis are sub-par, the card system is hideously bloated and a massive barrier to new players, the point system is bad and the balance is laughable even by GW standards. - More stable rule set that doesn't force to to buy new set of models every 2 years.
-More balance game overall,
-A lot easier to play the game cleanly less fiddly.
-No need to buy overpriced books, the rules are on the cards.
-Much more streamlined that 40k easy to teach and learn.
-Doesn't compromise on realism, 40k did some recent effort to make the game easier but always at the cost of realism and immersions.
-Much more interactive and startegic gameplya you don't wait 20 minutes to play your turn.

Lore is subjective. I appreciate both 40k and Star Wars, as well as Tolkien Lore, and warcraft lore, and ASOIF lore. And ancient mythology for that reason. Imagining other worlds is just kind of fun. I'm not familiar with Infinity though. I'll check it out. Have a great day.

Star Wars is Sci-fi lite. Easy to get into, good guys always beat bad guys, clear who to cheer for, the story telling isn't that deep and with Disney, barely there at all, etc. WH has a lot more substance to it, good and bad in every faction, literal library's of books even if you don't want to play the game and heavy topics. I agree SW is far more child friendly and kids should be led to that first, but WH40k is kinda what happens when SW goes to the gym and starts reading a few too many nihilism books.

I need something more serious WarHammer 40k nails that. When I think Star Wars I cant help but feel a physical sense of rejection like cringe that makes you turn off your TV when you see something you cant handle. I can see Star Wars being better suited for younger groups but ultimately its never grabbed my attention and I dont really appreciate any of the characters personally the story is not what I prefer I will admit I havent watched any recent stuff but Ive seen advertising clips but because disney owns it I dont see that doing it any favors especially on social media. Same could be said for WH40k these days with all the confused arbitrary garbage infecting every series like a flesh eating bacteria but even on a table top I dont like Star Wars designs for machines mechs or soldiers etc I 3d print all my 40k stuff now so I have dragon themed space marine soldiers tanks mechs etc so my hobby has only been getting richer for the past 5 years while new games will have players catering to army color rulings for inclusion and the like so WH40k is in a spot where its honestly had the most freedom because 3d printing. If Star Wars doesn't have color restrictions for inclusion and other ridiculous rules as such I guess it boils down to what apperance you can appreciate more both stories are going down the drain from my stand point but Ive never let story be my anchor in anything I appreciate mostly because people just genuinely suck at writing a good story for anyone with a decent attention span and i feel universal about that.

But honestly, the aspect about army personalization is something I've really gotten into in the last year since I made this. I am working on my own game with a couple of people.
There will be official factions, but we are working on in universe lore regions for people to make factions however they want and we are working on rules for having a set number of "perk points" and then being able to choose from those for your custom faction.
If it ever goes off I am hoping people will eagerly make dragon themed marines, and given them the freedom to write their own lore for it.

Ok, all these cons you mention are pros for me. I don't like Star Wars, I don't like disney, I want things dark, I think 5 playable races which are mostly all human related, that's really lame. No kids? That's a major pro for me, keep the game between adults. The tabletop aspect? Barely care, the lore is cooler, designs vastly superior.
It could just be personal taste, it's picking between watching a disney movie or watching Game of Thrones, I know what I would pick. I never liked disney not even as a kid.
GW has plenty of flaws and it's an expensive hobby, those points I can agree with.

"5 playable races which are mostly all human related" What game have you been playing? Separatists use Battle droids and the only human they have is Count Dooku. The only humans in the Shadow Collective are Mandalorians, which they only have 2 units of. Both Republic and Rebels have Wookie units and Rebels recently got Ewoks.
The Lore in Warhammer 40k is mostly just "Look at this guy! He can beat armies single handedly! Now Look at this guy! He can beat armies of the other guy!" and Repeat, there are good parts of Wh40k Lore like Trazyn and my personal favorite faction the Kroot, but I like Star Wars lore better, especially the Clone Wars.
And you think Wh40k has better designs? Look at the Separatist Munificent Class Frigate, I dare you to find something that has a better design than it.

Wh40k, “He strong but he stronger” is incredibly relevant because that’s what Wh40k is based around. Cadians train for decades, Space Marines train for centuries, Custodes train for millennia.
And Imperium space fleets? Honestly, all the ships look like upscaled or downscaled versions of one another, yeah, you can make an argument for this also being partially the case with the Republic and Galactic Empire. But not with the Separatists, look at the Munificent class frigate, not only does it double as a comms vessel, but it’s extremely inexpensive, according to Starships of the galaxy Saga edition, it costs 57,000,000 credits, and because 1 usd roughly equals 1.44 credits, that means that it costs less than 40 million usd, it’s less expensive than 4 M1 Abrams tanks! That’s just 1 ship! Look at the Hardcell-class interstellar transport, capable of carrying hundreds of Hailfire missile droids, or the menacing Lucrehulk? The Trade Federation got past the Russian Reformations stopping them from militarizing the Lucrehulks by justifying the militarization with pirate attacks on them and the Republic’s inability to respond at that time. I could go on and on about Separatist lore I find interesting, that’s why I love the clone wars so much!

Different games bud, both are great in their own ways. Legion is not better than 40k, just as 40k isnt better than legion. 40k is heaverly lore invested, and if your interested in it thats totally fine, but that doesnt mnea legion is better. They are both different universes. And no you dont have to read everything to understand 40k, there are countless youtube vids and fan vids on them that really do a fantastic job peaking your interest. Its sounds like you have had a really bad expereince in 40k to make you complete hate on it. Warhammer is very pricey yes, we all know that, one of the reasons why GW have messed up massivly, howegver Legion isnt that much cheaper. Marvel Crisis protocol is cheaper thatn both lol But anyway, everyone is allowed to expereince their own opinions. But just rmemeber these are two brilliant games with their own unique universes, but neither is better than the other.
