I have the LV Neverfull GM in mono and the Neverfull MM in DE both are the old model. I bought both in 2013 and I believe the new model came out at the end of that same year. I did call LV when the new model came out and asked about the difference and the pouch. I don’t know if it’s true but they told me the base of the new model was reinforced to sag less. I would love to see you put items in both to compare and see if that’s true. Also the straps on my DE Neverfull still stand up after 5 years.

That is definitely not true! The new model still sags, and I think it sags more, because of thinner canvas. I prefer the thinner canvas, since it is more comfortable on my body. The differences are: new model has a pouch, the interior print is different, and the pocket is smaller on the new model ( it does not open all the way above the zipper, making it a little smaller). And yes, the pocket interior lining is different.
Great comparison. I ❤️the interior of the old model with the cursive writing, however I ❤️the pouch that comes in the new model. You can get the best of both worlds when you purchase the mon Mono version.
Does the mon mono still have the floral interior?

I bought an old version LV Neverfull Damier Ebene GM on Tradesy a couple of years ago, and it’s date code is SD1028. I almost thought it was a fake because the inside flap stitching was different than the newer ones I saw, so I had it authenticated twice and both said it was correct for it’s date code. The other difference on the original bags if it was made in 2007 and some bags in early 2008 is the stitching of the handles on the inside above the pocket, the original ones did not stitch the handles all the way through to the outside of the pocket it just went through the first layer which is covered by the pocket flap. I believe Louis Vuitton decided to reinforce the handles by putting the stitching of the handles all the way through to the outside of the pocket flap instead of hiding it underneath which is what I’ve heard. Anyways, I love the neverfull and I enjoy watching your videos. ☺️
Does it cost to authenticate?
I have the neverfull from 2009 and as I’m looking and I’ve noticed by just seeing them on other people the leather is different on the new ones. My handles look thinner and they flop over too. At at this point I’m going to send it in to replace all the leather on the outside of the bag. Which still wouldn’t cost what they are charging now for it. That and I only paid a little over 700$ for the bag even though I didn’t get the pouch. Which I’m find with I can buy a pouch for the bag.

I have the new model ebene less than a year and my handles flop over. But I thinks it’s due to the way I store my bag at work. I work in a cubicle and I have to lock my bag in a drawer, so for 8 hours a day the bag is lying flat on its side with the handles bent. I actually wish my handles were still stiff. I haven’t noticed any change in how they feel on my shoulder since flopping over. The handles don’t feel any softer. But I prefer the new model. Having that extra piece has really come in handy.

I have the same exact scenario when storing my bag at work so my straps stay folded. The straps are stiff even when bent over. Have you noticed a difference in the wear to the trim versus the strap. I feel like the trim is wearing more then the strap. I wonder if that is also due to how you use the bag or quality(how the bag is made). I would say I’m very kind when using my bag.
This was a great idea for a video. I am partial to the old model on DE but currently have a Kate Spade item similar to the NF MM in Epi. I bought the bag last year for work because I wasn't sure if I wanted the NF. My bag in has lost some shape, likely due to the lack of an organizer. I will begin the search for my Old Model NF MM in DE. You always provide a wealth of knowledge.

The new model started cracking so my friend took it back and got store credit for a brand new bag. She only had the bag for about a year and didn’t even use it everyday 🤔
Great video- I agree that it makes sense to buy the Neverfull new unless a person is seeking out the older model. I don’t care for the pouch but plenty of people love it so it was very easy to sell it- lowering the cost of my bag 👍🏼
I store my 2017 DE with the handles crossed- that seems to have helped them relax a bit.

Great informational video! I've been on the fence for a nevefull for about a year. I've never been one for large totes but I just purchased a Michael Kors version, the jet set tote and I'm sold! An LV neverfull has officially made it to the wishlist! Lol!

I have both old and new. The older model has thicker canvas and the quality is far superior. Stitching is cleaner, pattern matching at seams is cleaner and neater. Handles are a tad thicker as well. The interior pocket does peel but it’s a much better bag. The quality of LVs have been on a steady decline over the past couple of years.
Do you also find that the fonts on the hardware on the old neverfull is rounder and bigger whereas the fonts on the hardware of the new neverfull is sharper and skinnier?

hey! do the new neverfulls (damier ebene) have a RED Louis Vuitton stamp inside as opposed to it being embossed? was that a change as well?
My DE straps are still really stiff as well after a little over 3 years. I heard a rumor that on the old model DE neverfulls they had issues with the straps cracking so I wonder if they tried to correct that with the new models resulting in them being on the stiff side?

Prefer new model. I had old model NF & the pocket peeled & it was easy to take off & much much better IMO without that coating...it’s smart they didn’t continue that in NM NFs.
New subbie! I’ve been binge watching your videos. ❤️ I have had my DE about a year now, but use it daily for my stuff, my kids stuff, work stuff. The handles are still stiffer than the untreated handles on my monogram never full. They are good and floppy now though, and way less uncomfortable to carry. I have heard a lot of people mention the stiffer handles on the mm version though which is so strange to me! Maybe has something to do with storing it or the weight distribution.
Thank you. :) I've had my ebene Neverfull for a few years now and the handles still stand straight up but I rotate my bags a lot so it doesn't get as much use as it would with someone who carries it all the time. I hope they'll get more floppy eventually.

They're both nice. The ebene goes better with my wardrobe and is more carefree but I enjoy having the azur for summer and lighter colored outfits.

I heard the original canvas was thicker and it’s thinner now, would you agree with that?
I've thought about buying a device that can measure that so I can do a video about it. What I've heard is the canvas is the same thickness but LV had to remove an ingredient form the coating because it was toxic and that changed the feel of the canvas. Not sure if that's true...just what I've heard from a few people.
