¡Dios, qué voz! Incluso a su edad, mantiene la flexibilidad y una voz fresca. No hay muchos que todavía tengan esta calidad de voz a su edad. Su técnica del bel canto lo ha mantenido en forma. También puedo ver que ha ajustado sabiamente su repertorio a lo largo de su carrera. Bravo Maestro Ramón Vargas! Saludos desde Alemania !
I'm a bari-tenor...Have sung for 40 plus years. Never heard myself, but going on others opinion who claim to know and have nothing to gain by dispensing strokes, I know what I'm doing....Vargas is a new voice to me and I've listened to baritones and tenors religiously for 40 years. Some of the plaudits I can't understand how they were earned....Vargas I surprises me that I haven't heard much of anything of him in these 40 years of near obsession to "hear" on my part. I have listenened to recordings of his more youthful self, and I hear a weighty voice in this recital. Lots of factors could account for that, but if I've read correctly a couple of the comments below, an mature voice is going to have more weight to it frequently. I think this voice is as good as I've heard of contemporary tenors. The ringing clarity of the higher notes to me is astounding. The bottom is "there" but that was never his selling point if I hear the earlier recordings correctly. Very few on the local New York stage who I'd pay to listen to, but I surely would Vargas.
He still sounds so good! One of the few who hasn't pushed his voice beyond its means, and as a result he produces a really beautiful, even tone. I remember meeting his years ago at a restaurant across from Lincoln Center and he was so very kind, with a very hearty personality. Bravo Ramon Vargas
Me van a criticar los eruditos del canto, independientemente de la edad, del reperotio del conicerto, Ramon vargas siempre será un respetable y admirable artista es más famoso y mas rico que los que lo critican que quizá no ha pisado ningun escenario soquiera en su vida, aplausos mtro Ramón y un saludo a Andres Sarré escelente pianista, en lo personal creo el fue demsiado canto, el concierto se torna un poco MOnotono y aunque las canciones son bonitas, no ha sido uno de mis conciertos favoritos, quiza el repetorio no sé, creo que escuchar unas 5 canciones era suficiente o menos, de lo bueno poco.

Vargas no es spinto, siempre fue y será lírico, ahora ya empuja la voz, y engola, la verdad ya va en declive
NO me gusto en este concierto....la voz no es la que siempre usa. Tal vez estuviera enfermo pero oigo la voz engolada, y forzada
La voz no esta engolada esta muy bien colocada si estuviera engolada el sonido estuviera opaco y chilloso no critiques sin antes saber
