- (20 Feb 2018) DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE AND COUNTESS OF WESSEX MEET FASHION ROYALTY
Prince William's wife, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, co-hosted a fashion reception at Buckingham Palace with Sophie, the Countess of Wessex and wife of Prince Edward, William's uncle. The two were acting on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II at the glamorous event.
Among the guests Monday night (19 FEB. 2018) were Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, designer Stella McCartney and Edward Enninful, the new editor of British Vogue.
The event was a celebration of the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange, launched earlier this month to foster partnerships between established and emerging talents in the Commonwealth countries ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London in April.

@@viveknag47l agree with you, but l look on it as her loss and our gain. I agree with you, colour should not matter, but unfortunately it does to some. I have a new young neighbour who is White British, and her husband is black Nigerian, they have just had a baby girl, who l have become besotted with as l have no grandchildren of my own. This little girl is absolutely beautiful, and gives me the biggest of smiles, you cannot believe what joy l get from giving her cuddles. Knowing the parents she will always be proud of who she is, so l applaud them as the love they have for each other and baby is so lovely to see. That is how life should be, full of love not hate. ❤
They're both lovely looking ladies
Sophie and Catherine both became Royal by marriage. They are both equally elegant, discrete and willing to undertake Royal duties without fuss or fanfare. I suppose in a nutshell it's all about fitting in, happy to do ones duty and a willingness to respect and work hard for the Royal Institution, the Country and the Commonwealth. Both ladies exude commitment and Class.
Sophie and Kate look and act so natural in their duties. No looking for camera angles or being false and prominent. I don’t know what Harry was seeing in Meghan.

They were not born Royal but by their dignity and poise they have shown that they have become Royal but have not forgotten their roots. When the time comes the Duchess of Cambridge will be Queen in every way possible.

Sophie, Countess of Wessex is one classy lady. Stella McCartney may be deemed ' fashion royalty ' but she always looks like she's just got out of bed after a night on the piss. Also, I noticed Anna Wintour wasn't wearing her trademark shades yet she wore them throughout the Queen's visit to LFW which I thought particularly rude.
Yes, agreed. For the past couple of years, Sophie has really upped her game, her visibility and her fashion style and all in a good way. But apart from all of those things she's a hard working royal and seemingly very approachable. She's one of my favourite royals.
It is said the Queen and Prince Philip are particularly fond of her. TBH, I'm not a royalist but I do find her to be quietly dignified and does much for charity.
Yes, and as the Queen and PP are cutting down on their engagements and patronages, she's been picking up the slack and increasing her work and exposure. Her overseas travel in representation of the Crown has certainly increased and so has her domestic duties. She seems very able and comfortable in her rapidly growing role and it would be nice to see the Queen bestow more honour(s) on her. I'm sure it will be coming... just what and when.

Apparently at Balmoral Edward and Sophie's daughter Louise has endeared herself to William and Kate by looking after their children and teaching them how to draw and paint. Edward and Sophie plus Princess Anne and Tim Lawrence must be involved in the slimmed down monarchy.

The Duchess of Cambridge and The Countess of Wessex both born commoners are shining examples of English ladies who have never put a foot wrong,or have behaved in any way which would bring disrespect to the Queen. They do not break the Royal code and are a credit not only to the Royal family but to their parents who brought up LADIES they both deserve to be called Royal unlike the latest female to join the family and unfortunately she has so hoodwinked Prince Harry he is behaving like a bad tempered throwing tantrums child at his staff and aides. Even though HRH Duchess of Sussex is royalty, she is outranked by Kate and Sophie has an Order of Service from the Queen (a distinction that Kate hasn't been given yet by the Queen yet) In her previous life, Meghan was a guest on many shows as a fashion expert, yet she is not relevant enough to be invited let alone sit in the front row during Fashion Week.
